Top Four / Bottom Three

Hello footytubers!

The 2013-14 football season ended five months ago. In July we all witnessed Germany win the World Cup. (I predicted Germany to win it and won $140 from the World Cup pool we had at work.) And now we are two months into the 2014-15 football season. I don't want to make any excuses as to why I haven't declared the winner of last season, but I was traveling during the summer and then simply did not have the willpower to look through the predictions to find the winner. However I am not a quitter and I hate leaving things unfinished, so here are the results of the 2013-14 Top Four / Bottom Three Prediction Game:

Some people made more than one prediction, but I took into account only their first one. Many people's predictions for the Top Four were ruined by 2012-13 EPL Champions Manchester United, who had some poor results under their new manager David Moyes and finished in 7th place. Another team that didn't live up to some people's expectations was Tottenham Hotspur, who finished 6th.

However a few people predicted the right Top Four teams and they are: Ashup78, DarkenLFCBarca, XXEAXx, Zlatan94310 and ManOnDMoon. Unfortunately no one predicted them in the right order, which as you all know was Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.

No one predicted the right Bottom Three teams. Most people predicted Cardiff City, who were relegated from the Premier League. And I was the only one to predict Norwich City's relegation.

So the winner of the 2013-14 Top Four / Bottom Three Prediction Game is the first person to predict the right Top Four teams and he is:

Congratulations Ashup! I remember you did very well in last season's Predictofooty as well, so you're a top notch predictor. Well done!

I will not host this prediction game for the on-going 2014-15 season. I know that Matt has asked for your predictions for this season on another topic in The Stands, so go over to that topic and make your predictions

Not that I have anything against your prediction (because in fact I love it), however putting us before your team - with all it's quality - in the table is quite surprising to say the least. Closet Liverpool fan by any chance? (haha just kidding ;P)
ManOnDMoon (Manchester City) 2 years ago
You see, I can't jinx it this way. Anyway, I had a vision at the start of the season, maybe I'm wrong
XXEAXx (Liverpool) 2 years ago
I and every other Liverpool fan hope your right! Haha

1. Man City
2. Arsenal/Chelsea
3. Arsenal/Chelsea
4. Everton

PS. I don't have anything against Liverpool, I just think that they'll fall short this year due to inconsistency. If it wasn't for Everton I'd give them my pick of 4th place
AidanLuca (Tottenham Hotspur) 3 years ago
I totally agree but I think 4th will be Spurs or Liverpool
LeDerp (Footytube Moderator) 3 years ago
Not that I lack faith, but I don't think that we'll finish 4th nor do I want us to finish 4th this season. I'd rather start next season without the extra games to play in the Europa. I think that we've lost every game we've played after a Thursday Europa match this season

I will eat my words, I'm now rooting for Liverpool to win the title. The way they've bounced back from the last few years of unending criticism is just phenomenal, plus, I'd love to see Gerrard lift the title before he retires, this is his best chance!

It's kinda funny that people here are making predictions of top 4 based on the performances of teams in the first 2 games of the EPL season, while writing off Arsenal in top 4.

My prediction:

1. Chelsea
2. Manchester City
3. Manchester United
4. Arsenal

Ideally I would take:

1. Arsenal
2. Manchester United
3. Chelsea
4. Liverpool

Kind of ironic how you say it's funny that people are making predictions this early, with you also making predictions

My prediction will be for the BPL Top 4:

1. Chelsea
2. Manchester United
3. Manchester City
4. Liverpool
