how comes theres always fans doing racist chants in serie A? i dont see any reason why they do it?
+2
When you say "always" , not only it's false it's also a derogatory remark toward Italians. Just read history that's all I can say.
I don't think history is going to convince him. You should have just ended without the history part.
Really sad that racist chants are still used. People (whichever league) that get caught chanting such things should be banned for life
I'm convinced that it's pure intimidation. I believe most of these people who condone and engage in racist behaviour aren't actually racist, they simply want to provoke the players. Personally I find that if people yell any ordinary abuse at me I take no notice whatsoever and ignore them but when it concerns my racial background I feel threatened and I react. Nonetheless it can't be tolerated, it's unacceptable that a person's race should be used against them for intimidation.
All the same it's wrong to generalise that Italy has more racist sentiments than other nations particularly after all the incidents related to racism we've seen in England over the last few seasons. Ultimately everyone needs to stop accusing each other of racism and discussing who's more or less racist, we need to unite against the issue as a whole.

Dan2989 Racists are everywhere, it's just a matter of being able to separate them from the other fans.
Read about AFC Ajax which is a case much worse:

Ultras always do that if the player is white they call him names they talk about their mothers, sisters and what not . Ibra was called "zingaro" (gypsy) and with black players they use their race to provoke them by making monkey noises and other despicable things. Other times they make fun of tragedies that happened in football for example fiorentina fans had t-shirts that said -39 referring to the Heysel disaster where Juventus fans died . Italy should follow what England did if you cant behave you will be banned from the stadium!!

That's another issue as well, this outrageous way in which fans make references to tragedies and act so proud about it. Juve fans used to often mock Torino fans through the Superga tragedy and I remember 2 seasons ago Inter fans raised insulting banners about Scirea. It's equally disturbing that such measures are taken to provoke opposition players and fans. I think these cases shouldn't be taken lightly, the FIGC have to do something about it.
So it appears that Manchester City and the New York Yankees have teamed up to form and own an expansion MLS club, to be named New York City FC and play in the 2015 season.

More like spend that money. It's going to be hugely expensive to begin with.
It's a great idea though. I don't follow the MLS but I'm sure adding another team will only bolster it's efforts into incorporating more American fans.

i think the sheihks are going to use their own money, city's name is just on the project but it's the sheihks who will be spending. i'm not sure what they are trying to play at. i have my doubts about their project, i don't understand their intentions. they've dumped a ton of money in their city project and city based initiatives around the globe, but i don't know what the endgame is. at least with roman we know it's all about short term gains and trophies and CL, but idk what the shiehks are after here.
they are too rich they didn't know what else to do with the money.just like my friend.he's soo sooo rich that he didn't know what else to do.so he make rebounding on his p***s hair
lmao at some people
Im damm sure all you utd fans tones would be different if utd were the one sealing the deal
The only time i ever agreed with fergie, is when he said city will not go away.. now watch city recruit these bandwagon fans from new york
Chill out and smoke some blunt dont let city progress get to you

They trying to expand their fanbase because before 2009 there wern't so much people in the US or around the world who knew about city. You could probably walk up to a person and say "Manchester" and the first thing they think about is United lol.
ah yes it seems it is about expanding the city brand. seems like an extremely roundabout way of doing it. i suppose they think because nyc is an international city, having a popular franchise there will win over fans across the USA and beyond... it could take many many years before NYCFC has that kind of popularity in the USA, talk less of translating to more city fans... unless they try to speed it up by injecting tons of cash like with city, but usa has salary cap and more spending regulations, so idk if that will work.
i think it's a bit misguided and roundabout, but only time will tell.

mordor will never be the same!!
edit: more serious note. that makes 3 out of 4 longest serving managers leaving their jobs. add to that 2 sugar daddy clubs also switching managers. what a crazy end to this season.

It's going to be a hugely transitional season for many clubs next year. I hope Pulis does not go to Everton....
Apparently he was sacked because Stoke weren't able to "raise the bar". Quite seriously how much higher could the bar possibly be set for Stoke?
So does this mean Stoke will try and play football in the future? Who will come in? Owen Coyle? Mark Hughes? Martin O'Neill? Or Gus Poyet.. that would be one helluva turn-around in style!

