It's just a fad. Just like when they used to say Messi is nothing without barcelona, then it was Barcelona is nothing with Messi, now it's Barcelona is nothing without the referee. Haters gon' hate!
It is indeed the referees have become more and more problematic these days and it is indeed barcelona is often helped by the referees. Nice performance for barca on this game though, unlucky couldn't turn into a win
Actually, Barcelona have suffered by referee calls much more than they have benefited. We drew 2 games because of ungiven penalties. In almost all the El Clasicos, the likes of Pepe, Lass, Coentrao, Carvaliho were lucky to stay on the pitch. I know we were VERY lucky to have Pinto on the pitch and there's no denying that. But when you look at the big picture this season, refs have done us more harm than good.
There are other clubs, however, that have greatly benefited from refs this season. You of all people as a united fan should know this
St10r you are the most biased Barca fan I've ever heard. It is one thing to say everyone gets help and hurt from the refs sometimes, but to say Barca, as a whole, has been hurt by refs is nothing short of a joke. They are currently champions league and La Liga holders, and therefore, in my opinion, still the best team right now. However, Barca has certainly benefited from dubious ref decisions, especially in the champions league
Have you watched all of Barcelona's games this season? I know we have been favoured in the past but this year has been horrible for us. Please don't call me a biased Barcelona fan when you probably have no clue what I'm talking about
@St1or: I agree refs have been hit and miss for EPL and La Liga this season, but I disagree with the thought that referees are biased against Barcelona. Look at RM - apart from in el clasico where they play dirty, in La Liga and champions league against other teams they are so confident and are scoring non stop. Even if they have decisions against them they are winning anyways, but Barcelona seem to just draw...
I never said they are biased against Barcelona. Just that a LOT of calls have gone against Barcelona. There have been plenty of clear cut penalty claims this season that have gone against us. Never mind the countless number of fouls that have been committed against us that has gone unpunished
This was a great game, valencia is a top team that produces top players, to bad they don't have the money to hold on to them, But they'll continue to produce international stars.
Messi had some good changes, but really needs to learn when to pass the ball and trust his team mates. The second match should be great
You're both right. Messi was selfish at times but also created 3 great chances for Alexis and Alves. This was one of the most exciting matches I've seen all year and it includes all the El Clasicos.
Rooney is overrated and I have to say Messi is too good that I think he's underrated people skip the fact that he's a complete midfielder and forward at the same time lol
Whoever said Ronaldo only scored from penalties? That is very obviously factually wrong. He's had a few lately, big deal. And yes, he's a better penalty taker than Messi
Don't care what anyone says, but messi IS burnt OUT, AND HE needs TO BE rested. It's been visible over the last few games, although he has scored some goals, ye can see his sharpness is not what it is, he's not running at players with the same kind of confidence, he just dosen't seem himself. He's played to much football, and this season he is getting hacked every time he gets the ball. I don't know what pep does. But if he's not rested, I think he will eventually become more and more ineffective. Now I know people will say 'what do ye mean he played well, or he made this happen or that happen, in my opinion he's lost his confidence a little bit, and I think it's due to tiredness
For me it sounds like you are trying to say that if Barcs losses any Game then messi is to blame cause of his Perfomance Nooo Valencia is a stable team and I think the last apperance ended 2-2 but you may be right with messis condition he really needs some rest
@African rebel that's not what I'm saying and I didn't imply that anywhere in my comment. What I'm saying is that messi has played so much football in the last year, there are always big things expected of him, physically he seems to be getting hammered, more so than previous years, and to me he just looks burnt out, and needs to be rested, I'm not sure if people agree with me, but that's what I think
With the chances we made we were unlucky.... As a Madridista you can't say that. You guys said we were lucky to beat you when YOU should have had 4 guys sent off both legs
Ha you can say we could have had TWO sent off from both legs. Ramos sending off wasnt a sending off anyone could see that. Lass should have been sent off; he wasnt and as a result you got a goal which I'm sure youd much rather have. And we should have won that game, mostly because of the wasted chances in the first half and the divinely inpsired goal from daniel alves. And before any idiots say I'm trolling, I like to watch the videos when barca don't win. It makes me feel good and I might learn something interesting about why they lost
I sympathize for Valencia in that Pinto wasn't sent off. He should have been.
@Atjaved
The red card argument was done in great detail in the madrid games. Don't make this about madrid. This is about Barcelona and Valencia; 2 teams who are still in the CDR
