Hope you guys win tomorrow, if Wenger does leave this season, i wanna see him leave on a high with an FA cup under his belt.
Lol City already going at it, Bernardo Silva and Mendy for a combined £100+ million

City has a ridiculous midfield now, that you can even say that if Guardiola has another trophy less season, with the team he's buying, he really is a bauld fraud
+2
They need to spend more. One more CB, RB and GK
bernardo silva is a beast, i saw him do a skilled finish challenge vs aubemeyang, ox, rashford, and some others and he destroyed them
Dont worry we have henry onyekuru coming to the rescue. Watch him become the next mahrez and become the signing of the season.
these are the moments to cherish, when you're not quite sure if someone will be a flop or hit but you optimistically hope for success anyways.
Xgooner why are you even surprised..Im sure city , United and maybe Chelsea will close all deals before pre-season. As a Arsenal fan you may have to wait till deadline day to to confirm new signings :P
Naaaa we got Kolasanic sorted 😂😂😂

I mean bundeliga Toty left back on a free transfer, can't go wrong with that
Pep be like when the humble men get drunk after winning Europa, the poets check out the transfer market..
sigh all city needs is to sort out the defense and they are ok.
Lordjaggi, pep is a stubborn guy, as long as they ballers in defence I.e Stones City will always be vulnerable in defence

Lucky for him, The league standard is generally just s**t bar a couple of teams, so I expect them to dominate the league.

Europe on the other hand, well No Messi, No party. Their defence will be as wide as Arsenals vs Bayern. They basically the rich version of Arsenal back when we played nice attacking football lol
+1
Xgooner nailed it "They basically the rich version of Arsenal back when we played nice attacking football lol"
Pep prefers midfielders over strikers or defenders...He said if he could he would have 10 midfielders. Our defence will be fine as long as Kompany stays fit.

I see some of you bashing Stones, you have to keep in mind with Pep's philosophy of defending 50 yards away from goal any defender will have a hard time, because there is so much space behind you and you have to run.
Now we got 2 left footed Silva's :D
I think its for the first time 5 EPL teams in CL and we are not in it :D How f*****g ridiculous is that after being in it for 20 years straight..
+1
Its been long overdue tbh, I really think Arsenal would have progressed a lot further if Wenger wasn't in charge.... Everyone in football knows this.
+1
The previous two English champions weren't even good enough for the europa, let alone CL!
^Dint Leicester city make it to QF? Non other English team made it beyond round of 16
+1
I think we would have progressed further even with Wenger in if we could just avoid Barca and Bayern every single R16.

If we drew ANYONE else we might last until the quarters/semis and then get knocked out by Barca or Bayern then instead.

Getting knocked out in the semis sounds better than in R16 even if its to the same team.
Deff - You guys got Monaco year back? CL after group stage you have to be prepared to face anyone. If not round of 16 you will face them in QF or Semis

I think its fine to lose to Bayern and Barca since they are superior..but respectable defeat is better than losing badly in 1st leg each time and making 2nd leg irrelevant and impossible to come back year after year.
+1
We absolutely screwed the pooch vs Monaco. Had we faced Juve, Real Madrid, Athletico...we would not in a much better position to advance in the tournament either. We're just not at that level with the top European contenders. We scrape bare minimum to show up.
We kept getting Bayern or Barca because we couldn't win our group so in R16 we were drawn with stronger teams.
+1
You won your group this year and still drew Bayern.
+1
Watch how we still got Bayern in europa. Them dickheads will finish 3rd just to slap us again :(
+3
-We appealed Koscielny's red card and it was denied. What exactly was there to appeal about? lol
-Mustafi may be recovering from a concussion?
-Gabriel was stretchered off vs everton

If Mustafi isn't fit we've gotta go to a back 4 of:
Bellerin - Holding - Nacho - Gibbs
with Xhaka - Coq DMs.

Thoughts?
I was just going to post what is your expected lineup against us.
well we can see Merts
Oh wow, how did I forget that giraffe? Cant imagine his fitness level is going to be good vs a lethal attack like Chelsea have.
he was kinda decent vs Everton.. but chelsea is different kinda beast with motivation. Though Merts always surprised us.
+1
Yeah man, Chelsea are motivated to beat us. They're hungry and they're winners. They'll for sure want the double.
+2
Wenger should experiment with coquelin as CB in training. It could be a solution
Isn't he a abit short to be a CB ?
^ what barracuda said, just a little too short for my liking. On top of that, he's extremely reckless at times, wouldnt want him as a CB with those reckless, yet important at times, tackles. I like him in midfield for his interceptions.
Mascherano and puyol anyone?

stop this its ridiculous
+3
Way too sensitive of a subject to joke like that man

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11670/10889179/arsenal-in-talks-to-sign-henry-onyekuru-from-belgian-side-kas-eupen

here we go, our big signing from AW
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1h7jzf9KNO0

if wenger can land this guy, then you lots are moving in the right direction.... i can guarantee.
forget he is not famous, popular or not in the big leagues... this is going to be money well spent..

