To be fair, the pitch was awful and that's an understatement. The boys probably would've performed better if they accepted the 'turf' as cement, adjusted and played accordingly. The costa rican players probably grew up playing on dirt, so advantage CR.
I was disgusted with our performance. We gave up possession with stupid clearances, lacked creativity near the front line, had atrocious first touches on the ball, allowed CR to control pace of the game, and relied on set-plays for opportunities. Awful.
Does FIFA have any say on pitch condition for int'l matches? I know they shed some concern for WC matches, but qualifiers are equally as important
