We're facing Nottingham Forest in the 3rd round of EPL Cup, which I'm assuming the League Cup right? Lol
Anyone got Android 7.0 N ???

Just got it today (final version till release), and it seems sick with the extra features
Apparently we want Lucas Perez from Deportivo for €20mill (release clause)

Better than nothing I guess lol
Our sort of signing to be honest
Yeahh, I'd have him over spending £60mill on Lacazette

Haven't even seen the guy play. I'm that desperate right now 😂😂😂
Telegraph say Musacchio & Manolas are on a three man shortlist of defenders #Arsenal are interested in. The other is thought to be Mustafi.

Our scouts don't know any other letter of the alphabet

I still think we gonna sing Mustafi, if we signing a CB.
Signings worth £20 M+ since 2004
#ManCity 22 #Chelsea 18 #ManU 15 #LFC 14 #Arsenal 3
+1
Yet we always finished top 4. Talk about consistency lol
+1
Lol the flip side is..those teams have been successful during those periods while we only had top 4 to celebrate and 2 fa cups! So what's your point dude?

I'd rather just win champions league once and not care whether we qualify again. I just wanna experience the feeling of supporting the best team Europe. It is painful to watch us limp to 4th place, only to get knocked out in embarrassing fashion.

Those defeats have shown us time and time again that there is a difference between a team of players averaging 20 million plus and our cheaply assembled squad.
+1
Other than the Champions League by Liverpool (best ever non Arsenal moment for me btw) their fans have been utterly pissed

So really it's just MU, MC and Chelsea.... Understands since all 3 together have probably spent £2bn in that timeframe
My point is we are underwhelming. What I wrote above is just another perspective to look at things to make ourselves feel better lol.
You'd rather have Liverpool's record since 04 than ours? Come on be real. Further it is without doubt that for 10 of those years we couldn't afford 20M players. Our squad is hardly "cheaply assembled" as you claim.

Further, what is the point if a player costs 20M? Elneny looks like a real player and cost way less than 20M (now if only Wenger would play him over Coq). Kos wasn't even half 20M and is now the best CB in the league. Cech cost less than 20M as well, and no one doubts he is a great signing. Carrol, Torres (to Chelsea), Di Maria, Benteke all cost way over 20M and were complete duds. Sterling and Mata have also not proved worthy of their price tags. A player's talent cannot be adequately valued in the current transfer market.

I think we need more talent certainly and Wenger is stuck in the past of pinching pennies but don't just beg for expensive transfers, Wenger is at least right about that, if Holding had cost 20M, everyone would be happy and if Asano was 20M he'd have a permit. Price is hardly everything.
As it was pointed out below that chambers could go out on loan. Well its been made official now chambers is been placed on Loan list by club.

we are short in defensive and yet we are loaning out Chambers. This could mean one thing that we are "very close" or have already signed a Center back. Who that would be is anyone`s guess.

Fantastic article by Guardian
https://www.theguardian.com/football/the-set-pieces-blog/2016/aug/24/transfer-window-market-myths

Explains the utter b******s that MU fans came out with Ibra shirt deals
Also explains how transfer fees are actually worked out and why no club actually has a war chest... Recommended to read
+3
Shirt and sponsorship deals helping to pay big transfer deal is always a theory created by fans to convince themselves.....every top club has sponsors and every top club makes money out of it to help run the club
https://www.css-investments.com/stock-analysis/arsenal-report/

So Arsenal being able to spend £100+mill is complete utter b******s (which we all knew anyways)
+1
The article seems bs. 4m? wtf. I think we have as much money as we want 100 or 220 million. we can afford pogba + striker + whatever. It will be dumb to spend all 220 million, just as it is to not sign a striker/cb. We have been waiting 4 years for a striker.
Cannon, in those 4 years we have spent on Alexis, Ozil, Xhaka, Gabriel, Chambers, Debuchy, Monreal, and Cech...

Literally every position but the ST position. It's understandable since every other striker whos an upgrade to Giroud is £50+ mill, unless you look short term.
Sky reports that if Arsenal does sign a CB, either Chambers/Holding will be loaned out, Chambers most likely.

Chelsea bid in the region of 35m pound plus add-on for AC Milan defender Romagnoli., likely to be rejected; Roma might play hardball and milk Chelsea. 40-50m pound?

Matuidi to Juventus seems very close, fee in the region of 30m pound.

PSG keeper Sirigu to Sevilla on a season long loan.

Rumors are Man City are allowing Mangala on a loan to Napoli, which could make way for Koulibaly?

Bayer Leverkusen have signed Aleksander Dragovic, fee in the region of 12m pound or so.

Spur's rightback Deandre Yedlin to Newcastle, permanent deal, but fee said to be less than 10m pound.

Watford signed Newcastle rightback Daryl Jamaat for 7.5m pound.

West Ham are interested in Bony, as well as Juventus's striker ZAZA, nothing else atm; though West Ham are said to agreed a fee for Edmilison Fernandes from FC Sion (Swiss League) he's a attacking midfielder, age 20 year old and said to be pretty talented.

Wolfsburg & former Bayern's defender Dante(32) to OGC Nice, fee in the region of 2m euro. *BARGAIN ALERT

Claudio Bravo (Barcelona keeper) to Man City basically done deal, Bravo has been seen in Manchester City as well.

Everton is said to be one of Joe Hart's new destination, most likely to be on a loan deal.

We should loan Chambers to Valencia as part of the Mustafi deal. They get a young, fit CB who I think will do very well in La Liga.

We get an experienced CB in immediately and Chambers gets the benefit of playing in a foreign league and expanding his horizons.

no news on Jonny evans? medical? lol
^no news on Evans, hopefully it stays that way. lmao

Do you guys think its all on Wenger for the transfers or do other board members like Gazidis have to do more. I heard that Arsenal had a stronger transfer edge when David Dein was with you guys, but, I'm not sure if that is true.

Would be interesting to see the perspective from your part as Liverpool moved on from Ian Ayre and I am wondering how much it might affect our transfers.
+2
David Dein is missed.. He was a real back bone for Wenger.
+3
Imo Wenger and the Board are very much aligned in how they look at transfer policy now.
Moreso, it appears from Wenger's quotes that he focuses more on
protecting the club's kitty rather than winning games. Sigh...

+2
Either the huge budget is a load of rubbish or its Wenger which I blame for dithering with price tags and approaching loads of teams wasting their time with undervaluing players with they weak bids.

We would be world class if we had the players "we could" have signed
+2
The issue is two fold.

1) David Dein is sorely missed.
2) When David Dein left we essentially had to be furgal to pay debt

If you think about it the people in charge of transfers (not just the manager) hasn't had a change in personell or attitude...

Which is what I'm most worried about: the issues in AFC probably run deeper than AW. I'm not absolving AW from all the blame. He isn't just a passenger in this whole situation.
nobody really knows, we all just speculate.

Certainly when Dein was here, we seemingly had less problem paying higher transfer fees (for the era).

It seems that under Kroenke and Gazidis the club is more interested in profits and shares than footballing success. Wenger either can't or won't upset the status quo and demand more transfer funds. Nobody really knows which, but as the public face of AFC, he gets the majority of the abuse regardless.

Time will tell, Arsene won't be at the helm forever and I like to think that, when he leaves the club, some light will eventually be shed on this whole situation and the fans will know why we are completely inept and inert when it comes to transfers.
+4
So I understand the different viewpoints on here......maybe this video may bring to light some things that either some of us were not fully sure about, and also why certain things have been the way they have.

All that being said, I still blame Wenger.
