Carrol is the worst buy in Premier League history, he's the most expensive English player of all time and please tell me why when you guys have players like Rooney, Owen, Lampard, Beckham, Terry, Ferdinand, .... Liverpôol sell Torres for 56 and they get Carrol for 40? No need to tell y'all Man City got Aguero for 40 and Atletico got Falcao for 40...

Spurs a changed team this year. Less of that Terrible defender Corluka because of Walker. Parker and adebayor are going to be crucial. Less of that Terrible goalkeeper Gomes.... Modric and parker will make a deadly combination not sure how Huddlestone will fit in.... And finally defoe has the strike partner he's been waiting for all this time. (no offence to crouch) funny how there was potential for us to get Parker and Modric and they both end up in spurs.

Tottenham sure have a good cahnce of beating any team when their start players (modric, parker, adebayor, bale, vdv) play like this. They have killer pace, creativity and now in adebayor a finisher. If their def can keep up, they can do better than last season even

Second that, Tottenham has been dead on when it comes to transfers. They always buy the right players for their team
And have as stated and extremely paced and creative midfield and attack. See them doing good in the Europa League this year, sad they can't play Champions

Adams should have had a straight red for that challenge on Parker! Studs up! Great game by Tottenham! What a strike from Modric

Brilliant turn under pressure from Defoe.    Adebayor needs to know when to shoot and when to pass especially when he is frustrated

Liverpool lost the plot when they bought Carroll and all those mid/lower table British midfielders. It boggles my mind how one could use such a large transfer kitty so stupidly.

Think of it this way: Pool at their best field Gerrard, Lucas, Adam, and Henderson/Downing in midfield, whereas Spurs boast (when healthy) Bale, Modric, Lennon, and VDV. Suarez may be one of the best forwards in the EPL, but that matters little when the men playing behind him are so mediocre. If Arsenal doesn't rebound dramatically, Spurs should be able to comfortably finish 4th on the table.

Wow. How can you diss us so early in the season. So your telling me after two comfortable wins they will now take 4th. Don't you remember how crap bale and modric were against city and united! Where was modric bought from. And team in the croatian league. So it does not matter where we got them but how they perform. Carroll is s**t though

Whats funny is everyone just yaps within five games and they think the season is already set! Every team has their ups and downs.... Its football

Have spurs suppoters forgiven him for wanting to leave?
SuperSpurs (Tottenham Hotspur) 2 years ago
Not yet, he has to show commitment for a lot longer than these opening games to gain back our full respect and trust, but that strike certainly helped

Wonder strike from modric

I guess Modric has accepted his fate & has decided to settle down at Tottenham for good. Great goal from him. Adebayor gave a good performance in this game but I have to say he was pretty wasteful too
Acoop13 (Juventus) 2 years ago
Agreed. Adebayor should have had 4 goals he wiffed on too many chances

@Adebayor: as usuall...
Donchino (Barcelona) 2 years ago
There's no doubt Adebayor is a top striker, but he needs to be more clinical in front of goal. Yes he scored two goals in this game but he had the chance of scoring 4 or more.... You won't get so much goal scoring opportunities in every game. Some games you one chance to win it. Good performance from him nonetheless! Great game by Spurs and a real reality check for Liverpool
