Hey guys, I know I might not get an answer in 32 years on this forum but I want to ask any stray user that has stumbled upon this page if you really count the supporters shied? I know that in American/Canadian sports leagues, the best regular season finisher gets a title and fans take that pretty seriously. However, as soccer fans, we know the majority of soccer leagues around the world don't use this system and that most non north american fans would see it as pointless to award a team a title when the season isn't really over. I have to agree with this, I feel like the shield has no place in soccer because the season isn't over, there are still playoffs ahead to determine the league's real winner. Whether you agree with the playoffs or not, its the continuation of the MLS season and has been since its inception. The MLS cup is the real title that determines the best team in the league because that team is the last left standing and that is the seasons absolute end. Without Supporters shields, this would be the all time success charts of the MLS. This list only includes MLS Cups,Open Cups (Canadian cup for the 3 Canadian mls clubs) and Concacaf Champions Leagues.

I wish more people would talk here because I really wish I can chat MLS.
MLS is gonna be awesome in the next couple of years with stars like Defoe, Bradley, Kaka, Villa and Lampard.
+1
Orlando, New York, and Atlanta all to have teams in the league in the next few years.. wow it is just so awesome to see Soccer (football) expand and grow all over North America.

This league started with 10 teams as recently as 1996 and will soon bounce up to 22 teams in 14 states and 3 Canadian provinces by 2017 (unless they add a few more)
I would love to see just one more Canadian city get a club... should be Edmonton because they have a huge population and a huge city, definitely the next best after they put Canada's 3 biggest cities in the league.
Edmonton is pretty good shout as long as they don't give ontario another team i'm fine :)
Now apparently San Diego wants a club too.
TFC Good start to the season, Defoe with two
