So the confederations Cup begins. the national championship takes a break... My Santos is going through some changes now.. No more Neymar, no more Muricy(coach) and some other players are also gone... Mew faces are coming in and try to fill the gap. WE might land Bielsa as a head coach wich I think would be interesting to see the results... hopefully Santos can bring up some young talent from its youth system and reign the league again. Good luck Santos, you're gonna need it.
So many neymar haters these days its unbelievable
yes, people just hate because it's easier than to actually take the time to watch a few videos and make a well educated judgement... I "hate" them. haha.
Way to go Santos, starting the year on the right foot with a win over Sao Bernardo! Let's do this!!
Nice win over Cruzeiro, Hat-trick by Neymar... good to see a performance like that towards the end of the season.
I didn't understand Neymar's motive for staying away from Europe. Did Santos give him a better deal than Europe? or it's just Loyalty?

I assume he could get better offers if he does well in WC 2014

there was a few reasons, Santos made a good enough offer for him to stay, on top of paying a salary, Santos also agreed to find him endorsement deals, of which he has about 13 right now... not too shabby. another reason is family and friends. Many players leave Brazil in search of stardom, specifically to make a lot of money, but many of those players return to Brazil after a season or two because they became depressed from being away from family, friends, not getting used to different climates, etc... in the end I believe Neymar made a very good choice, not because I'm a Santos Fan. but because I live in a different country and I can kind of relate on a much lower level to what these players felt.

...but soon or later, it's not only inevitable, but also required that Neymar leaves Brazil.

I live away from my homeland too and complete agree with Thenylo. It's always hard being alone and away. I'm sure if Neymar were ever to read his comment he would "like" it jaja :) Even so, too many players do not even find success because of premature departure. I think Neymar has done a good thing in staying away from Europe for now, but when he's ready, you can be sure that he'll try to conquer many lands. Saludos hermano!

Santos is not doing very well right now, with Neymar and Ganso away with the Olympic team, things are not looking good!!
not doing well at all
Thenylo please explain the Ganso situation?
Ganso a money-hungry-blood-sucking-effortless bastard type player... Basically, this bullshit has been going on since 2010. neymar has renewed his contract twice since then, just to give you and idea...

Just for comparison purposes, Santos pays neymar a salary but the bulk of neymar's paycheck comes from endorsements which was acquired through Santos' public relations firm, which is part of the contract, his salary is roughly $250.000 reais(brazilian currency) per month. However he gets paid approximately $2 million per month, in reais, due to his 11 personal sponsor deals that santos helped him get.

So Santos has been trying to get Ganso a similar deal for ages, the problem with Ganso is that he is very ill advised by his own people(his PR people). ganso has a bad habit of making it very public his discontent with Santos' managers by not giving full effort on the pitch, complaining about the amount Santos offered him on interviews, etc.

So last week, Santos' president gave an interview and said "enough". He santos santos will no longer make him any other offer, because of his habit of talking too much to the media...

There are many rumors, all denied by both parties, as to where his next destination will be.. The front runners right now is Internacional from Porto Alegre (same team as Oscar, Leandro Damião, D'Alessandro, to name a few)... i dont know if there will be a trade or a sale, will see.

Right now Santos owns 45% of Ganso's pass, the other 55% are owned by a firm called "DIS" a subsidiary of Sonda group. sonda will try to by the 45% from santos to either resale it to Inter or another the in Europe.

everybody, every fan wants ganso out!!!!!
Right now ganso get paid $130.000 per month but his people are responsible for getting him endorsement deals. Which of course has not been happening very often.
cheers...its strange how players always want more money over loyalty to a club that has done so much for them.
Hey can someone just explain to me how all the leagues work in Brazil because I'd quite like to follow it however don't know whats what!
from January through April, they play state-wide championship (ther are a lot of professional teams in Brazil) The national championship(Campeonato Brasileiro, Brasileirao) is played from May through December... other tournaments are played in between like the Copa Libertadores (the South American version of the champions League) which is about to end tomorrow(7/4/2012) with the second leg of the Final game between Corinthians(BRA) X Boca Juniors(ARG).
