• Sturridge may start for Bolton after loan move from Chelsea
• Wolves' relegation battle boosted by O'Hara's loan deal
Perhaps the surprise of the January transfer window was that Gary Cahill remains a Bolton player and Owen Coyle expressed relief that none of his squad were the subject of bids. Incoming, though, has been David Wheater of Middlesbrough, and Chelsea's Daniel Sturridge, on loan until the season's close, and the manager hopes the latter can emulate Jack Wilshere's success last season, after also joining on a temporary basis.
Bolton are 11th and have 30 points so are looking up to a possible European berth for next season rather than down at the spectre of relegation. Losing Premier League status, though, is a real possibility for Wolves. But having signed Adam Hammill (from Barnsley), Leigh Griffiths (Dundee), Jamie O'Hara (on loan from Spurs) and Adrian Basso (unattached), Mick McCarthy's big survival push starts tonight as his team are second-bottom yet only two points from safety.
