Wigan Athletic are close to completing a deal for Villarreal's reserve team striker Marco Ruben.

According to the Primera Liga club's website, the 23-year-old Argentinian will travel to England in the coming days to put the finishing touches on the move.

Ruben, who has also played for River Plate, Rosario Central and Recreativo Huelva, has scored nine goals in the Spanish Segunda Division for Villarreal be this season.

Villarreal attacker Sergio Eguren will sign terms today with Lazio.

It’s reported Lazio will play £300, 000 for the loan and a permanent signing would be worth £2. 6m.

“The deal is done, ” Eguren’s agent Jose Tarraga told lalaziosiamonoi. It. “Lazio have called Villarreal and reached an agreement. He is a Lazio player. We’ll sign the contract tomorrow and Sebastian will fly out to Rome to play for Lazio.

“The deal is for a loan with the right to buy at the end of the season. Sebastian will come to Rome until June, then Lazio will decide whether or not to take up their option. ”
