was wondering what people think about park ji sung retiring. has it been good for the national team? he said that he needed to give younger players a chance, and I think he was spot on. a lot of younger guys have stepped up as far as midfielders go. i think when older guys stick around for too long it's actually harmful.
His form was getting worse right after a terrific 10/11 season. I think he made a good move. I don't think any football player in his 30s can play a box-to-box style like Park. Man Utd really need a player like him right now but Korea can move on without him.
Another reason on his retirement is due to his knee problem. He wasn't getting much playing time last season which was a shame because he still has a lot to offer. And as we all saw from the Olympics, we're doing well without him so it was a good choice for him to retire.

lee keun ho is awesome. it really sucked when psg cancelled his transfer, he probably would have done ok. so now he has to play in the korean second division? sangju is automatically being relegated after this season. what a complete waste of talent. no wonder the olympic team was playing like warrior poets against japan.

What a goal by Park, even 3 defenders weren't enough to contain him. And Koo with the captain's performance. Prior to the match he said he'll not finish the tournament without scoring a goal and he didn't disappoint :) Full credits to all players they've done amazing and made the country proud! really disappointing today. nobody seemed to b that interested. hong seemed to be ok with the draw, but now they have to play team gb who look nothing like the sluggish pedestrian england senior side. i've never seen an english team boss the midfield against any team before, team gb dominated the midfield against a highly fancied uruguayian side. team gb look classy and skillful, and honestly i would rather play england.
