So u guys still like lamp? Despite the bittersweet moment
Why wouldn't we? He didn't want to play against us, but when manager told him to do so, he acted like a professional. After scoring he was clearly heartbroken, thanked fans afterwards. Pure class act from him IMO.
+2
FOREVER. LAMP IS LOVE. LAMP IS LIFE.
as a professional you need to do your job in any circumstance, he already a legend here so whether he scored against us doesnt matter, 203-1
well Man U,Spurs and Liverpool performances this weekend really took away the Mou hate and bus jokes. only Arsenal is the winner.

on a serious note, why the hell is Mou choosing Drougba who didnt have the same legs again come on instead of Remy, i dont agree with this hold up play, Drogba should concentrate in getting his coaching badge because his glory days are over.
You dont understand.. he wanted to bring on drog to help defend set pieces and corner etc, and possibily waste some time in the corner flag.. but just befehe sub drog on, lamp scored. Not for us but for the manc blues
Good game guys. Almost turned out to be another Mou masterpiece until Lampard turned it around. I am happy with the point.

Must say that Lampard killed multiple birds with one blow though -
- Scored a crucial goal for his current club
- Showed the professional he is by playing whole heartedly
- Did not celebrate, showed ultimate respect for Chelsea
- Applauded Chelsea fans at the end AND got a roaring approval

Priceless.

Personally I respect his history with us but playing for a rival team when he could have gone to Australia like Villa chose to has kind of smeared those affectionate goggles with which is used to look at him. He cost us 3 points and he should be professional enough to know he can't eat his cake and have it. Players are selfish and will always make choices which suit them. They will never sacrifice the lime light in respect to the fans ..Lampard wanted to compete in the top flight and it didn't matter if it was against us.

That should be his goodbye....he has fulfilled his ambitions for his new club
+2
I am sorry but I disagree with you. He never would have wanted to play for city, but the 6 month break in between made him do so. The professionalism he showed today is the reason why we all love him. Tbh I have more respect for him after today, and he is my favorite footballer of all time.
+2
calm down @NaijaCarefree
he didn't directly go to City. He is footballer, he is very professional. His goal won us the title in 2005
+1
@Drogbalampard....I respect his professionalism but still I cant help that he cost my dear team 2 points today. Things like this used to happen to Arsenal et al not us. Drogba had offers from premier league teams but refused.

Liverpool fan in my college: "Chelsea are f****** classless.. How can you not give a contract to a club legend?"

Me: "We didn't need him, we have enough options in midfield."

LFan: "So what? You just dump Lampard? Liverpool would never do that to Gerrard.. Man Utd would never do that to Giggs.."

Me: "Agger.."

"He wanted to go to Brondby.. So we let him. Chelsea think only in terms of money.. They gave him a one ear extension only after he became Chelsea's top score. Chelsea are just so f****** classless."

Another Chelsea fan: Yo mate, jelly coz' 3-1 West Ham?

*I quietly walk away*
+1
Hahaha, Agger?

Are you really putting Agger in the same class as Lamps, Giggs and Gerrard; for what they mean to their the club?

*I quietly walk away, from my keyboard*
+4
@3D, stop making numpty posts.

The talk here is not the caliber of the player, its about club legends.

Gerrard and Terry, both were very close to leaving their respective clubs for more money, till they got newer and better contracts. So take your loyalty crap, and shove it.

Players are professionals, and id never want it any other way.
Overall there's a massive improvement from last season. So far this season we have found a way to kill the small teams. Last season we would've dropped a few points by now. It was a fair result today City didn't deserve to lose. Respect to Kompany and Mangala for shutting down everything in their box. We were piss poor today going forward though, many simple misplaced passes and lack of chemistry.

Honestly as long as we beat the small teams I could care less what the result is vs the big teams. Getting result vs stoke, villa etc etc is what wins you the league.
+1
true, but a bit lame. I want us to deserve to win (which we did last year). That's why I prefer the CL and other knock outs, because you have to beat the best to win.

(but I would be happy with a PL win regardless)
We haven't really come up against a proper parked defense, so lets wait for that first.
A little bit overlooked considering Frank's goal but Schürrle truly is a super sub. His movement and eye for goal is deadly. Milner did put on a bit of a clinic on him but he did his job on the attack and it helped us get the point.
+2
We should not have shut up shop after scoring. I think that is what really hurt us.

Also, I did not really understand the point of keeping Cesc on if that was the plan. We should have gotten Oscar on instead of him.

I really think we were exceptionally poor going forward today. Organised and all, but poor in the final third. Costa had no one running of him. When Ramires, or Hazard had the ball on the right, Brana was never in the same frame. It was a clear gameplan, and is reflected in the result.

I just wish Willian had his passing on today. He got into good positions to receive the ball from the defence, only to make a shoddy pass, too many times.
+2
What a freaking legend, that guy.

I'm happy with the result, a draw in the toughest fixture of our season is a great result. It is a bit disappointing to concede in the end, but it's not bad in hindsight.

What a legend. My throat went dry, my voice started to crackle.
We are in a good position in the league, why throw men forward unnecessarily? Mourinho went into this game looking to stop City getting 3 points, and he did just that.

At 10 men, City had to throw everyone forward, they needed this result more than us, why risk going attacking and then get caught on the counter and concede with 20 minutes to go? Think about it, a point away to City is a solid result w/e the situation may be.

Our defending was brilliant and one lapse in concentration from Schurrle cost us, that's how good City are, there's a reason why teams don't walk away from there with many points.

We'll show our game at the bridge.
We could have asked costa to go to the corner flag and waste up sometime like Matic did it back in Anfield last season
I agree with not going gungho, but once it was decided to kill the game, there was no reason for cesc to still be on.
Mehh, i think the Ramires sub kinda cost us, i don't think Mou would'v taken Ramires off if he hadn't had a yellow (or the fact that he looked a bit knackered), It was a bit early for Mikel for Cesc swap but i agree that Oscar should'v replaced him later.

Ah well, important thing is that's 2 points lost for City, onto the next one.
Do you think it was better for the ref to slow the game down like he did, or let the teams play?

other points: Some definitely deserved yellow, but not all. it may be biased, but city deserved the yellows that they got when stopping our counter attacks with hard fouls. their other yellows were only so-so. The ref did do a good job not calling penalties.
Mike Dean is a dick. He likes to come across like this macho, dominant, no-nonsense ref.

In every game he referees, he refs for the cameras. Yes, today was one of his better games, and he was not helped by the physicality of the game, but in general, he is just an attention monger.

Edit: The amazing thing is, that he is not the worst ref on the EPL roster. That honour belongs, unarguably, on the shelf of Mr. Christopher Foy.

Watch "José Mourinho Reaction To Frank Lampard Scoring " on YouTube - José Mourinho Reaction To Frank Lampard Scoring A…:

http://youtu.be/Fk7beLbR3qk

He doesn't look too happy with the result lol
I still don't believe that we have sh*t player like Mikel playing for us..what on earth is his contribution?? Just jogging around and watching and appreciating likes of Yaya run past him...we should have kept Romeu or MVG instead
@ Bazinga I thought we have past the time of bashing Mikel everytime things go wrong. Mikel is not a s**t player. Mikel didn't cost us the game. Mikel is a graet player for Chelsea. That is why Mourinho sold the likes of Mata, David Luiz, Romelu Lukaku and not Mikel.
