Yes keane dived, but very early in the game a russian player also had a blatant dive in the box. As much as we all hate it, it seem's to becoming a part of the modern game

Clearly wasnt a dive and his heel was clipped. The Russians didn't even complain as they knew the decision was correct. If you are talking about bad decisions then how about the free kick which led to the first goal. The Russian guy was pulling Dunnes shirt as much as Dunne was holding him off so that souldnt have been a free

It was a clear dive mate.... He even tried to dive for a penalty in the beginning of the game when he tried to pass the ball around anyukov but fell. He's a cheat and as JimmyL said, he's been doing it for years. Because of that penalty russia lost its momentum, but Ireland still played some good fighting football for the last 20 mins or so. Respect for both teams

One of the most honest assessments I've heard from an Irish fan(or any football fan in fact) in a long while. We were an embarrassment to watch and just highlighted glaring shortcomings that have been around for quite a while. Never mind an elephant, there's a whole herd in the room. The central midfield pairing is a joke, way below the standard needed at this level. I'm not questioning their commitment, far from it, but they are just not good enough and offer nothing going forward. Tuesday night is a big game and we have to come away with something from the game. Improvements much needed but I doubt we'll see any. Trapattoni will stick to his guns and another horrible 90 minutes is in store

Ireland was pushing for an equaliser for sure. The Russians started fast and raced to 2-0. That won it for them
