Can't wait vs City. Im excited yet nervous. Interesting to see how our recent leaky defence and formidable attack fare against thr current champions, away
Diego Costa's evolution involved taking a back seat to Forlan, Aguero and Falcao. He fought his way through La liga's second tier for 2 seasons while Athletico sought higher profile players to carry the team. When he was finally first choice Athletico had what was arguably their best season ever. Quite the struggle he had but he's honed his skills while learning from some of the best strikers in the world. Now he's one of them. ;)

Luquidator, could you check your wall mate. Gracias.
Done so.
my lineup vs city

Hazard---Costa--Schurrle

Matic--Cesc--Willian

azpi--terry--cahill--Bane

I hope Mou unleashes Willian on Toure again, mabe drop Cesc for Rami or Oscar for a stronger midfield

+1
What a line up, I fear for a tired Demichelis.
Hazard---Costa--Schurrle

Matic--Cesc--Ramires

Luis--terry--cahill--Bane

sub: Remy , Willian and Oscar
+2
swap willian with schurrle and then swap schurrle with ramires and yea that would be it

Mourinho always has something up his sleeve, and this time i think it will be Mikel starting. Our midfield is just not stable at the moment, and our defenders need the extra protection.

Mikel-Matic-Ramires-Cesc midfield. Hazard free role to drift and Costa up front is my guess right now.
Theo, not a terrible idea. But I think it would play out more like this:

-------Mikel-------
Matic-Ramires
-------Cesc-------
Costa-Hazard
RETURN OF THE DIAMOND!

Everton (Lukaku) v Wolfsburg (KDB) in Europa today. Wondering if they still think they made the right decision for themselves?
Lukaku's decision was right..because there is no way he would have started ahead of Costa. I think Everton bought him with a plan to develop him for couple of years and sell him back to some big club with a profit.

KDB screwed it by joining a mid table team in German league...He should have moved to spain(AM) or Italy(Milan or Roma) instead...There is no way he getting out of that sh*t now.
KDB should have done like Lukaku from the beginning he would have been starting for Dortmund right now his career stalled a little and is less confident but he is getting playing time and gradually getting back to form
Yes, I remember once Dortmund came for him and we rejected the bid or something...If he improves and performance like he does for national team..maybe might grab attention of Dortmund again.
Wolfsburg isn't "sh*t* they're probably the same level as everton. KdB has also been playing fine since signing for them.
If Lukaku stayed, he would have started against Schalke
If Lukaku stayed it would be 10 years on the bench before he got his chance. :D

I don't see how going to either Milan team is an upgrade from VfL right now, it's not the late 90s early 2000s. He's been playing well for them, VfL is a decent team, but they certainly looked awful today. He'll be at BvB soon.
I know we have a silly amount of number 10's already...but I really want Draxler!
Lol you have no idea how bad I want him here.
After we sell Hazard to Real in couple of seasons
More than likely, but you never know. I think he should go to Dortmund if he doesn't come to England.
I have a feeling he is Arsenal bound... idk why though
Saucy - Maybe because they were linked with him few seasons back...But not a problem..He can play there for couple of seasons get fully ready and then move to a BIGGER club to win trophies....like people do year after year Cesc, song,Nasri,RVP etc. etc.. :D
We're off AM's and onto strikers now. :D Would Fabregas or Oscar take a back seat to Draxler? Signing him might rock the boat a bit. He'd be in the same situation KDB found himself in. Probably wouldn't settle for being a bit part player. But what do I know?
Draxler is bayerns
Jose sums it up. "If you don't kill, you die."

guy's will costa play sunday's game ??
FYI, he'll be in doubt every week but Jose will play him at the end.
100% He will start on Sunday..only reason why he was rested yesterday
Most likely. Apparently he's still not 100% recovered from his hamstring injury but Fit enough to play yesterday so the chances are high he'll start.
Diego Costa is not human, he doesn't understand the word injury :P
Trust me if mou is he is not 100% fit..he will score 2 or 3..for sure..:P
no he is not. i think you should take him out your fantasy team if you have him :P
Lampard's alltime strating XI accompanied by some random porn music. :D

Bear in mind that Drogba hasnt played competitive consistent football quite awhile. He will get back his sharpness with more appearance. Despite his obvious decline in pace ,strength, he's still a classy and quality player.

