AC Milan have made a bid to take Chelsea striker Fernando Torres on a season-long loan.

http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/28951784
AC Milan you can have him for free! :P

Lol
Please let this be true
I believe Mourinho has been saying he wants Torres to stay more for the sake of team harmony than that he really means it. IMO there's only a few strikers out there that are capable of being the lone striker for us. My top 5: Benteke (well aware he's injured), Bony, Hernandez, Whickham, Eminenke. All of whom would cost upwards of £20 mil+.

The more I read about Destro the more I think we should be looking elsewhere. He's apparently very injury prone. And if you tend to get injured in Italy then you'll definitely pick up some knocks in England. He also is not very good at hold up play, which is so important if you're the only striker. But in the end I trust Mou to do what he thinks is best for us. After all, he is one of us. ;)
C61. .I agree with most of what u said but I do think the kind of CF we need is someone who's quick and can dribble just to add a bit more diversity to our Striker department.
I think We should give Torres more Chance ....

Said no Chelsea fan ever
£59.7m for Di-maria..Damn is he that good ?? LOL that is the combined fee we paid for Costa and Cesc :p
He's worth 35-40. But madrid exploited Uniteds situation to get a much larger sum
Man Utd should have negotiated a bit more, no? Di Maria wanted to leave, they were the only option, Madrid had no other option but to sell.. They could've got the price down to at least £50m, no?
Tbh we can't really make fun of that.. I mean we bought Torres for 50m :P

But again... he did technically win us the Champions League (Semi-Final goal vs Barca) and Europa League (Final goal vs Benfica)... xD
@niru , Madrid was perfectly happy to keep him on bench ,

United overpaid for him but his transfer cant be compared with Costa's & Cesc , recently when we sold our players we gave more preference to player's wish then transfer fee , Henry , Villa , Cesc , Sanchez , Ibra all went for less then their actual value .
Malik, you're right. But Di Maria wanted to leave, right? And I think he had only one year or so remaining on his contract? So if Real Madrid had to sell, now was the time they'd get maximum money for him. I might be wrong, though.

Barcelona let go of all their players for cheap, that's 100% true. But was it for the sole reason that the player wanted to leave? Juan Mata wanted to leave and we got a proper fee for him. Lukaku wanted to leave, we sold him for £28m which is great. Currently I don't think there's anyone in the squad who's expressed a desire to leave. Cech might, but he hasn't said anything to Mourinho or anyone at the club as far as I know.

I agree though, this can't be compared with the transfers of Costa and Cesc. One's release clause was activated, and one was forced out.
IMO we "underpaid" for Costa and Cesc in this kind of inflated market.
+1
Agreed, @Joshstyle. As Rylan mentioned previously, the Torres transfer is in one way a blessing in disguise, we've been so awesome in the transfer market since that. We got players like Cahill and Azpi for £5m and £8m! And we've pounced on every opportunity to make a good move.
What are you guys on about, you sold a playstation character to PSG for 50 million. On that basis, Di Maria could have well been worth more than 100 mil.
Malik is right, Big teams that are overflowing with talent sometimes have to settle for a lesser price when they have a player who is unsettled. Di Maria wasn't unsettled (by that I mean Real weren't needing to offload), United are desperate, so they pay whatever makes Madrid happy. In the case of Cesc, Barca needed to make room and weirdy no-one was in pursuit of him, at least none of the teams he wanted to go to. Both transfers happened under very different circumstances hence the drastically different prices.
thanks for the earlier birthday wishes guys! ;)

I remember a post in Premier League page one week ago>>
Pre-season form is temporary, s**t is permanent...
Lol absolutely true..
Lol...I think they'll need some time. A lot has happened in the past year or so. They'll sign a few more players and I dont think it will take long for them to rise to the top again.

Not trying to be troll here...but could Man Utd get any worse that was a horrible display today and i don't see how adding Di Maria is gonna sort out their defensive problems??? Food for thought
It wasnt your defense that let you down? What game were you Watchin, your defense as well as your offense was horrendous.

