From January through April, they play state-wide championship (ther are a lot of professional teams in Brazil) The national championship(Campeonato Brasileiro, Brasileirao) is played from May through December.... Other tournaments are played in between like the Copa Libertadores (the South American version of the champions League) which is about to end tomorrow(7/4/2012) with the second leg of the Final game between Corinthians(BRA) X Boca Juniors(ARG).
