Congratulations to Jose Mourinho for getting his dream job

+1
Here's hoping it doesn't become our nightmare and the same people happy he's gone don't eventually start reminiscing about the good times with him, wishing he wasn't sacked. Lol
+1
Meh here's hoping he sends Mata, Herrera and Martial over this way and gets little horse United in top 6 next year

I am of the opinion that Jose's best years are behind him of which we benefitted the most. I remember back in 2004 when he just broke onto the world football stage with swagger and an enormous amount of self confidence which we fell for. 10 years later that swagger is gone and what is left is unnecessary arrogance and a shifty attitude. Jose's team losing a match in his first 5 years on the world stage was a bit of a collector's item but in the last 5 years he's lost more games than u would expect.

José is and always will be one of the greatest Managers of all time but now in 2016 u cannot ignore the likes of Simeone, Garcia(Barca), Klopp, Emery, Pochetino, Koeman etc who have all exceeded expectations and look ready to take over from Jose's generation. Needless to say these Managers have enjoyed varying degrees of success against Jose's teams.

If u want to know my wishes for José.. I hope he finishes behind us as we win the title for the duration of his United career. Yes..a friend of my enemy is my enemy. That sounds a bit extreme but u know what I mean;)

Good point Naija, that's what I thought.
Jose Mourinho to United has all the ingredients to be another Jimmy Greaves story.
Apparently we own 'Jose Mourinho' name and signature as a trademark... Did not know that.

http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/36382637
to be honest if we are not buying Pogba and any star striker - we will be 3rd contender behind Manchester clubs
Pogba? Lol, why would he ruin his career by coming here at this stage.
+5
How many star players did Leicester, Tottenham , Arsenal, Southampton and West Ham buy to finish above us? The only team that has consistently paid huge transfer fees in recent years are the 2 Mancunian Clubs and how many trophies or success have they had in the last 3 seasons?

We need to rid ourselves of this big spending mentality. All we need is a good coach and a very motivated squad. Next season won't be easy for anybody..not Pep nor José nor Wenger nor Pochetino nor Ranieri. If anything Koeman might just be the one to watch next season. It took only half a season for the league to unravel our style of play which forced us to go back to the basics to see out our title winning run in. It can happen to anyone

+5
yes, Naija you are cent percent right...but now coach at Manchester clubs are changed... I know Mou screwd us here but It was actual real set back for him in his career as manager. he has changed clubs, forced to leave etc but not for his performance particularly.... last year was real ego buster for Mou. He will be smarter, less arrogant. Pep bein pep will make City better only.
last year was exceptional season - probabaly once in 10-15 years. Leicester, Tottenham Southampton and West Ham (why put Arsenal with those names).. did good without spending too much but you cant go long in europe without spending mony. Conte needs best players with better abilities and skilled player to fight off two genius Managers of this game. Never had so much reputation at stake in EPL

PS hoping Pogba might want to join back Conte ? his Mentor
@Mumbai u make me laugh, behind Manchester clubs ?! XD hahaha

Imo Chelsea ve a better squad than any other club in this world, ok maybe we need ONLY 1 CB, and maybe 1 ST, Utd is shet imo with average players(except Rooney but even he go down alot) not even average, and City we all saw how they played on Bernabeu, they didnt created 1 real chance to score

Chelsea needs 1 world class CB like Hummels or any other world class CB, and 1 backup ST for Costa. And is my opinion Azpilicueta and Cahill still not good enough for Chelsea. So we need 2world class CBs and 1 world class LB

IF this Chelsea team play well I dont ve any emotion that we dont win the title, its important for Costa, Fabregas, Hazard, Willian, Matic, and also the defence especially the 2CBs to perform and CHELSEA will be champions again !

By the way we dont need Pogba, we ve the best CM in the world Fabregas plus the best cdm in the world Matic, Pogba still need to grow up to become like Fabregas, for me Fabregas and Modric are the best CMs in the world
All we need is a new worldclass striker, a worldclass left winger, a worldclass CM to pair Matic, Matic to go back to his worldclass self, 2 new worldclass CBs, a new worldclass LB, and Courtois to go back to his worldclass self.

If we wanted to get a little greedy we could also ask for a worldclass CF and a worldclass AM for depth. That's all we need!

^Thats what I hear when I see most people talking about new signings. This is true for both Chelsea fans and others. Some United fan was talking about ONLY needing 3 worldclass and 5 total new signings the other day. I know it's a cliche, but this isn't FIFA/FM

Kgb..lol.thank goodness we have a billionaire benefactor who's spent nearly a billion on the Club in a little over a decade so we must make him spend another billion to satisfy our outrageous taste.

I for one only want to see us develop a style of play and create an identity. We have won a lot in 10 years and I'm not too fussed if we spend the next couple of seasons forging a style of play and finishing in the CL spots.

As for transfers an experienced CB and an energetic/pacy CM/DM would do although I think if we cant get the level of quality in this window then we should give one or two of Mvg,Chalobah, Pasalic and Baker a chance next season. Aina can be our 3rd RB behind Azpi and Ivan with the view of getting rid of Ivan next summer. In the forward line we have Cesc,Hazard,Pedro,Costa,Willian and Oscar who are all WC players on their day. Kennedy, Traore, Pato, RLC, Piazon are reasonable back ups.