Not tryin to be a jerk jus boggles me how you could say it wasnt your defense that let you down.
Today it wasnt our defensive side that let us down. It was our build up play. We kept giving the ball away to them in our own half and inside our own box for the first goal. It was an all round bad display.

Edit:
@Viper, I dont know if you watched the game but 3 of the goals came from our defenders loosing the ball. First one is a big mistake from Evans in his own box. For the second one our RCB gets looses the ball and gets caught up field and for the third our LWB looses the ball. The last goal was a complete fakup from our defense though but by then the game was over.

I never said that we played good defensively but our defending is not why we lost. It took us till the 72nd minute to record our first shot on target. We couldnt string any kind of passes together and created little to nothing. This plus individual mistakes is why we lost the game not because of our defending.
That 5-2-3 formation is awful. For it to work united need 2 attacking fullbacks, 2 CB's that can play FB, and 2 CM's that can run all day. Why LVG is persisting with it is anybody's guess. It sure the hell isn't working.
+1
@Chelsea61 I think you're right about the formation. They don't have the player who can play that formation right. From all those goals they conceded, it seems like the players are clueless about their role and were unable to find teammates to pass forward.
The entire MK Dons squad cost just £235,000 - less than what Wayne Rooney earns in one week.
+8
Yup no excuses for losing out to them even with reserve and bench players. We were clueless and some of these young players needed a slap on the face to wake up and work harder
+1
Rooney should use his wages to buy all of mk dons
I get what you're saying but that's a decieving stat. Most players that play in the lower leagues join on free transfers. Very rarely is a money amount attatched to a lower league transfer. And it's usually a nominal amount like £50-£100k. The budget for salaries is way higher than 1/2 of a weeks pay for Rooney. On average Championship League clubs make about 30% of what PL clubs do. And almost every penny goes to player salaries.
OT: But anyone here watch The Legend of Korra? I know it's an animated show, but it's mature, nuanced and has very high production values. If you like Asian lore/Great animation/Compelling storytelling, you should watch it. The recent season was incredible.
I agree! Both Avatar Storylines (Aang and Korra) are some of the best stories made today. It's a shame the film was terrible. The ending was very profound this time around instead of the usual epic endings. I wonder what the next season will bring. I would suggest people watch the last airbender first to get some context though.
Zaheer is a fricking boss! Watch Hunter x Hunter that s**t is on another level.

i love it!!!!! season 2 was bad but i love avatar!!!!!!!!!!!

@bluff me2, with naruto and full metal alchemist added to it
And freaking Nick has the nerve to take it off air
The only anime i'v seen are Death Note and DBZ
Also see: Attack on Titan.
+1
i heard Boku No Pico is pretty good

But season 3 was a lot better than 1 and 2 of korra.
@BearWithFish

Hahaha I searched Boku no Pico on google it's hentai bro LOL

Best anime that I've watched are:

1.DBZ
2.Hajime no Ippo
3.Hunter x Hunter
4.Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
5.Attack on Titan
6.Naruto

These are the ones I've watched.
^ i know but the genre is whats the best part of it
Utd is heading out of carling cup
MK killing them
4-0 my word.
Wtf, 4-0 against MK Dons is ridiculous even if they used bench players.
+3
You know Man Utd have fallen from grace when losing 4-0 to a League 1 side is no big deal lol
+6
United should be counting their blessings that Di Maria signed before the game
+2
@LumpofCelery the level of confidence at United is unbelievably low. It goes to show how good SAF was for using mediocre players over the years. It's like their bubbled world class was burst after he retired. People criticised SAF and Mou as being overaggressive but it's what great managers need to be. I think United still lack confidence and the desire to win

Cheasea went 1 goal down aganst Burnley and they played like they still knew that they were going to win for sure
Everton sign Eto'o.

Good deal for them, they didn't have any good enough backup for Lukaku.
What if Lukaku hands in a transfer request because Eto'o starts ahead of him for a game? :P

"I came to the dressing room. Roberto winked at me and I saw Eto'o. I was like 'Woah'"
