Paul The Psychic Octopus :D

He made another correct prediction again on the 3rd-4th placing match. Still 100% correct record...

7 for 7! If somebody was betting on his predictions they'd be making some serious coin.

Perfect.... As much as I would like the Netherlands to win, hats off to Paul. The director of the aquarium must be p*ssed if he had not make any big bucks from the predictions....

I hate this octopus. 100% correct - Spain just one
ScooterHayes (Chelsea) 6 years ago
My hats off to the Man of the Tourney, the only guy to hold a 100% perfection rate throughout the tournament. Paul the Octopus. Congrats, mate

8 of 8 predictions are correct. He is merely 2 years old, should be in the position to make more predictions in the next wc - wonder what's the life span of this species?
Jetlifari (Arsenal) 6 years ago
I think that's the limit of his arcane powers my friend....He only has eight tentacles
I heard someone say that he always picks the box on the right though, for an octopus he seems to be a little "inflexible"
Anyway, it seems like he's a specialist so maybe we should call him Doctor Octopus?

Now, this is one super intelligent octopus...

You know what they should've done? They should've got 4 boxes with Sneijder and Vill and Muller and Forlan pictures

Paul the octopus has been kidnapped and most likely killed by a criminal underworld betting ring who didn't like pauls predictions.
Initially the gang demanded a ransom, which the owners declined to pay, to which the gang replied that they would cut pauls tentacles off a post them one by one.
Alarms bells started ringing when 3 tentacles arrived in the post at a chinese take away in london.
Its amazing what criminals will do to make a few squid.
Rip paul

Has he no offspring with the same talent?
Jetlifari (Arsenal) 6 years ago
@Tony: Man, that story was "ap-paul-ing", I didn't "sea" anything about it on the web though.... Definitely something to "ink" about if it's true

Paul has been granted diplomatic immunity by the Spanish Government...

Just came across this on FFT website:

BERLIN - Paul the oracle octopus was given a replica of the World Cup on Monday as a reward for his perfect eight-for-eight record in picking matches as bettors worldwide collected their winnings based on his selections. The two-year-old octopus with possible psychic powers turned into a worldwide celebrity for accurately predicting the winner of Germany's five World Cup wins as well as their two defeats. Paul also tipped Spain to beat Netherlands in Sunday's final. "We've had a lot of offers for Paul but he will definitely be staying with us and returning to his old job - making children smile," Sea Life spokeswoman Tanja Munzig in Oberhausen told Reuters after presenting Paul with the World Cup replica.

"There's no rational reason why he always got it right."

I guess it pays to be "wrapped up" in football, lol
Tony (footytube staff) 6 years ago
But paul has been wrong in the past bryan, he got the european championship final wrong when he went for a german win and spain beat them, so he's not always right
Golaire (Bayern München) 6 years ago
That was two years ago, he was just a baby then, his powers were not fully developed yet.
Jetlifari (Arsenal) 6 years ago
Hahaha, yeah.... Now he's in his terrible twos...
BNetworks (Chelsea) 6 years ago
Read somewhere that he plans to retire from making predictions and go on with his life as an ordinary octopus. At the pinnacle of his career? Oh no...

Sad news, footytube....

Paul the Octopus has passed away.

At least he doesn't have to suffer anymore.... Suffer from enraged fans and the like. I guess he had a good life, being fed and cared for daily. And idolized
