Rest in peace, Jean-Luc. You'll be missed.
Just heard the news. Even though he was quite old this was very suprising news, he was still a very active man.

It's a shame we'll never see him and Célie cheer again in the stands after an important Club victory.

RIP Jean-Luc.
I just wanna say:

PREUD'HOMME BITCHES!

This team is bound to win the title; we have everything we lacked before now! A leader and brilliant coach in Michel, leaders on the pitch in Simons and Gudjohnson and the right players in the best shape they've been in all season. We're even missing Vadis and Meunier but we're still kicking ass!
Team spirit is very high but after the past 10 years I don't feel as confident as you. Always have this feeling we're going to give it away some way or another.

That being said Preud'homme has done wonders and I'm enjoying every moment of watching Brugge again.
It would feel very weird if Club is in the CL next season and United isn't.
Man, I hope Standard will drop a lot of points soon or even the play-offs (in which they're notoriously strong) will become a race for the second spot. This year is ours, and if anyone can guide us to victory over Standard, it's Michelleken Preud'homme :)
The team seems a lot more solid the past few games, but so does Standard tbh. We'll just have to win home and away against them in the play offs and the title will be ours, easy :).
And shortly after we posted this, Standard lose 2-3 and we win 5-2 (6-2 really)! Awesome-o!

Could this be real? :D
I think with De Sutter out until at least February, we'll need our strikers to step up big time though. Perhaps we should think of getting a new striker, though I'd rather wait and see what our current forwards can do.
Yeah I wrote this before his injury happened. Couldn't have picked a worse time, I felt he was just getting in form.

We still have Gudjohnsen and Tchité too, although they have minor injuries atm. Our young guns will have to step up. But I don't mind a few lost points if our youngsters get chances. There's one of the only advantages of halving the points for the play-offs.
Hmm, interesting train of thoughts. I wonder if you're right that it might be a weird blessing in disguise. Still; I really like De Sutter, and as you said he was picking up good form. This is a big blow for sure. He might've even been called up for the World Cup if he kept performing well. Belgium's Fernando Llorente.
...

s**t man. What the hell is going on. Three losses in a row despite being 'title candidates'?
The f**k is up with Club? This s**t keeps happening way too often. Whenever we face an in-form top team in Belgium we're screwed.
My respect for Garrido increased even more after reading his farewell letter.

http://www.juancarlosgarrido.com/?p=5224&lang=en

I wish you all the best Juan Carlos and hope you do well wherever you go next.
Yeah, I wrote a respectful goodbye on there. I hope he'll find a great new club that is suited for him. Perhaps we'll meet him again as friendly rivals some day.
"Ola señor Garrido,

I am a fan of Club Brugge and when the news came out we had signed you I was thrilled. Your work at Villarreal is also underappreciated and this was underlined by the failure of the next managers after you. Your work at Club Brugge was not complete, but that does not make it useless at all. We have stabilized the team, the core of players is finally a balanced one and we look like true title candidates now, largely thanks to your professional and ethical work.

From the bottom of my heart I would like to thank you for what you did, I think no true Brugge fan will disagree with me when I say you brought something we lacked before: harmony and some tranquility that was badly needed at times. Unfortunately the man who’s been the most successful coach in Belgium in the past decade was ready to join Club Brugge on a free transfer, and I am sure that if he was not, we would still be applauding you and your team instead.

May you find a great new club soon and perhaps we’ll meet again on good terms, but as rivals, in the near future. All the best, We Are Bruges!!"

Awesome! I'm going to write something too now! ;)

Phillipe Clement is magic! 4-0 :)
Preud'homme it is. Pfff another change of manager. It's all about short-term success nowadays. Our board seems to have no intention of actually bringing any kind of stability to this club. It's actually been frustrating to see our board being so clueless over the last 8 years. 5 coaches in 2 years now.

Now Preud'homme is a very good coach so I hope we finally give him the time to actually build something that can last for years to come.
I'm a bit disappointed as well, because I liked Garrido. But I'm not sure how important improvement in football quality on the pitch was, and little of that was noticeable this season. That 4-0 is thanks to a lot of Garrido's work though, but of course it's also because the players were hell-bent on performing well for PC, who they seriously let down last year (6-1, remember...). And Preud'homme's arrival no doubt sparked them further.

Preud'homme is the best coach Belgium have though; there is no one I'd rather see at the helm of Club to be honest. His passion, his ability to improve players and make them want to win as much as he does is ideal for our club.
Almost banned that 6-1 from my memory, thanks for bringing it back :p They did redeem themselves with this 4-0.

I'm just frustrated with the board's talk about "projects" and then they go on to sack the manager within a few months.

Agreed that Preud'homme is the best option, great coach who has been succesful at every club he's been. Tactically very good and an amazing motivator.
What I don't get is how journalists are allowed to say things that the title is a must now and on the other hand they critcise our board for being too impatient.

I get so frustrated with the level of amateurism of belgian journalists. I can't even begin to count how much I facepalmed myself while (occasionally) watching Stadion or even Extra Time.

Sorry for going off topic :p
Yeah, I totally agree that the football 'pundits' in Belgium are ridiculous. I usually like Filip Joos and Van den Bempt though. And I love reading the columns in Humo from Jan Mulder though I rarely find myself agreeing with them :)