I may sound a bit too optimistic or casual about the challenges we'll face next season but I dont think spending money especially now most Clubs will be looking to take advantage of our non CL season to take as much money as they can from us. On the other hand the level of players we require may not likely be willing to join us for next season so I think we should look within the Club for solutions. Instead of signing a Djiboloji we should give a Clarke-Salter an opportunity etc
LOL KGB!
KGB. You're too funny but truth hurts.
Cheer up guys! It's time to move on. Jose will forever have our support but he's a rival now. "honey-moon period is over"

Now, look at it this way, we'll be "unattractive" next season as far as the media and rivals are concerned. Unless when we play Mou. This can actually be a good thing.

Why? it will give Conte some peace of mind to concentrate on his squad.

Also, for once in a long time, we wont be the most hated club in England. United will probably take back that title of most hated with Mou at helm.

Of course there will always be pressure but it's up to us, the players and the board to try and find some positives through this period.

Conte is a question mark with close to zero European pedigree. so he will really need our help and support.

Time to say goodbye to Mou, former players and all them blame games. It's all in the past.

Let's welcome a new Chelsea Era; let's stand by the club; let's stand by the players we have , support incoming ones and stand by Conte.

Keep The Blue Flag Flying High.....and we better not lose fans to United :-p
+5
i agree with you on everything , on your last point i dont care if we loss fans to United , if some fans jump to United coz of Mou then they better prepare to jump to many clubs after 2 or 3 yrs and will finally switch their nationality to Portugal when Mou finally decides to manage Portugal at the later stage of his career.
@Obinocarlo or who said above that we will lose fans to Utd bc Jose goes there ....wtf are u guys real ?! Than the other fans ve all the right to call us "plastic fans" . WTF man

I support Chelsea since 2006(thats bc since than I discovered the best football in the world) but I swear to God I didnt even know that we ve a russian bilionaire at the helm, and EVEN IF I would know that I wouldnt ve any problem with this, I just dont understand people why they are so mad about Chelseas owner, its a russial abuse or what !? Look at Real M, Barcelona I dont care bc they ve money from thier country from the country budget, but imo that is a shame to pay 80-90 mil pounds for 1 player like Real did, 2 players = 180 mil wtf that is a shame
+1
you are confusing yourself so i have to also ask you to get real, this is where i pick up my point....
"Keep The Blue Flag Flying High.....and we better not lose fans to United :-p"

you better read well before jumping to conclusions..
@Obinocarlo ur comment ".....and we better not lose fans to United "

Again I ask u why u wrote that ?! Bc u think that we lose some fans bc Jose goes to Utd no ?!
Thats I m saying ur thinking about Chelsea fans is weak.

IF some fans will become Utd fans just bc Jose is there imo they are "plastic fans", weak fans.
Imo u cant just change ur favorite team just bc ur fav manager is at another club.
Can I ask u, u think when Jose goes to Inter we lost some fans bc of that ?! hahaha

Your thinking about losing fans to Utd, maybe is right when we talking about 10y-20y old fans, but adults fans like over 23y never give up at thier beloved club to bc a fan of an AVERAGE TEAM LIKE UTD just bc Jose is there

You think me I ve a good opinion about what Jose did to Chelsea in his last 17 games at Chelsea, bro he made the biggest negative time of his Chelsea carrer. You think I welcome he back at Chelsea after what he did ?! He was guilty not the Chelsea stars. He lost the team ! Imo now he ve to prove again that hes a good manager after the disastrous period at Chelsea. And will not be so easy at Utd, look at LvG what he did at Utd, Jose will ve a difficult task at Utd bc thier team is full of average players.
Would you do a straight swap Mata for Oscar?
Yes
+9
No
+5
Mata + 10m
Oscar + 10m
I'm done seeing our players playing for rivals.
we can also add him, doesnt have to be a straight swap
Yes.......
& No......
Oscar is Mou's boy and Mata is not. That gives us the upper hand in such a negotiation. I'd probably ask for Mata + £25m, simply because Mou might just pay it.
I'll swap anyone for Oscar. This guy can be absolute world class at times but consistency really kills his game.
I still think Oscar at 24 still has much to offer and I think Conte will fit him in a position more suitable for his skillset. At worse he can be a quality back up something we've not had since the Matas and KdBs left.
OSCAR imo is better than any other CAM in this world. For me Oscar and James are the best. Mata lol Chelsea dont need him
Guys i'm scared for Chelsea :(
+4
No need to mate...it can't be as bad as tge just concluded season. No team has actually dominated the league in the last four years with 4 different champions in that time. Pep and José will have never faced such competition before and in this league Pep will spend the first 2 years trying to figure out how to break down teams who will unashamedly defend for 90mins which is something he has struggled with most of his career.

José is a great manager but not invincible.. I'll leave it at that bcos of the love and respect I still have for him.

Conte may be coming to a totally different league but he'll have a bunch of players eager to right the wrong of this season and he himself is also a very passionate and determined winner. He's a manager who actually builds a style of play according to the talents at his disposal.

I look forward with enthusiasm :)
+2
What are you scared off Ethio o'Boyo?
conte is a good manager, im excited to see what he can bring to the league.
I'll admit I don't know much about Conte and his style. We'll see I guess
he won 3 in a row with juve didn't he? he wasn't as successful in europe but i think he's a top manager.
Conte is a fantastic manager! He turned Juve around. I think he thrives in competition. Conquering BPL is the hardest thing to do for any more since it's the most competitive. Chelsea is in good hands I think. You have the same talented squad from your title-winning season and a new slate.
bring mata back to chelsea
+2
😂😂😂😂 lol poor mata
Mourinho to Mata: Did you miss me?
+2
I imagine the awkwardness level when he first walks into the changing room and sees Mata

I like it
This is good as long as it doesn't interfere with Conte's job. On another hand the cynic in me sees this as putting a safe option in place should Conte find himself in perilous waters and not able to find a way out.
