Future bearer of the #9 jersey :P
Worried that we couldn't sign a proper DM-that might be a huge problem for us.
i think wenger just wanted cover, i dont think he wants to displace or replace arteta ramsey or wilshere from the team.
Is it just me or the shirt suits him rather well?
#Lad
don't worry guys, welbeck's injury is just a decoy so that he can be saved from real injury from internationals. smart move considering countless times we nursed a player from injury just to loose him on stupid friendlies. walcott/gibbs/jacky/even ox are many examples
voted (Giroud) on the poll on arsenal.com about who should start at CF when everyone is fit. Welbeck is in the lead. Seems the fans have more faith in him than i thought..or the hate for Giroud is REAL
Lol, I would vote Giroud as well, Welbeck 2nd choice though
I'm glad we even have these options which were non existent last season. Welbeck adds much needed power in attack and he's prolly better than OG and Sanogo when it comes to link up play :)
Damn the Heavens !!!

They're cursing us for signing a devil...we chose the dark side:p
yea well at least he's ok, should be well rested
Awwww Danny Welbeck with his very first inury/knock. I see he has assimilated quickly.

Im starting to think Joel Campbell is behind our strikers getting injured. Trying to get his chance by any means nessessary.

Diaby's new bum chum.. am so proud
you give injury prone striker. we give you injury prone striker
@BearWithFish: lol, fair enough :P
England and new Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck suffers ankle injury in training.

Welcome to Arsenal Danny.

He's fitting in nicely. :)
its a usual remedy, get injured even before you play your first game.
“At 20 or 21, players would sometimes stagnate. If they were not in the first team by then they could become disheartened. I reached that moment in my own playing career. At 21 I was fed up at St Johnstone and took papers out to emigrate to Canada. I was disillusioned. Football’s not for me, I was saying. I’m not getting anywhere. At the United reserve level, we encountered this dilemma all the time. We would send players out on loan in the hope they would come back better, but often sent them to a level that would suit them more in the long term anyway, so they could find careers. We were proud to have relocated the 72 players I talked about elsewhere in the game.
The ones who make it have a way of telling you they are certainties to reach the grade. Welbeck is an example. At one point I tipped him to make Fabio Capello’s 2010 World Cup squad, but he had issues to do with the pace he was growing at. At 19 he was still shooting up and encountering problems with his knees. I told him to go carefully in training sessions and save his best for matches. He was on course to end up 6 feet 2 inches or 6 feet 3 inches tall. But what a good player. Such a confident boy. I said to him: ‘One of these days I’m going to kill you,’ because he was such a cocky so-and-so, and he replied, ‘I’ll probably deserve it.’ Touché. He had an answer for everything.”

Excerpt From: Sir Alex Ferguson. “Alex Ferguson: My Autobiography.”

he has immense confidence in himself, you should see highlights of his performances vs bayern, real madrid in CL, chelsea everton and arsenal, imo he always plays with freedom and expression in these games due to his own self belief. expect to see a lot of cheeky chips and flicks in the box but also moments where you slap your forehead due to lack of composure
This is the Arsenal way..... :D

Arsene: Hello Danny, welcome to Arsenal, what positions do you play?

Welbeck: Ermm Striker and sometimes winger

Arsene: Great, we’ll put you as CM, have a nice day

Welbeck:…………………….

I have no idea what you're on about here.

Bould: well we have plenty of Englishmen..he completes the core

Venga: What about mental strength

Forsythe: well his already picked up an ankle injury right after signing..maybe we see how he re...

Wenger: sacre bleu His the one...