Monaco with two breathtaking additions. That quite dissapointing from Rodriquez, he could've turned out to be a star at a top premier league, instead opting to join monaco who will probably replace him when they find someone else more "high profile" Just like what City did to Roque Santa Cruz.
If Monaco sign another 4-5 world class players. Monaco vs PSG would be the El Cashico of Ligue 1.
When I go Paris in holidays I would love to see Monaco vs PSG

i just don't see how anyone who knows football and is a fan of a club that gets linked to so many players can trust a word the Metro says that isn't backed up with quotes
MONACO HAVE SIGNED JOÃO MOUTINHO AND JAMES RODRIGUÉZ

I feel sad for the way Stan's career had to end, he was the kind of player that you can't hate.
and didn't Ferreira and Owen retire like a decade ago? :P

I love Ferreira. But he was by no means an EPL icon. He will be remebered, but solely for his Chelsea efforts.
Its been on my mind the whole week and without any bias, I would have to say its suarez vs Newcastle.

Zilchy I thought you would have picked 1 out of the 10 goals of the season contenders that Bale has provided
Bale vs West Ham as a ridiculous long-range goal.
Defoe vs West Ham as an individual goal. Did all the work himself, didn't need a good lobbed ball to get past the defense.

NO WAY that Suarez goal would be considered goal of the season... are u kidding me??? Bale ALONE scored 10goals better than that one.
Bale didn't score 10 goals better than that one .. it's not all about long range strikes but also the timing of the run, control, composure and finishing ability which suarez should for that goal .. it was world class!
definitely suarez one for me. little biased but that was class stuff..
bale scored some long range too, but i will have to go with suarez cos that kind of ball control and then tricky turn and finish was just amazing.
Edit: ^ that vanpersie goal was class too , ball coming from behind and to hit it with that precision too good. I think he scored one similar goal when he was at arsenal.
I am fan of these kind of goal cos long range and all u know sometimes need luck but to score the one that suarez and van persie scored u have to be very good at ball control.

@Paddy: Problem is there's been soo many long range strikes from various players eg Bale's efforts, RVP's volley, that Aston Villa volley etc that it makes them less impressive. So I'm going for a goal that was different to the rest and still showed off some sublime skill, that chest down control is amazing.
My absolute favourite goal this year was the one Spurs conceded vs Lyon, that amazing half volley from the left fullback. But that's not in the Premier League so Suarez is my choice.
Oh and Joeymac, RVP was offside, very marginally ;) I can't give the no.1 goal to a player who's offside.

Why no one talk about this one? Seriously.

Solo goal, beats a bunch of defenders on the run and a brilliant long-range strike at the end of it all. I think this shows the most ability, a combination of dribbling ability, speed, and finishing.
Suarez received a great lob that pretty much beat all the defenders for him, he just had to control it past the GK...

Nice I never saw that one this season. And come on SS, imagine trying to control that chest down, it's a brilliant piece of skill.
True, but I still stand by my opinion that Defoe's goal required more ingenuity, drive, and skill. He did it all himself! Far better finish too.
Prize money for each EPL club by table standing:

LOL @ Liverpool's Total money and/or Live TV money :D
More than/close to about 4 teams that finished above.

^ the money for league position is pretty small, 700k per spot.
tv money just reflects how big the fanbase is, because it is based on how many of the clubs' games were broadcasted live on tv.
liverpool obviously has a bigger fanbase than chelsea and everton for example, so you'd expect more tv money. for me the curious thing is why chelsea and arsenal got less tv money than spurs? especially with them crashing out of the domestic cups so early (or are those tv payments separate?)

Spurs were in Europa which plays on Thursdays. Meaning more Sunday matches which tend to be televised.
If anyone wants to see, here are the 5 or so best Bale goals this season:

I have to say he is getting really consistent with his long efforts lol. So many times he'd cut in on his left foot and just thump one in the top right corner or top left doesn't really matter.
When a player scores one long range effort some consider it as a fluke but Bale has been scoring goals like that all season and I liked his goal against west ham.
whoever said dat long range goal are "fluke" should just shot themselves
its 10% luck,
20% skill,
15% concentrated power of will,
5% pleasure,
50% pain,
And 100% reason to remember the name!

^A lot are definitely flukes. Poor strikers of the ball coming up with ridiculous goals. Bale has proven that he doesn't need luck as he has scored like 10 goals from outside the box this season.
