Ozil got German player of the year award
Few more days left for April fools
+2
We used to have for England in midfield before:-

Gerrard
Scholes
Beckham
Lampard

England midfield now:-

Eric Dier
Livermore
Lallana
Dele Alli

Only consistency we have is hiring absolute donkeys as managers
well theyre doing okay against germany now
Okay = group stage exit from major tournament
Wonder how good the midfielders of golden generation of England were at Dele Alli's age...
Xgooner - you say that like those old guys won everything and now we downgraded.
+9
Well at least those players were coming from Champion clubs
Yeah but at the end it was the system that ruined the players. England just needed a competent manager to make those midfielders fit together. These players, talent wise like i said aren't on the same level as what we had before, but we still don't have a competent manager. It's just gonna be Hodgson all over again. That England team, the way they played, is the best your gonna see. Belgium, France, Spain, etc can do all of that but they have the tactical and technical skills over us. But we have pashuuuuuun

Doing well against a 3rd tier German team, who literally only played cos of Poldi, and they still won...

Suraj... I'd take Scholes at Allis age than Alli right now. Alli is in great goalscoring form, but he doesn't dictate the play like Scholes could do even at such a young age. My opinion of course
+3
All I'm saying is if you have hope in England in doing well in a major tournament, then it's as likely as Arsenal doing well in the UCL
England are a f*****g joke, funniest thing is an average guy like Sven Goran Erikson was their best manager in over 20 years lol
This is for a FA which has a bottomless pit of money, uncle woy was the highest paid manager in the world or something like that, what a complete disaster
Who would pay Woy anything is beyond me, but to make him the highest paid manager? Dunno what to say here

Even Gerrard, Rio, Scholes, Lampard, Rooney, and Becks could not do anything for the national side. Scholes even hung up his boots when he was 28 or 29, decided he would have a better career playing for club than under donkeys who sent him out as a winger. Turns out he was completely right in the end.
The current generation should rather retire and focus on scratching for their clubs
english managers are s**t. When Roy Hodgson is the best you got you know your f****d.
+1
Same story really. They do really well in friendlies and qualifiers, all the sudden theirs a glimpse of hope and maybe they will turn the corner in this tournament. Only to be compete let downs both tactically and mentally when it most matters.

If they hired a quality manager, they would go somewhere but thanks to the FA England will always be repeating this never ending cycle.
Perfectly sums the man up. Does nothing all game and then out of nowhere BOOM
What a goalllll
great goal
POLDDIIIIIIIIII
Is it only English commentators that hype up for friendly games or does everyone do it?
Podolski captain for germany
His about to earn his 130 cap for Germany, damn!
^and also his last, it's an emotional time for Poldi.

Such a great guy, the fans love him.
Im one of them, definitely not one of our top 10 players, but he's one of my top 10 players.
"I take back what I said 10 years ago, meaning titles, victories, are the best way to educate a group of players, to change mentalities."

Mourinho

Sounds like someone wants to stay at a club for long
+2
He wants Arsenal job ;D
Would you sell Bellerin to Barca if it meant £50+ mill?

I would actually be tempted to
Nope. We don't have many consistent performers but he is one. If you sell him then it will cost a fair amount of money and even more time to replace him and get him to settle in, unless you think Debuchy and Jenkinson are of the requisite calibre to represent the club?

Our squads have been dissected time and time again by other clubs looking to strengthen at our expense. If we sell him, even for £50m, then what are we? We are just a richer Southampton.

He is already among the top fullbacks in the league and he will only get better with age.
+1
Dint you guys sell only player who wanted to leave? I cant remember Arsenal selling anyone to make profits.

Everything rests on who the next manager will be and how he is able to convince all key players to stay. After disastrous season last year some of our players were not keen on renewing contract and now with Conte and our current league position it becomes very easy to sign extensions.
It's not that... I just really can't be bothered with transfer sagas and Barcelona officials tapping our players up again. Ruins the players mind, and the fans attitude to said player...

Then again arsenal fans are weird. They boo Sagna for some odd reason. Idiots
I miss Sagna :(

My favourite Arsenal player with Koscienly
@Xgooner, Lol again this s**t ? How many of your players or for that matter barca other transfers targets were tapped ? It was just Cesc and no one else.

