The Sociedad articles are starting to rise. This one is on homegrown talent:

"Pele said Wednesday that young Brazilian striker Neymar is better than the Argentina forward, and reiterated that he doesn't think Messi belongs in the conversation about who is the best player ever."

http://espn.go.com/sports/soccer/story/_/id/7800924/pele-says-lionel-messi-not-good-brazil-neymar

Barca did the smartest move in at least the past 10 years by getting Neymar. Good luck next season
what a dickhead, such a legend but words coming from his mouth is beginning to piss ppl off. For god sake, neymar has yet to play in europe.

Pele's just crassly supporting his countrymen, as well as trying to keep his legacy at the top. He comes across as easily threatened and jealous by others success.

Plus there's the whole Brasil v Argentina backdrop drama.
If Pele appears to be a smug, it's all because of the verbal jabs and abuses thrown at him on a daily basis. It's easy here to judge people. Isn't it? A normal human reaction is to be defensive, and if you disagree that's fine, but you are WRONG....

Mad93 I suggest you to google quotes on Pele coming from Maradona. You will get an idea what Im talking about.

The Inside Story of La Real’s Rapid Rise. Quality stuff.

Info on their newly appointed manager as well.

“It is the moment for [Arrasate] to assume this responsibility. Jagoba knows the internal workings at La Real absolutely and he has all the characteristics we were looking for. This is not an experiment – an experiment would be to bring in a coach from outside who did not know us.”

Great article!! Worth reading!Thx for sharing!

"Then there is the inseparable pair of Iñigo Martínez and Asier Illarramendi, who had shorter journeys and used to share a taxi together for their first training sessions at the club. The man responsible for several of the recruitments from outside the area, Eric Olharts, used to drive Griezmann to training from school personally – it was a personal touch, a family one."

"They have since tied down all their players to long term deals, inputting high release clauses of €30m all across the board for the most significant. At one point Griezmann did appear a handful, speaking to the media often about a move, but over the last year however the young Frenchman has toned down his icon status; it’s no surprise someone had a word within the walls of Zubieta."

Also today is the Segunda division first round playoffs (2nd legs):

Almeria v Las Palmas
Girona v AD Alcorcon

Both matches ended 1-1 last week.
Almeria v Girona will compete for the final promotion spot.
Mt1234 who you hoping to win?
+1
Aye, I wish I knew more about the clubs. Completely unfamiliar with them. I don't think Girona ever played in the Primera Division, while Almeria has only (just recently) played 4 seasons in the top flight.

Do you have any insight into the clubs? Feel free to share any opinions you have.
Almeria for me, there is some players that actually plays in the top flight and they still here.
Spain v Uruguay in the Confederations Cup today.

Mexico v Italy is the earlier match in the other group.

Group of death A: Brasil, Japan, Mexico, Italy
Group of death B: Spain, Uruguay, Nigeria, Tahiti
"Apparently, what tipped off investigators is the fact that 10 players were listed as dependents on his tax returns. If found guilty Messi could face up to six years in prison and a large fine, Better hope the Judge is not a Real Madrid fan."

You are a complete and total @Joke. Did you read the original article Matt (a quality Saints supporter) referenced?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-22877408

It didn't say ANY of what you quoted above.

What you did quote was Matt's (uncited) conjecture. So you'll have to ask Matt where he picked up the obviously objective lines you quoted. Hopefully he wasn't lifting from dailymail, mirror, sun, or goal.com.

Are you saying Matt is being dishonest too ? Or that just applies to me ? Lol You are exceedingly hypocritical recently. very stubborn too
"Paco Jémez invited every member of his squad, the backroom staff and their families into the Rayo Vallecano dressing room for the final team talk of the season, 'because we are what we are because of them'." - Sid Lowe

"Messi and his father are accused of allegedly defrauding more than 4 million euros ($5.3 million) in income tax returns for the years 2007, 2008 and 2009."

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/soccer/2013/06/12/lionel-messi-tax-fraud-case/2414647/

Why Messi? Why?
+1
Do you even read the links you post? As per usual you're being BLATANTLY disingenuous and insincere in misrepresenting what is actually happening and being said. Dishonesty makes you a complete @Joke.

Looks like I'll have to hold your hand yet again. Here goes...
"Professor Sandalio Gomez, said that if found guilty of evading tax on his image rights, Messi could be liable to a fine amounting to 150 percent of the earnings concealed. A guilty verdict would not carry a jail sentence, Gomez said."
"Former Portugal star Luis Figo was last year forced to pay 2.45 million euros in income tax from his time at Barcelona. The tax authorities said the money was due from the 1997-1999 period and pertained to his image rights."

Why Luis Figo? Why?
"Gregor Reiter, a German attorney specializing in sports law, said Messi's difficulties show "how important it is for athletes to have excellent and highly-trained counsellors and agents" to handle their financial affairs, as player payments often travel across international borders and complicate tax assessments."

If you could read (you've proven yourself completely inept) then you'd realize that this paragraph is saying Messi didn't choose the best financial advisors, and the blame should be essentially placed at the advisor's feet for any funny accounting that occurred.

Why Messi's financial advisor? Why?
"Stefan Szymanski, the Stephen J. Galetti Professor of Sport Management in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Michigan, said the case appeared more political than football-related as tax authorities looked to make an example of Messi.
"I think it's grandstanding," he said. "They see it as a demonstration effect - everybody takes notice. Everybody thinks, I'd better pay my taxes."

I'm fairly sure you couldn't find Spain on a map (even if every country were clearly labelled), so I highly doubt you're cognizant of Spain's economic climate.
"Spain has been cracking down on tax evasion as it fights to repair the country's public finances amid recession and the collapse of its once-booming real estate sector."
I was not dishonest. I just posted the link here, but it seems you are suffering from chronic hatred for people who don't worship your God. And what's with all the personal attacks? Are you trying to scare me?:O

At the end, I am glad you were wrong again.
