Sulley Muntari strikes to keep Internazionale in the league hunt

Sulley Muntari came in from the cold and scored his first club goal in a year to give Internazionale a battling 1-0 Serie A win at Genoa tonight.

The Ghana midfielder has barely featured under the new coach, Rafael Benítez, this term but, after coming on for the injured Esteban Cambiasso, he unleashed a 25-yard drive on the stroke of half-time which the goalkeeper Eduardo somehow let in.

The Portugal keeper redeemed himself slightly in the second half when keeping out Jonathan Biabiany's volley while Genoa's Luca Toni was a constant menace as the hosts missed several chances.

Inter, who visit White Hart Lane to play Tottenham in the Champions League on Tuesday, moved a point behind the leaders Lazio, who are at Palermo on Sunday, and a point above Milan before their home game with Juventus tomorrow.