- He still have that instict in front of goal even though he was unlucky not to score that 1v1 chance (awesome thru ball by Hazard).

- classic Drogba knock down for hazard in the first half.

- He still get into good attacking position.(brilliant play by Willian on the right with a hard low cross)

And Be thankful that we have Costa and Remy as alternatives!

Today's draw is nothing to be ashamed of. We fought hard and we were only so unlucky in front of goal. Schalke did capitalize their chance. I think 99.9% of people here understand the condition with Drogba being older than most of professional footballers and we are still proud of him to be here. And we all know that 0.1% here. Schalke should be mad that they almost lost to a team with a 36 year old striker up front. :p
Drogba should have got on the end of the Willian cross. And Fabregas missed an open goal pretty much. Hazard also had two chances which you'd expect him to put away with ease. Then there were 2 goal line clearances. Just need to be more clinical.

bare in mind that Schalke couldn't put on a entire squad for this game. EVERYONE and I mean, EVERYONE here in germany thought Schalke would get trashed, because of their domestic form and looooooong list of injured players. When I saw Chelsea's formation I know Mou didn't bring out the best starting XI because he thought the line-up might suffice against this weakened Schalke team (which hasn't won a single game this season yet).

so Schalke is moooooore than happy to take away that point.

Mourinho should be mad for taking those 3 points for granted.

Keller was on the verge of losing his job if he lost yesterday.

Steevex: "I know Mou didn't bring out the best starting XI" - Not really true with the exception of Drogba. Most likely that same team will verse City on Sunday with Azpi and Costa instead (and maybe Oscar for Willian), it was hardly a weakened team. Costa was also unfit and Mou did say it is unlikely that Costa will play 3 games a week, so it was the strongest we had under the circumstances (except we should have played Remy in place Didi)
@Steveex We are very generous team. Now Keller can keep his job (for now).
I thought Drogba did fine considering his fitness level and age.

He did well making decoy runs in order for the 3 attacking midfielders behind him to get space. The only thing lacking was the finish.
Schalke draw Bayern and Chelsea. But they loose to anyone else.
strange team

I think Mourinho has to take some blame for the draw:

1. It's a Champions League match against the strongest team of your group. If you don't want to play the in form on fire striker, at least play the scored a goal 9 minutes after coming on in his debut striker, rather than a legend but not that great and actually is third choice striker. That Costa us :P

2. Remy was playing LW the last few minutes, with Hazard switching to the right. I didn't like this. Hazard was really playing well on the left, why change that? I'd have played Schurrle right, and Hazard would've stayed left.

3. He stopped the ball with his feet towards the end. He should have taken a touch, and BOOM! Scored :D (1 and 2 are serious though :P)
@Niru

"Costa has a problem and he can’t play three matches in a row at the moment. If he has one week to let the muscle recover he can start a game, like he did after picking up the problem with the national team. But, after playing on Saturday three days is not enough time for him to recover."

Mourinho is to take some blame for this for sure. I don't understand why he started DD, and even more baffling why he didn't take him off sooner. I'm not to bothered though, this won't affect us too much in the long run, we'll learn from this.

But i didn't like the fact that we took it easy after we scored, that has to stop. Overconfidence killed us. Also, i hope Luis starts vs City, it's a stretch but he looked good yesterday.
Calm down guys...the game against Schalke was the most convenient time to try new things or give DD a run out knowing that whatever happens we xan then wirk doubly hard to make sure we finish top of the table. What happened last night was a reminder of our shortcomings last season..lack of finishing. The difference is this time around it was a controlled experiment by Mou and not for lack of firepower and to make things better the other game in our group ended with same scoreline. Nothing to worry about at all
+1
If there is anything to worry about..its about the city game on sunday, because its either going to keep our winning streak going and give us the momentum to clinch the title or break the momentum and bring all our rivals back in contention.

We just cant afford to lose this game now..win or worst case draw.
@Ayyam, I wanted Remy to start. But as Naija says, it's one of the best games to not win, because it might not cost us. So this result, though not good, won't make this page gloomy :)
