I really do appreciate that comment. Honestly, being a man down vs RM made me have even more respect for Chelsea for your performance with one man down at Camp Nou last season.
A lot of people hate on Chelsea for playing as they call it, "anti-football" (which is absolute BS if you ask me), but I have nothing but respect for the way Chelsea won the Champions League last year.
And honestly, maybe United getting screwed over by the ref (imo) is just karma for our luck vs Liverpool and especially Chelsea this season....
Anyway, thanks for the comment
"Football lost, because football was second on the agenda that night". I actually never thought of it that way, and I gotta' say, I agree with it.
It is a shame that a game that looked so promising had to be affected this much by referee decisions. You have no clue how much I just wanted a regular game, with no controversies. I got angry when Torres got sent off, because I knew it had ruined a good game. And when the replays showed that Chicha was offside, I immediately stopped celebrating, and thought "damn, the ref really made a mess out of this game". I still think we would've scored if the goal wasn't counted. I mean, it was 9 vs 11, and we were just passing the ball around til the clock runs out. I think we would've attacked and scored if we had to.
To be honest, I can completely see where you, along with the rest of the Chelsea fans, are coming from. Can't imagine how angry I'd be if I were in your position. I still think Torres was slightly lucky to have gotten away with a yellow with his challenge on Cleverly, and at the end of the day, when I looked at the highlights, I felt like Karma caught up to 'Nando, but as I said, two wrongs don't make a right.
Personally, I've been in a pretty bad mood since this Sunday, cause it literally felt like it was everyone vs United. I read sooo many childish comments aimed at us in the past few days, that I feel like my head is gonna' explode, lol. As a result, I myself have been slightly rude at times.
The more I think about it, the more I agree with your sentence that football itself was second on the agenda that day. I don't recall many discussions about the game itself. It's mostly insults, and referee conspiracies. Lol
Anyways, you've made some good points, and you write in a way that doesn't come out as being rude or provoking in any way, even though you're not agreeing with the rest of the United fans. As far as I'm concerned, you're more than welcome on the United page anytime!
Cheers!