- you lots will have a fast, alert, skillful, ball control, awareness, hard working player... that is what your forwards (asides sanchez) is lacking...
It seems a good buy, I've read that he is a good finisher. Max. 7-9 M euros for Onyekuru would be a good deal imo, unproven outside of Belgium.

We do have Campbell waiting in line though. Campbell is more of a midfielder than a finisher but right now they would compete for a spot on the wings.
You complain that we can't find gems like Kante or Mahrez, but when we go for them, you still complain

Probably ridiculed Holding cos he was from a relegated Bolton side yet he's been our most consistent defender in the games he's played this season
+2
That's quite the highlight show for such a youngster! His pace and dribbling are very good.
If Wenger does leave its trully a shiity way to leave, without a proper goodbye.. To leave on such a salty note for legendary status that he has with the club is insane.. Dont think he leaves though

P.s. may be he want to leave on a high after picking up another FA Cup
+4
im sure when he leaves, arsenal will prepare a proper farewell.
Yeah I doubt his leaving.
+2
Hes staying so he doesnt care
it's been clear for months he's not going anywhere. in fact he's already likely been offered an extension.
SIF he was offered an extension at Winter time. The problem was he didnt confirm if he accepted or not
Last time Arsenal finished outside the top 4 - 1996

- Bruce Rioch managed Arsenal
- Arsene Wenger was managing Nagoya Gampus Eight
- Alex Iwobi was born
- Thierry Henry was playing for Monaco
- Bill Clinton was president
- 'No Diggity' by Blackstreet was released
- Independence Day was released

Helluva time! haha

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11670/10888087/hostile-atmosphere-at-the-emirates-stadium-didnt-help-arsenal-says-arsene-wenger

blaming the fans -.- not himself.
+5
He does say that the uncertainty about his own future has also played a part in it. But it's not a great move from him, he should have sticked to political-speak and not saay anything significant about it.
It's undeniable though, that playing under those circumstances, with virtually no support, must've been pretty sh*ty for everyone at the club including the players.
+1
As someone who has been to the Emirates many times, I can vouch for that shitty atmosphere.

It has been utterly toxic at times, it has felt empty despite filling almost all of the 60k seats.

The problem is that it will only ever get worse while he is here. Even if Arsenal win the FA cup next weekend I can guarantee that half the stadium will boo the moment we lose a game, even if it is only by one goal.

There is no ammo to strengthen the team now. Big names will go after a CL team or big money (like Ibra and Pogba last year) or a top manager, proven in recent years (Allegri, Simeone).
We have none of these qualities right now, meaning we will have to rely on current squad and youngsters. At the same time top 4 and ManU will be definitely enforced.
That said, and I hope to be wrong, 6th place is probably a realistic target next season.
+2
If you would have listened closely you would've heard Wenger said it was a bunch of things, Including His Situation that hindered the players as well. It's not like he's blaming the season on the fans...come on.
+6
Ppl hear only what they want to hear
+4
Don't know what some fans are whining about i thought they hated the top 4,for years they kept complaining that the top 4 was not that important, now that we missed it they are even madder lol.

Arsenal fans need to stick come low or high and stop falling for the negativity of social media, can't they see how happy rival fans are happy we didn't make the top 4, they first mocked us for achieving it for so many years, now they are jubilant we didn't make it.

Lesson to Arsenal fans
stand by your club
+1
stand by for the same bs every year? If things don't change its gonna be europa league goals next season.
+3
I don't mind being in the Europa league, I think its more our level at the moment. We always go out at R16 in the champions league and we are evidently not at the same level as RM, Barca/Bayern/Juve etc.

Recent EL winners include teams like Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla and from what I've seen of the EL teams this year, Arsenal have a good shot of beating those teams.

Plus it would be quite satisfying if we were to win it at the first attempt where Spurs have failed so frequently.

Also, on a side note, failing to make the top4 might just force Kroenke's hand to invest a bit more in the squad (or feck off altogether and let Usmanov have a crack at running the club).
+2
IT's a tough pill to swallow because we consider ourselves a top club. Unfortunately, we don't play like a top club. Europa is exactly what we need. We need change, even if it's in the competition. I'm welcoming this. As much as it sucks to not be playing in the biggest stage, now we realistically have a competition to win.
Europa is winnable yes. But i think it would be best if we just use it to rest key players and really have a go at the league. Winning the league is the only thing that can spur afc on to eventually winning a UCL. We need to aim for 30+ league wins and finally break that monkey. Just worried that going too deep in europa can lead to us struggling to get back to the elite competition like liverpool
I think we have enough quality in the depth of the squad to compete across the board. Like every season, it all comes down to the amount of injuries.
