Mason sign a 5 year contract

CHO next
We have created many chances but no goal
4-0 but Bakayoko is still Bakayoko!
PSG are interested in signing Bakayoko. We should sell him. He makes too many mistakes and poor first touch most of the times.
Mason Mount and Michy have been our best player
Mount has been really good today. Michy should work on his finishing. I wouldn't be surprised if Lampard goes with 2 strikers - Giroud and Michy.
I thought Michy was brilliant, tough he didn't score his movement and skills were impressive and it's good to see Giroud on good form

I would like to see CP or Willian in the CAM position though Barkley was good
Agree, Michy was good at everything except finishing. He can hold off defenders, movement was great. He just needs to find a way to score. All his shots were at the GK.
442 with a diamond
I like this formation with attack from Center and not from wings. Also players are pressing hard to get ball from opponents.
+1
It was really good in 1st half, strikers both need more chemistry but for thier first natch it was good, when we reverted to a 4231 we didn't look as good
Apparently #Lampardout was trending on Twitter 😖😖😖

Ffs
Definitely by rival fans and stupid English pundits ...Trolls have nothing to do since season starts in a month
Well what has he accomplished so far? Has he even won a game yet??
It’s preseason, it doesn’t mean a thing. Especially if it’s a coach’s first year. He needs to get a feel for the team, that’s what preseason is for. Experimentation.
It started as sarcasm and some trolls and media are having fun time with it.
At a club that changes coaches every year or sometime even every half season this should be expected.
Not sure how it’s related to changing coaches.
@S2killinit i will explain. When coaches get fired so easily and so fast there is a high chance Lampard will also get fired easily and fast. Don't think its that difficult to understand.
So are you saying that because he tied a preseason game the trolling is justified? It seems like a silly comment, that’s all. I don’t think trolling has any basis in rationality or facts. Probably wishful thinking by people who are hoping he fails, not by Chelsea fans.
S2kill - I suggest dont read too much into what Footballcity says....you will find it hard. Some trolls trend it for a fun and he is trying to find logic in that LOL!
+1
though its preseason that was so boring

on the bright side Michy and Ampodu looked good in the 1st half
1-0

Michy
Azpi starting at CB
Welcome back to England, Diego!
I'll be surprised if it happens
Selling him was a big mistake, regardless of his attitude Conte should have just put up with it.
I disagree, he was a beast but he was hard to deal with, JM also had the same problem it would of happened with Sarri

And his goalscoring form has declined as well, Morata has more goals than Costa for AM and he went in January
+1
Costa has way more goals than Morata for Chelsea...Costa plays physical always on the edge, which fits perfectly the EPL.
Costa is definitely a better player than Morata. But his attitude cannot be tolerated. There was always this fear that Costa might get into a fight or get red card or ban. Towards the end of his Chelsea career, we hardly got decisions in our favor if Costa is involved.
Costa has scored 11 goals in 42 appearances since rejoining AM.

Let's be VERY clear, 2019 Costa is not the same as 2012-2017 Costa. It was not a mistake to sell him for 66m euros. The mistake was failing to replace him well.
Lampard is a legend. I just wish he was hired at a time when the team didn’t have the transfer ban hanging over his term. He can’t sign anyone and yet he is expected to both maintain the performance and to build on it. If he manages to do it, he is performing a miracle.
+1
I think it is a good time. With transfer ban there will be less expectation win trophies this year. Also with Hazard gone, its good time to start building a new team and create a new identity. Bringing back Cech, Makelele, Lampard is a good move as they know what it means to be at the club. I have a very good feeling about this.
+3
^i agree, the ban is a blessing in disguise for Lampard, other than a striker we have more than enough depth, there is so much opportunity for player we loaned out, Zouma, Bakayoko, Mount, James, Tammy and Michy will all have a chance to impress and they'll be like new signing and it'll change the dynamic of the team

Losing Hazard is the biggest blow but it will give chances to CHO and Pulisic to express and expand their games
+3
Ok I can see what you guys mean. I didn’t think about it that way. But you maybe on to something. Basically the transfer ban signals to everyone at the club that this is their time to shine. They have a true leader in Lampard, and this is their opportunity which they wouldn’t have had without the transfer ban. If everyone goes in to compete it will benefit the team.
+1
^totally agree
+1
I think the main reason Lampard was picked was because of the ban. Most top managers probably would want to make their own changes, especially after losing a player like hazard... Lampard club legend is just happy to be given this chance, he probably won't complain much and try and make the best of it. It's a stopgap signing that also buys good will from the fans
Ideally a club should have an identity or playing style and all signings should be to suit that style. Managers should be hired basis that. This ensures that even if a manager leaves, players can be utilized by next manager. Dortmund is following this and they are hiring managers suitable for their style of play. City already had many players suitable for Pep's style even before he arrived.
With Chelsea, it has not been the same in recent years. Conte used Moses who was not suitable for Sarri and we sold him. We dont know if Jorginho will play regularly under Lampard. Bringing Cech is an important step in this. We need to have a playing style and all our signings should be basis this and not our manager. Manager might leave in 2-3 years but selling players whenever a new manager is coming is not good for the club.

@SIF I dont think signing Lampard is because of the ban. Sarri was not fan favorite. Fans booed him for playing Kante out of his position. Secondly our club has not been the same since Lamps, Drogba, Cech all left. So we wanted someone who knows what it means to be with the club. Also club is confident that Lampard can integrate youth with senior team which is a major concern for Chelsea. We have the best youth academy in England and hardly we see players making into first team. Lampard has Jody Morris as his assistant who has worked with our youth academy players and knows them very well.
+1
if there was no ban i believe chelsea would try for a more experienced manager, but that's just my opinion. if lampard is still there next summer i will be surprised. i hope he does well but not at our expense lol.
I would think he would get two full seasons, or there about, before having to worry about being sacked.
