Former Bolton manager Sam Allardyce has begun in earnest his job at the helm of Newcastle United.
Newcastle is that rare “one of those clubs” that on paper has a really good squad, the likes of Duff, Owen, Martins, Dyer, Shay Given, Scott Parker and Emre are on the payroll yet they never seem to deliver, personally i have always thought that the club brought in really bad managers (since Keegan) and Glen Roeder was one of them.
It excites me to see what Allardyce cam accomplish with this team, he has already worked wonders with Bolton on a very tight budget and now with Newcastle he has more cash to splash than ever before but than again looking at the players at his disposal there isn’t really much he needs to do except maybe bringing in a good defender or two.
He has also begun laying down the axe and 5 players are on their way out, Titus Bramble,Craig Moore, Olivier Bernard, as well as keeper Pavel Srnicek and loan signing Oguchi Onyewu are the first 5 to be told that there’s no future for them at Newcastle.
Let’s see how this squad turns out next season, my bet is they will be a top 6 team.
