Btw what's wrong with Ramires i thought he was fit and would at least start in one of those games and Fab playing more advanced position i would love to see Fabregas in #10 for one match

Stamford Bridge is a fortress again!

I like the new Hazard-Willian -Oscar ball play combination. It's almost as if they know what the other guy will do/be next
**sorry for the fu*cked up formatting but you should still be able to understand it.**

A few days earlier me and Naota were discussing why we don't blow out teams anymore. I think those stats answer the question. Unless Costa scores a hatty every game, we won't win a game by more than a 1-2 goal margin.

With the amount of shots and goal scoring positions that our attacking players find themselves in, their conversion rate is piss poor. Look at WIllian.... he has the exact same stats as Mikel (1 goal, 1 assist)

Everything is fine now but later on in the season when we're playing deep into the CL competition and fighting for the League/FA cup we'll need to be more efficient and clinical. Against very good teams sometimes all you'll get is 2-3 chances in 90mns. If these players were just a bit more clinical we'd be smashing teams by puting 6-7 goals past them. (like the carlo days)
And someone said Willian is not useless in attack. Schurrle hasn't started or played more than 15 mins in months (PL) and still has more goals lol.

I also expect more goals from Fabregas, but he's been playing CM and his long shots aren't the best.
+3
lol Yesterday I responded to someone by saying "WIllian is useless in attack, but is great defensively" and I got slaughtered. I don't give a damn if he starts counters or not. I've seen him countless times where he has a clear goal scoring/assisting opportunity but he squanders it, time and time again.

I've said this before but, there's no difference if we play a left back in the place of willian. Sometimes he reminds me of Torres, where he does everything well besides his primary job. Run run run, chase chase chase but has 1 goal and 1 assist.
+3
His end product is disgusting. He will continue to play because his work-rate really does help the team. But I keep saying he and Oscar shouldn't play together a lot. It just limits our attack x2.

Schurrle should be in the '3' for the weaker teams, and Fabregas in there for the tough games.
+2
"His end product is disgusting. He will continue to play because his work-rate" - Very True

If there is any position in which we are not 100% it has to be RW because of Willian's weaknesses with final ball and shooting.

He has fantastic work rate and a nice guy to have in the team..but that does not justify the 33m money we paid for him..thats same we paid for Costa , Hazard and more than what we paid for Cesc.
+1
I know we're singling out Willian since he's the weakest link, in terms of goals/assists. However, the rest aren't significantly any better. Hazard only has 4 goals from open play (2 are pens), same with Oscar 3 goals. They all get into great goal scoring positions but they all squander it the vast majority of the time.

If they converted all those 1v1 chances they shot right at the keeper's face, they'd have 7-8 goals each (Hazard would be in double digits)
Think of him as improved version of Ramires. Although Ramires would have scored a little bit more. I don't think RW is his best position.

I think the reason that he looked more lively last match was he was playing more in the middle pushing constantly switching position with Oscar or Hazard. He stole so many balls headed away from either Costa or defenders. He read the ball and as quickly as he is, he takes the ball and dribble away to increase our possession. He did that about 4-5 times during the match.

So to lessen your stress about him scoring, try to compare him as Ramires or Ji Sung Park. Both guys mentioned play on the wings and help defense as much as they can and will run at the second we gain the possession back. I do want Willian to have better records but as long as we are getting good results as a team then we can say that he is the part of the solution of a formula that wins.
Ram had more goals and assists he also made those runs from midfield that were hard to track he is more of an attacking threat then Willian .
I agree with theo that he should be rotated with Oscar and Schurrle playing Willian every match is not necessary when we have Matic in DM playing both Willian and Oscar together gives us no width specially since or full backs play deeper then most teams and Willian tendency to play in the middle
okay so halfway through the season, candidates for EPL POTY?
Mine would be

matic
de gea
sanchez
fabregas
aguero

what do you think?
+1
If we win the league, I think Matic should get the award. He is the difference that makes the winner and loser every match. Although Sanchez is the Arsenal's best player, I don't think he has done enough to be awarded tbh. And Aguero has been injured quiet too often, but I don't know if that will be taken as a factor for the award.
+1
Matic
Fabregas
De gea
Sanchez
Pelle
Valencia
Agureo
Matic is a DM, the chances of him winning anything are very slim.

Aguero is favourite if he comes back from injury and plays at the same level. Otherwise I think it will be Fabregas.

(It's worth noting that the voting is done around Jan/Feb so the next month or so will be crucial.)
Sanchez is great..but unfortunately he is playing for wrong team and has no chances of trophies or any individual honors.

De gea? Keeper wont win it for sure..so it one of the below

Aguero
Cesc
Costa
I dont think its fair to leave out Hazard from this list....
Plot twist, chelses confirm Torres's loan to ac milan will turn permanent.

http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2014/12/torres-makes-milan-move-permanent.html

This is probably so he can move to atletico. Either way this is great news for us. We dont need to pay half his wages anymore
+2
I was just thinking what an amazing year it's been for Chelsea in terms of transfers. You got rid of unneeded players for huge sums of money (Mata, Luiz, KDB, Lukaku) and brought in quality first team players for fair or even bargain prices. And now you finally got rid of Torres.

Only Salah maybe can be seen as a small stain on an otherwise perfect transfer sheet?

Whoever is in charge of your transfers deserves huge praise, I can't even do that on Football Manager.
+1
Salah will be gone soon, if not this window then certsinly the summer. Never ever rsted him tbf. Even when he scores for us he was nwvwr ever good enough
Torres moves to AC Milan on a permanent deal

Christmas just keeps on giving :P

Free?
Although we don't gain anything it seems from this transfer but we saved about £16 for his wages for next 1 1/2 years (based on the assumption we paid half of his wages).
Who do you guys think chelsea would have signed as an alternative to Fabregas, just curious
There aren't many players of his mould that are easily available...
I wouldn't mind moutinho
De Gea
+2
Maybe we'd have tried for Kroos?
+2
we went for AM Tiago but since he signed that contract we got Cesc
we were in for a DLP for quite a lot of time, came closest to getting modric but Levy was an asshole.
If we didn't sign Cesc, I don't think we would have signed a player like him. We were linked to mostly box-to-box mids.
West Ham fans are so kind, giving Xmas messages to John Terry :P
