I can see AW bringing in someone like Anwar El Ghazi. Fans want a BIG name, he wants to create another RVP.
wtf, create another rvp? so like he says he's a faithful gunner and then on the last year of this contract says f**k it im leaving.
I've been eager to make known my analysis for quite a while so here goes:

Arsene had countless opportunities to buy early and integrate. You're basically getting a bang for your buck by getting player early for him to get used to the team. He dithered and now there's absolutely zero availability for a striker. Giroud still can do a job so we'll need to make sure he's fit as well as making sure others around him are firing.

You see, this is the reasoning behind our misfiring. Our midfielders are actually left to pick up the scraps. They're our second striker, not Giroud. Giroud is actually a decoy to connect to our ongoing midfielders. But ATM our midfielders aren't connecting because really and truly they aren't strikers, they're more creative in the middle but less so in the finally third. So, we're left with an instinct to pass and not shoot. Our second striker is Ramsey, who is our most clinical second striker there is with his late runs into the box.

Ox on the wings keep drifting in and out of the side and more direct with his pace and trickery. Problem is that Ox is so fast and Giroud is so slow he can't catch up to his runs to go into the box to connect with headers. Santi also lost his scoring mojo - emphasizing more passing over the years can do that to you.

Look at why Arsene came out during preseason saying he's trying to hand midfielders more scoring options. Look at all our midfielders saying the same. Now 2 days ago look at why Ozil came out to say exactly that he needs to be more stingy in passing and score more goals.

Trust me, Theo was false hope. He's a speedster with intelligence and can be used as a decoy for counters but a goal machine he is not. He has absolutely zero ability to create his own space and very bad at holdup play despite adding a few pounds to cope with the league. Look at Aguaro and how he can actually holdup play and dribble his way into goal scoring positions. Add to that his awareness to get opened and his shot to goal ratio. Unfair to compare yes but that is exactly what we need. Sanchez is the closest to an Aguaro type that we have but regardless he is still rusty and he's probably tried in that position once or twice last season. We still don't know whether Sanchez can in fact find space without the ball though we know he is our most clinical winger.

The question is what do we do?

We'll have to rethink how we attack. Be more aggressive and not dither on the ball like Arsene does in the transfer window. His philosophy is hold ball and wait and wait till your pass outsmart your opponent where there's an opening by mistake then you attack with the ball. This is where your opponents break down. It works most of the times. The problem is, it opens us up for counters and teams just all now sit back. We fail not because we don't open them up enough. We fail because we're not direct enough and we're not CLINICAL enough.

Regardless, Arsenal teams inherently do take a while to hit the ground running. The damming statement is this guys, we're more built for tournaments not long distance running. Fluidity is key for us and there's no way we can be fluid enough an entire season. This is why it's very important to have more than one team, and I'm not talking about regular bench warmers.

That's why we're currently having problems. The team is about team and less individual performance. However, sometimes you need and individual to take the bull by its horn. We saw a glimpse of that with Ox even though he played badly yesterday. He was the one that said I'm going to dribble and cut in and shoot since no one else does. Bayern has that, Barca has that, RM has that, Chelsea has that, City has that, United now has that. Look at all those teams, they all play differently but have one thing in common - someone super good to direct if all else fail.
Rooney's super good?????
this is exactly the same team that went on a huge hot run at the end of last season but with the addition of Petr Cech. We haven't lost anyone meaningful/critical to the first XI so I am honestly expecting this team to get back to that standard pretty soon.

What bothers me right now is the lack of urgency in our attack. We seem content to stroke the ball around the middle of the park and wait for an opportunity to score a pretty goal but everything is too slow in the build up.

If we could play at 1.5x the current speed we would create so many more opportunities. At this current speed teams have enough time to get organised and maintain shape while we're still masturbating in the middle of the park. It's time to stop the heavy petting and get to the quick thrusting.

Less dicking around with the ball and more dicking our opponents with the ball, please.
Oh yes, im excited. hope we get him this summer !!! Riyad Mahrez !!! :D

should be a couple suspensions for stoke next league game..hopefully we smash them n build our confidence back up to full effect..
Does anyone else think West Ham will beat Chelsea, Utd, City and Spurs too this year? Ok, to a lesser extent, Spurs. They seem to do well against possession based teams after all.
Depends which WHU turns up and how the other title challengers approach the game. Arsenal and Liverpool demonstrated perfectly what happens if you're not focussed against WHU.

