Wakeup guys..looks like our first Signing of the summer is a hijack ..As we see off competition from Crystal Palace, West Ham and Juventus

Michy Batshuayi set for Chelsea medical before £33m move from Marseille

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/jun/28/michy-batshuayi-chelsea-medical-33m-marseille

Any insights on the player please ...Last time we signed a striker from Marseille. He became a club legend

If got great support n supply from our wing n midfield he will be very danger.his scoring record for marseille also quite impressive..
Got him on FIFA, seems decent lol
summon_Cloudst(Batshuayi);
Do you guys think conte's form during the euros bodes well for chelsea during the season? LvG famously beat spain 5-1, en route to winning 3rd place at the brazil world cup but struggled to replicate any of that form for United as we struggled heavily with his 3 at the back system in the league. Also, there clearly wasn't a player of Robben's caliber to score goals for us when it mattered. If conte medals, do you believe he will opt to mould his chelsea team after Italy (who undoubtedly have much less attacking quality than Chelsea), maintain the same type of tactics? And is that a good thing for CFC?
1. Like you clearly mentioned...LVG had players like RVP , Robben and set of quality players to get that results with Netherlands...Conte dose not have that luxury with current Italian team...So it is slightly different scenario.

2. It wont be easy for any manager coming into PL and start winning. If given time. I think Conte can build a solid team for future like he did at Juve....But again everyone needs time.

3. I dont think we have all the players required to mould the current team into a Juve or Italy type...So we have to make few signings especially at the back and DM,CM to give him what he wants

That was a poor dutch side. They were not predicted to even make the KO rounds and them missing the euros confirmed this. Without robben and rvp they probably miss the world cup all together. Remember they played with 5 at the back due to injuries and having rookie defenders and defensive mids. Iirc they were the youngest side in the tournament.

"Iceland team sheet:

Welldoneson, comeonson, wellplayedson, getinson, goodoneson, lolson, embarrassson, eyyyson, byeson, sackroyson, nexttimeson."

I'm sorry I couldn't resist...

Died at "embarrassson'

So Iceland only has "sons" no "daughters"?
They're in the ladies team, obviously.

you guys got a very good passionate manager :)

Wow he is really young too. Gotta love young managers who step it up in the big league
i am happy for the new managers gracing the EPL next season, i thought Jose is crazy on the touchline but Conte is more, i cant wait to have him.
Emanuele Giaccherini for below 10m can be a very good utility player...I know he is already 31. But the guy works really well in Conte's system.
+1
Italian footballers are really like fine wine, they get better with age. If their was an English footballer doing what Giacch does at 31, he would bust a hip. Guy can play in CM, out wide, wingback etc.
+1
Yeah look at Pirlo's career everyone though Milan was his swansong and he would be only a bit part at Juve he really resurrected another career that people remember him by

Spurs, Pool , United ,city and even Arsenal are buying and getting linked with good players....But we are the only club with no movement at all this season.

I know things will start moving faster once Conte is back...but i hope it wont be too late by then
I'm VERY concerned to be honest. Seems very similar to last year. Not a ton of signings, then we went off to pre-season and started the season not as prepared.

Very concerned.
I think Conte just wants to take things slowly. He is not the kind of manager to splurge on 200m worth of players. First season, he is just going to improve the defence, develop couple of youngsters and teach them the right way to defend. And play on the counter as Italy do all the time.

By his second year he will have an impenetrable defence and then add couple of world class strikers/AMs and do wonders. He knows Roman Abramovich is just a call away from opening his cheque book, but first he has to assess the squad and in a new league/country and everything.
Atleast that is what I think will happen.
well if you believe di marzio you tried to sign niangolan and are tying to sign witsel since roma wont sell. im sure more deals are being looked at as you were also linked with manolas at some point (we were linked as well).
well i dont like buying players that wont fit in the new coach system and as we can see Conte is fully concentrating on the Euros , so lets give him the time to analyse the players that will suit his play and the club will push the move fast.

for the first time i am happy that the club is not buying players out of the approval of the coach, we cant do worst than last season so we should allow him to fully analyse this team and build the team for years to come.

conte is busy with euros - we will be surely in news after euros
And di marzio said you just finalized a deal for batuiashai or w/e. Another Belgian for the collection.
How do people actually feel about the future of the world cups and Fifa?

I mean ever since it was discovered and disclosed that fifas corruption goes al the way back to Havelange, and Blatter and platini facing charges and prison time. I have been debating weather to boycot the tournament altogether.

Russia and Qatar are the next two countries hosting, but knowing that both places were bought and sold between the two countries and Fifa, how can one participate with a clean conscience? It actually came out in the report, that both Qatar and Russia placed dead last on their respective evaluations before they were " elected"

I love the World Cup and I've enjoyed watching these Euros so much, probably because I know it will be the last time in 4 years I'll be watching international finals.

I think I will boycot first the Russian World Cup, and I'll have to explain to my kids why they can't watch it at our house, I can just hope that both countries get disqualified by the trials of the ex presidents before 2018. Or at least there is a new and fair competition for the hosting positions. I don't even wanna think about abramowich possible involvement😓😓

Thanks for letting me get it off my chest - would be interesting to hear your thoughts- and since Denmark didn't qualify I'm rooting for hazard cortoius and naingo! Fora!
I cannot quite comprehend a world cup in Qatar/Russia. How are the fans going to behave in russia? Every fan contingent would have to travel with their nation's army to save themselves from these hooligans.

There is zero score of improvement in Russia. Their ministers are still calling out and supporting the extremists as we all heard after the England game fiasco. It is a disaster waiting to happen.

How are black players going to be treated in Russia? They can't shut their chants even in UCL and league games after being given thousands of warning, how does FIFA expect them to kick rasicm out in time for the world cup when tensions are just at their tilting point?

The whole bribery/corruption affair has been swept under the radar. I believe some more money was exchanged under the table to shut down the rumors of corruption.

If nations would break away from FIFA there would be a change. England especially has no reason to stick around as the biggest revenue generating league in the world it has no reason to follow in FIFA's dirty footsteps.
I totally agree, it's like being on the titanic and you see an iceberg 10 miles ahead and run into it instead of turning.

We have years to choose a new venue but aren't. USA, England, France, Grrmany, Spain, and maybe a South American country all probably have readily available venues.
Hazard god mode for Belgium tonight

EASILY the best individual performance of the Euros thus far. Magic, Eden, Eden-Eden, Eden-Eden, Eden HAZARD! Eden.
Belgien finally playing up to their potential - they could go all the way now, i mean Wales- Poland/Portugal and they're in the final.
HAZARD MASTERCLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The real Eden is back baby!!!
