Yep, @matic
Hi Everyone Do you guys think Cech being in goal for Arsenal made any difference or were we just so poor yesterday. I hate that we didn't really threaten Cech at all. Apart from that Oscar freekick he was basically on holidays throughout. In the post match interview Wenger was making comment like maybe because Cech was in goal our players were having it in the back of their minds that they can't beat him. I hope this is not true. By Sept 19 when we face them in the PL we will give a better performance and our players will score against Cech.

He certainly made a difference. Look at how commanding he was and also.. his presence .

He's sooo up for it yesterday . How he comes out for corners sweeping the ball away(rarely does that for us lol hed just stay in his line)

chelc did trouble our defense without a doubt...ramires and hazard both had golden open goal chances.....it just wasn't your day that's all

We lacked match fitness and that has nothing to do with Cech. Ramires and Hazard missed sitters and I dont see how Cech could have saved those chances if they were properly taken. Also Oscar's freekick was very saveable as it was not going in the corner and wasnt travelling at a good enough speed.

But Cech has improved Arsenal no doubt and he is still a Chelsea legend but we had him when we finished 6th in the league, got bloen away in the Super Cup vs Atletico, same Atletico embarassed us in the semi finals last year just to mention a few. I think the significance of the signing is slightly exaggerated because of the mediocrity of Arsenal's GKs in recent years.

The real answer will come at the end if the season until then nothing has been won yet so lets not get ahead of ourselves.
Falcao will start against Fiorentina.

Costa might miss opening game of the season, so final chance for him or Remy to book a starting place.
I don't expect much from Falcao until he can get a few consecutive 90mins of football with the team.
Moses deserves a start too. I think they will compliment eachother. Moses with his crosses and Falcao with the aerial skills. Hopefull we get to see both play a large role this year.

I bet Cuadrado will start . Colombian connection. Plus been so long ay he starts a game lol
Guys when is the fiorentina game?
Wednesday
and EPL on Saturday evening
I know we have a few questionable areas of concern like:

1) The lack of creativity and goals in the event of the dip in form or fitness of a Fabregas, Hazard or Costa (and boy did he dip in the CS).

2) The tiredness of Matic, Azpi, Brana due to lack of proper back-ups and lack of rotation in respective departments (and bizarre selling of Luis)

3) But the thing that really pisses me off is why did we not fix this Costa hamstring problem when he had like 1.5 months off? He wasn't even on Spanish duty?

We have looked so tired for so long, i think this "trusting champions philosophy" will haunt us.

Edit: btw, results from CS betting game are posted
I agree with all of your points but i also think there is another way of looking at these issues.

1. Hazard,Costa,Fabregas and Oscar are the most creative members of our team but Moses,Remy,Willian and even Cuadrado are also creative in their own way and are definitely good enough back up to the Hazard,Fab, Oscar and Costa group.

2.Tiredness I believe comes results from playing too many matches in too short a time but that is not the case here. I think the players you mentioned are lacking match fitness. By this time last year we already played about 7 matches in pre season which translated to our strong start but thus far most big clubs have played more pre season matches than we did and this yesterday was our first game back in familiar shores after about a month in North America with the corresponding difference in time zones and all.

3. Costa's hamstring is something we must learn to live with because it has been a regular feature over his career. it would have been nice to get it fixed during the summer but that would probably mean him not enjoying his holidays which i think would be unfair after the season he had helping us to two trophies. Also sometimes u cant do much about these hamstring stuff as they are quite unpredictable as are most injuries and I think they are usually more vulnerable coming back from a long break from regular football. So I believe as the season progresses the hamstrings will get into shape and rythm to last a bit longer.

All in all we havent prepared for the season opener as well as we did for last season and that is why we look tired and not up to scratch but it is no cause for alarm imo.
Nobody is tired dude...why do you always think that...its the start of the season...how can these guys be tired at the start of the season

I didn't see tired legs...i saw somewhat unfit legs

I trust our physios in that department yes.

But i do agree we need competition in every position to avoid conplacency
I think Bluff means their future exhaustion on account of lack of rotation.
Btw, how bad was Ivanovic in the second half yesterday? Soooo sloppy in possession, made bad crosses, slow passes always intercepted. Just very bad. I really cant wait to have a young hungry RB to displace him or give him some competition.. stones would've been that guy but looks unlikely atm
Yes he was. I thought terry was rubbish too...and azpi no good either
Stones is not really a RB
I say it all the time, why the hell doesn't Mou put Azpi back at RB and stick Ivanovic at CB? When you had F.Luis it would have been the perfect time to do this.
Yea but he plays rb at everton alot and he has alot of composure and good passing and aerial threat lol. He kinda ticks all the boxes as an Ivanovic replacement

I cam imagine Mou putting him at RB
@Deffy: Because Ivanovic is an easy outball from goalkicks to the RW. He wins 70% of the headers, with many of them going to the feet of Costa, or to one of the CAMs.

I'd like him to abandon this, but he won't do it till it keep producing results. I don't blame him for not fixing what is not broken, yet.
Will it get to a point where Radamel Falco will need the pushing and support of the fans to encourage him to score his first and more goals for us similar to how the fans get behind Torres to push him to score. Or is it aint that bad as we imagine
Still assessing Falcao. He needs games to find his form. Looks like he'll start against Fiorentina. Can't judge a guy by a few preseason games where he didn't even play the full 90.
I like how Falcao likes to attempt overhead kicks lol. Had that instinct

Willian looks very good everytime he plays CAm. I hope moses play vs Swansea.

------Falcao------
-Hazard--Willi---Moses
-----Matic--Fabregas--
-Azpi-Terry--Cahill-Ivan
I want Oscar to start

^ same here. I was shocked when Jose did not start Oscar vs Arsenal yesterday knowing Oscar is our best pressing trigger and opposition CM hassler if that makes sense :P
