As an Inter fan I should hatte him for going to Milan. But so should Juventus fans for doing the same thing when he left for Inter. As a player, the guy is just amazing. For a guy that's 6 ft 4 in height, he does things and has qualities that you would only normally see in small players(e. G. Robinho, Pato, Sneijder etc.). One thing is for sure though, no matter what team he's on, he just keeps on winning titles. It's Amazing how this guy has managed to win with Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Barcelona & Milan. He may have an ego, but I will always be a fan of his for his great performances at Inter
Hahaha, I'm gonna' show that to a few friends of mine. I live in a college dorm with 35 others, and us guys play PES often and all of us think Ibra is always overrated, being able to do the most crazy things in the game he never does in real life
I know why people hate him (including me,yes.).Its simple,he is such a prick.
As much as I love him on the field,I f'king hate his circus off the field. He needs to learn modesty.
Look at this video, where he bullies a primavera player and unloads a kung fu kick at his back.(doesn't look like a joke)
And here,he shows his arrogance to arrigo sacchi(on live screen),who only joked that it was Ibra's bigfoot that poked in the goal.
Ibra : “Sacchi should learn to shut up. He also seems jealous because he is speaking too much.He must speak less on TV and in the newspapers. If he wants something, he must come and see me. If you don’t like how I play, don’t watch me."
Sometimes I share the sentiment. He's kinda like a blemished fruit that you realized you got at the store when you didn't mean to; still tasty, but not 100% satisfying...
If he is deemed surplus to requirements at Barcelona next season, I would like to put him in my corridor where I think his height and nose would be very useful to hang my coat and umbrella on
I was gutted when he left Inter.... I love Ibra, always have! Quality player with some of the best goals i've seen. I would love to see Leeds take him.... We all know it won't happen.... But I can dream!
Love him, or hate him, call him over-rated, but he was an absolute monster in the Serie A, and that cannot be denied. Maybe he isn't compatible with Barca's system.... But seriously, he wasn't that bad. Sure he isn't worth the money he was paid, but he is not crap
It really isn't.... I know people have said Eto'o unsettles matters off the pitch with his bad attitude, but to be honest.... He has put up with a lot of racism in Spain.... As does Balotelli in Italy
*sigh* No offence guys, but people really need to know the truth behind that transfer. There are multiple arguments to justify Barça's choice:
1/ Ibra had 5 whole years left on his contract, whereas Eto'o had only one. Eto'o would most likely leave Barça half a year later for free on a Bosman ruling. 2/ Eto'o may have scored an impressive amount of goals that season, but as a Barça fan I can tell you he missed so much that he could've scored twice as many. It was the whole team that made the goals, not just him. A player like Villa would've scored a lot more even, because he's a better finisher, of that I'm sure. 3/ Eto'o wanted to get a paycheck as high as 175, 000 € per week plus bonusses. Not even Messi, Xavi or Henry earned that much back then. 4/ Ibra, as you all mentioned had just played one hell of a season, scoring stunning goals and being top scorer in a tough league. 5/ The Barcelona board figured (and at the time I thought they were absolutely right) we needed a powerful target man up front with great technique who was able to handle the Barça way of playing football. Who would be better than Ibra? I too thought he'd be stunning a whole season long, as he had been for Inter. 6/ Before Barça showed interest, Ibra said that he wouldn't leave Inter except if it was for Barça, showing his eagerness to join the club. 7/ Last but not least: I've read that Eto'o wasn't actually sold, but loaned out in some way to Inter. If I'm correct, Inter still owes barça a certain sum of money for him.
I've also read on several websites that it was 60m+ Eto'o, or even more, but the Barça website mentioned 40, and I'm inclined to trust that source more. So all in all, the € 40m+Eto'o is a very acceptable deal. Everything indicated at that time that Ibra was the perfect man for what would make an almost perfect team even better
Jeroen you have just said everything I thought hahah very bra to good sir! I found ibra to be the perfect fit for barca after the season he had for inter, for his style of play, being very skillfull and always playing with his head up high, and making remarkable plays, when he first started with barcelona he was playing very well, people seemed to forget that, he was the lead scorer at the beginning of the season, I don't know what happened after that, maybe his love affair with pique brought his energy down, who knows but he did show sparks of greatness and that he was able to fit at barca at some points, for example the pass he made to pedro j
I feel he has a lot to offer and he scores goals, and planty of them. If they want Cesc, send us the tow lover boys over (Ibra and Pique). Oh, Yaya will do too. Then, we can send Cesc on his bike and we would have a world class defender, midfielder and striker.... Woooohooooooo
Amazing player, strong and skillful and he knows what he's doing. Even though he banged in two against us I still love him as a player.... But not as much as Pique loves him apparently
