AW on Santi:

"The first signs are positive, but still he has not played for one-and-a-half years. It won't be before Christmas. He is not in full training yet, he needs a few games with the reserve team. So I think if all goes well, it will be after Christmas."

Thoughts on the game:

We were certainly on the right side of the referee yesterday. I thought he did well to ref and keep the physicality alive without stopping the flow of the game. But we were extremely lucky not to get whistled for the penalty against Jrod 1st half and also to get the call in our favor for Ramsey's penalty in the 2nd. There were shirt pulls and grabs here and there that could've been called, but at the end of the day is WBA and what else would we expect?

I was nervous about West brom after last seasons game away, but this squad carried over the hard work seen from the Chelsea draw last week. We played like crap 1st half, which almost makes it even better to come away with a comfortable win. Monreal was an absolute BEAST! I've never seen an Arsenal defender put in that great of a 90 performance since I've been following them. Kolasinac again was almost perfect - #1 transfer steal in the prem league this summer. Bellerin also is hitting form again. Great 1-2's played in the attacking half and did well defensively. Koscielny surprisingly stood out as playing a bit sloppy, but still was able to hold things together with Mustafi who I feel is the best CB in the middle 3.

Congested schedule ahead of us, but we have a deep squad still with quality. We should be able to leave guys in London for the Europa league trip and give em some good rest for Brighton on Sunday. Sadly, I heard Wenger say Santi (may) be available after the new year. Pretty sure we heard that this time last year! >:(
We were lucky yesterday, unlucky at Stoke. So all in balance.

I wanted to see Jack coming in for Xhaka (who is mistake prone any minute).

The runs that Nacho and Sead made on the left were fantastic.
Actually Sanchez impeded a bit cause they were kinda forced to pass it to him instead of running straight to the box.

Otherwise, over complicated at times, one pass too many, but overall improving performance from game to game.

October schedule : Brighton, Watford, Everton, Swansea - 12 points is a must and doable.
We definitely got lucky with the Rodriguez penalty but the Ramsey one was legit.

Otherwise I thought Madley did an ok job keeping the game going. We knew Pulis would send his orcs out to maim and our boys actually seemed up for the physical contest for a change.

Second half we dominated and now we've got a decent run of games coming up where we should be able to string some wins together and close the gap on those ahead.
Great to see Lacazette already making history at the club..now let's see our cup team smash BATE
7 youngsters in the squad. Will see who makes it to starting XI:

Nelson
AMN
Willock
Macey
DaSilva
Nketiah
Akpom

Honestly i would take a team of Monreals and Azpis

Need to buy more versatile spanish defenders

Ramsey playing well in Ozil's position. But Elneny has been a disaster till 60 min.
Ozil plays that position better ;D

I prefer Ramsey with Xhaka in the middle, just the way they played against Chelsea. Also would like to see Xhaka Wilshere duo, I think they will pair well
On current form, Ramsey must start, be it at CM or RW. A fully fit Ozil surely must start also.

That leaves only Xhaka's spot up for grabs. I think in a few months, if Xhaka slips up, Wilshere will stake his claim to this engine room.
+1
Yeah because Ramsey tracked back to defensive position whenever Westbrom where on the counter, something Ozil would often neglect to do.

+2
how was Elneny disaster till 60 min? He was the engine of our passing. Xhaka was totally non-existent, not enough movement, sideways/backwards passing only.
+5
@Philosophy and Ramsey didnt create much, where Ozil is a creator.. for me Ramsey's best position is in CM.. that game was crying for Ozil in the first half
@Leefo As a CM, I could count at least 3 times Elneny lost the ball, leaving the team open to a dangerous counter attacks.

In some other cases in 1st half, we lost possession in midfield while he was just a few yards in front and he didn't even bother to track back, leaving Xhaka alone and Ramsey even had to run back to defensive line from higher up. He also took too long to pass and many time lost the ball to his opponent.

No aggression, no determination, no feeling of position, that's not what I expected from our CM. Things only changed when he somehow played lower and pay more attention from 60 min.
@DaniPak I like Ramsey in that position as he is more active and willing to track back to retain possesion. I am quite skeptical of whether Ozil would have created better chances for us in that match. Well we never know.

More important, when both Ramsey and Ozil are playing, I feel like they tend to step on each other. Last match against Chelsea is great, without Ozil. I myslef hope to see Wilshere and Xhaka as CMs, while Ramsey playing CAM/RW.

Need more service to Lacazette, Only Monreal has been good in defence. El Neny and Xhaka have been useless. Put the Wheelchair on
elneny is ok. xhaka and ramsey not up to the mark today.
El neny is just such a simple player that against the lower sides i dont think hes needed,

Great player vs top teams tho because he has loads of energy and runs round the whole pitch constantly
Passing has been really sloppy across the board.

Monreal our motm so far.
We are Monreal Fc
+2
West Brom should be ahead, we have not been at all convincing.

Thankfully Monreal saved our bacon.
lacazette hatrick please.
Would love that!

Wanna see Pulis' face like it was after a foul wasn't given on Laca.
Starting lineup for WBA:

Cech
Koscielny Mustafi Monreal
Bellerin Xhaka Elneny Kolasinac
Ramsey Alexis
Lacazette

Subs: Ospina, Mertasacker, Maitland-Niles, Wilshere, Özil, Walcott, Giroud

Come on You Gunners!!!
