Here's the good news, every time Italy is embroidered in a domestic betting scandal, they win the tournament (2006 World Cup)
Prandelli has cut his 32-man squad down to 25, with Viviano (Palermo), Criscito (Zenit), Astori (Cagliari), Bocchetti (Rubin), Cigarini (Atalanta),Schelotto (Atalanta) and Verratti (Pescara) set to return home.
As is stands, the 25-man squad consists of…
Goalkeepers: Buffon (Juventus), De Sanctis (Napoli), Sirigu (PSG);
Defenders: Abate (Milan), Balzaretti (Palermo), Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini (Juventus), Maggio (Napoli), Ogbonna (Torino), Ranocchia (Inter);
Midfielders: De Rossi (Roma), Diamanti (Bologna), Giaccherini, Marchisio, Pirlo (Juventus), Montolivo (Milan), Thiago Motta (Paris St. Germain), Nocerino (Milan);
Forwards: Balotelli (Manchester City), Borini (Roma), Cassano (Milan), Destro (Siena), Di Natale (Udinese), Giovinco (Parma)
Two more are suppose to be cut, with most people assuming that two of the trio of Borini, Destro and Ranocchia to go home as well

It's time to gather people. Club seasons in the past, WE start on the 10th vs Spain. Lucky us.
Here's the schedule:
10 June 2012
18:00 UTC+2
Spain-Italy
14 June 2012
18:00 UTC+2
Italy-Croatia
18 June 2012
20:45 UTC+2
Italy-Republic of Ireland
Thank god for afternoon matches, I can watch 2 out 3 :)
Getting 1st or 2nd won't really matter. We will either get France or England with both on the same level as of now, but things will be more clear once the matches start.
Probable top8: England/France
Probable top4: Germany/Netherland
Tough road to the final.

Topping your group would be crucial. You really want England over France. At least England has less of a danger factor than France. The French are thoroughly unpredictable.
Agree with DerBomba. Especially with England still going through a transition with Roy Hodgson and, as Capello has commented, they seem to be exhausted after their campaign compared to other countries.
Spain will be difficult but if Chiellini is healthy and the back 4 are solid, I think we have a good chance to win.

That's why I said we'll see when things start up :)
I think that a top 4 finish would be a great achievement and getting 3rd would leave us with smiles.
This is new team. 2008 was an after thought and we barely lost to Spain, 2010 was a mixture of bad ideas.
Now we have the new team and this is the beginning. I'm hoping Prandelli will find this team's identity and get a positive result. Then we can make a push for the World Cup again.

England? Is it just me or i think Ukraine might surprise everyone by winning their group? Or maybe Sweden also.. :p :p
