Ok - here is theory - Pep was roped last season only and he left Barca saying a year sabbatical so tht not to anger Barca supporters. But guess what unknown temp. Manager at Chelsea won C'league and FA Cup. Unwillingly he had to be offered contract extension. Meanwhile Pep is in soup, left Barca for nothing. Pep starts looking for clubs one of them probably Man City, Bayern which makes Roman uncomfortable. And he is looking for a moment to use hammer to target RDM. Good chances are Pep taking over here. This is my theory