That said, WHU also showed lack of focus and organisation in their other games already. If they don't shoe up on the day a team like City will destroy them.
I think we can get a signing like ozil/alexis from real or Bayern (if not this window, may be next). Bayern played with no CBs and still has gotze on bench.
Let's take Kroos from Madrid. with a passer like him, we can finally utilise the wings.
I can't see any of our department need signings, except for ST and DM. Gotze isn't relevant
+1
any player that can improve the first team is welcome. I'm thinking along isco/gotze, we can use another creative AM/winger to fill for rosicky and joel campbell next year.
crazy how City haven't even conceded a goal. lol
Yeah they are on super run, but the international break might hunt that momentum, when you are in such a run, you want to keep going, after they get back from the break, i think it would be a little hard for them to pick up where they started.
^and on the other hand a break might help us catch some momentum
Fabregas is getting smashed by chelsea fans for his performances when in my opinion jose is playing him incorrectly, gotta love plastic fans who don't appreciate what a player they have.

i think we have enough problems of our own fan bashing our own players....Both giroud and theo is getting a lot of stick...and frankly i believe its AW fault because he shld be playing theo on the RW and shld bring in a striker to compete with OG.....

idc about Cesc anymore. lol

I think arsenal are one more good striker away from bieng title winners.
No available strikers that will improve our current squad.

Madness of deadline day anything can happen.. but at the moment no one is coming in.
this narrative around OG and Theo is ridiculous. Last week people were bashing Giroud and Wenger saying Theo looks fresh he should be played instead. This week Theo was up front, people forgot the last week's narrative and say Theo isn't a striker and should be played on the wing. Next week Theo will have a bad game on the wing and people will say we should have sold him to Liverpool and play Ramsey there instead because he provides better cover. It's an endless cycle of inconsistent criticism. The only consistent bit is people picking on Giroud. Whenever he has a good game, people either ignore it or pause their criticism for a few days.

I never once thought of OG as a bad player. I was only against signing Benzema because he is too similar to OG. As for using OG and Walcott together, its entirely possible by going 4-4-2 or 3-5-2. I think both strikers need another man up front for assistance. Maybe then no one will complain.
^With 2 strikers up front you're talking about dropping Ozil/Ramsey. Haha good luck with that. Ain't gonna happen. We have too many in midfield to overshadow every other position and formation there is.

Haha, I also remembered every idiot last week saying to play Theo up front instead of Giroud. At least Giroud gives you better options and holds the ball and defends better and links up play better and can score headers and defends set pieces. In fact, even Theo's pace (his only pro) isn't being utilized. Put him out on the wing like the Ox and let him square balls to Giroud for headers. Freeking clear as daylight.

benzema is subbed early, hope he get annoyed and leave RM like ozil did ... LOL, one can dream

Well, Delph pledged his allegiance before turning Judas. We can still dream
Benz isnt going anywhere
Yep, Benzema isn't going anywhere. There are no strikers available, as well as DM. Let's see what Wenger does before Tuesday.
Any high profile forward would be extremely over priced now. Cant see it happening.

I'd still love us to get Luiz Gustavo. He's got everything we're looking for in the middle of the park.

EDIT: I remember there was a rumor about us wanting Krychowiak. Now THAT would be a good signing!
And who's fault is it that there's no quality DM anymore? You damn sure know who's. Wenger watched as other top sides snapped up the DMs, that's why he gets s**t from pundits and fans alike time and time again.

Such a pisstaking tendency this man has, when there's 'quality' on the market that would significantly improve our team go for it, not stall on or or look for the cheaper option.

In this current era of football you won't get nowhere with this nonsense, spending is a necessity at times especially in our case. Even a club like Utd have seen that they need to spend in order to compete and they have and still doing so, City needed reinforcements and they have addressed that this year with the signing of Sterling, Otamendi and the upcoming arrival of De Brunye. Chelsea are clearly in the market looking for players that could improve their team and they will spend, why? Because it's necessary.

We've got Coquelin who is as mentioned by our manager one of the best DMs in Europe, but what happens when he gets injured, do you put am ageing Arteta there? No, do you put Lord Flamini there? Fucc no. Jack Wheelchair? He'd get injured from a few tackles so no. These are literally our options, options for a supposed title contending team.

And the striker, not many on the market but surely the great Wenger that can conjure something up.

Happy with three points today, not so much with performance. Need to address our obvious problems, or its gonna be another long ass season of misery.

Krychowiak is staying with Sevilla
Benz is conning from an injury..so there is no need to play him 90 mins. And we were 3 goals up front at tht time..

But I think you guys need a striker apart giroud.Theo ain't a striker..

^ give us jese on loan ?
