Modric would be the best...

Ltm017 7 years ago
That's why he said would be.... (I think) lol
Sergio 7 years ago
Yeah I wanted to show my expression in the past. Thus the reason I put the '.... ' (dots)
ManUK (Manchester United) 7 years ago
I like doing that...
Zizou10 (Arsenal) 6 years ago
There are many great play makers ahead of Modric, regardless if his in or out of the WC
Sergio 6 years ago
Actually there isn't, believe it or not. Contribution for club and country is very different. Indeed many players are better then modric when it comes to playing for club. But the way modric pulled croatia so far in euro's I won't say many get in his way. Just think of the other contenders ; Xavi. Lampard?

.... I will still prefer modric

1. Kaka (Even though he is injured right now)

2. Ronaldinho (Because he is in his top form like when he was in Barca)

3. Xavi (The mastermind behind the great Barca's wonderful style on playing and for his country)

4. Fabregas (The maim pillar of Arsenals game plan.... Every ball goes through him and he has been doing a fine job in supplying those ball to the strikers for a long time now)don't you think....

5. Lampard (He has been proving he is one of the best in the club level even though there is no huge underlines is the national level)

HOW about THAT.... ;D
Sergio 6 years ago
Nice. HOW about THAT....
Juno (AC Milan) 7 years ago
Except for Xavi, I kinda think the best playmakers in the world are going downhill at the moment regarding their form. Ok, maybe Maradona....
Kimaway17 (Liverpool) 7 years ago
The best is Iniesta
Ltm017 7 years ago
Thank You. I agree
Liverpoolfan502 (Liverpool) 7 years ago
I would look at - Clint Dempsey the Fulham star and American International
Sergio 6 years ago
I agree he is absoutly superb!
Kestonj (Barcelona) 7 years ago
I would go with:

1- Xavi (A player who need no expliantion, just look at him anytime barca plays)
2- Iniesta (Xavi's understudy)
3- Fabregas (The glue and mastermind of arsenal's midfield)
4- Ronaldhino (Superb vision, skill and trickery)
5- Lampard (technically gifted player)

Its a pity the majority of this list came from Spain...

Liverpoolfan502 (Liverpool) 7 years ago
Clint Dempsey, Josi Altidore, Defoe, David VIlla, Fernando Torres
Pragathish (AC Milan) 7 years ago
Defoe? David Villa? Fernando Torres? Come on, they are goal-getters!The topic is about playmakers!
Megoogie (Club América) 7 years ago
The whole mexican national team are the top playmakers
Sergio 7 years ago
But the best?

No american player belongs in this conversation. I love dempsey and I do think that he is the closest thing we have to being on this list.... But he is still far away from it.

Altidore is a definite no. He can play with the world's best (goal vs. Spain) but watch him on a regular basis, and he routinely disappears from international and premier league matches.

I'm biased against Donovan, never been a big fan. Too many turnovers in the midfield.

My top 5 would probably be 1. Fabregas 2. Kaka 3. Messi 4. Gerrard 5. Ronaldo (don't like him.... But he changes games)

I wish Arshavin was making the trip
Sergio 7 years ago
Me too. For me he is the most underrated and humbelest player in the world
ManUK (Manchester United) 7 years ago
Which one?
Kelfc (Arsenal) 6 years ago
Arshavin -_-
ScooterHayes (Chelsea) 6 years ago
Is it fair to say no American player belongs in the conversation? Because some of the brightest stars of late in the Premiere ship have been Americans. If they make a deep run in the WC, surely there will a great playmaker involved. Americans plays better on the international level, too, if you missed that.

I'm not saying they are number one (nowhere near), but don't rule them out
ScooterHayes (Chelsea) 6 years ago
And Arshavin IS the Russian Messi.
Menegeg (Liverpool) 7 years ago
1. Iniesta  2. Kaka  3. Gerrard  4. Fabregas  5. Misimović (Bosnien-Herzegowina will come far!)