BTW this time it's bellerin that seems to be issuing "come & get me" plea to barca. He went from something like "I won't answer the phone" to "It's nice there are a lot of big clubs that are interested in me, but if one of those is Barcelona that's special." [sport]

TBH lots of our fans including me don't want barca to buy him, mainly because he is still raw and overhyped, and secondly because he is just Alba 2.0. We won't have any balance if we were to play both bellerin and alba as our fullbacks.
+4
^ Liar..your fav. as always been Ozil :D
+1
I wouldnt sell because I have no trust in the people at this club to go out and buy anything better.

However my mentality is if you want to go go, but have no faith in this club
No way, you guys can't keep selling to them, in fact letting other clubs sign your best talent all the time will make Arsenal look like punks. Bellerin without a doubt is your best young talent and tbh their aren't many world class RBs in football today. I'd slap 70mil on him so one gets near him. He could be the next world class RB in football, letting him go would be a mistake.

Bazinga it depends

If Ozil stays on. He is life

If he leaves, it'll hurt like when Cesc left
No way it will hurt as much as when Cesc left mate. Cesc was our prodigy (even though we got him from barca), he was our captain, he had arsenal dna.
xgoon as sarcastic as ever, mate.
Leefo. Shhh mate, keep it quiet, i like it when people argue :)
We need a ruthless manager, not performing get benched. Not sure Wenger can do it, its not his style.. He only ruthless to the one who deserves to start (Perez) lol
+5
Wenger is a troll.
+5
Read an article on how the players want him to stay. Ofcourse they do. They dont want someone to come in and boss then around, get them up off their arses and play for the badge. It shows the lack of character embodied in all vessels of the club. Shameful.
+4
If Wenger left, loads of them will be sweating about their futures, heck I've heard Wenger gives Ozil some days off compared to the rest of his teammates because I guess his Ozil. That kind of treatment isn't helping the team or getting Ozil to work his a** off defensively.

No surprise why the players want him to stay. His the nice dad who will love you regardless if your screw up...unless your Perez and your actually pretty good. Arsenal has got a great fan base and history but the owners don't want him gone because well it's expensive to let him go and getting a new managers is even more expensive plus new signings. The players don't want him gone either because job security is far more important to them, getting the checks and mediocre performances is good enough as long as the manager and owner is alright with it.

Sad state of affairs for this club, what's worse is that he might resign.
+1
Board give him expectations, he meets them.

Board make mass load of money, they don't give a f**k

Replacing Wenger won't stop anything, until Silent Stan is gone this club will rot away making that prick millions.

He has only ever taken money from this club, never invested for the purpose of spending. We have 2 billionaire owners who are twice the value of Roman Abromovic, and look at the difference of who is passionate and who only wants profit. We are not a Football club. We are a business
+1
Ozil: "Wenger is a fantastic manager. I would never want him to leave."

Inside Ozil's head: "Huehueheu. I can stroll around a little more with Wenger. A Klopp would skin me alive"
+4
I can't find the source but I recall reading that, to balance books in the wake of the Emirates move, the target was to qualify for the CL 3 seasons out of every 5.

We've qualified every single season, thereby actually EXCEEDING board expectations. Xgooner is right, we are a business, nothing more.

The board will not fire him, he is a profit machine and Arsenal fans are the cash cow that keeps on giving. The board sets low targets and Wenger keeps meeting them with lower financial resources.

The fans have other targets than profit and dividends, however. If there was a fan-owned body on the board of directors setting the tone for what the manager should be achieving, instead of the corporate suits that we currently have, then Wenger would be under pressure to deliver.

As it is, the majority shareholder is a businessman who sees the £££ rolling in on a consistent basis, why would he make a change?
Well thats the thing, may be Wenger needs to step down, so the some changes in the club will start happening. By keeping Wenger Stan Kroenke wont leave.
Danipak, Kroenke will then offer Wenger a few extra millions so he could stay in turn making Kroenke even more profit.

Unfortunately for Wenger he's taking the bullets for his own fault (he is only human), the boards fault, and as well as the players fault. Let him go to PSG, and see how different it will be when he only focuses what happens with the team only. Arsenal has given him too many responsibilities, in turn giving him soo much power that if he leaves, we will need at least 3 people to replace him. Our incompetent board won't have those back ups. We will become an Everton
Xgoon I absolutely agree Kroenke is the problem, probably the main problem. but if Wenger stays there will be no changes at all.. May be we will need to become Everton, so we finally will change shiit in the board
