North Korea: dismantled. Portugal was awesome tonight
Mikesimms (Liverpool) 1 year ago
Indeed they were, shame for North Korea that they couldn't get anything more than an early exit from the tournament

Kinda sad, I actually liked north korea's fighting spirit against the brazil game and in here too, didn't think they deserved to lose this badly

Just saw Ronaldos goal as I left for work this morning. It seemed to me that everything was going right for Portugal, as if the Gods of football were smiling down on them today. It's great to see them improve their form as they have desperatley needed too, but at the same time kinda sad that North Korea had to be completley destroyed in such a shameful dispaly

What did you guys seriously expect another italy showing? Portugal is a european powerhouse and asian football light years away from South America let alone Europe. Although my sympathy lies with the North Korean team who will most likely get the firing squad back their native full fledged communist regime

To them.... Football is matter of life and death

Portugal were very good today. Although it would have been interesting to see how they would have played if North Korea had scored when Portugal were only 1 or 2 up. Unfortunately North Korea lost their way after the third goal went in because they had to start being more adventurous and committing more players forward, leaving countless gaps on the wings and in defence. This along with some sloppy errors at the back and some questionable goalkeeping made for an easy Portugal win. I hope people don't get too carried away with this victory today though because as valiant and disciplined as the Koreans were, they are by far the lowest ranked team in the competition

Hahaha I thought it was funny that ronaldo was considered the player of the match.... Since he wasn't on the field until the pass for goal he made.
And one lucky goal too.
Portugal played great.
Sad for Korea they had to see their keeper beaten several times

Biggest beat down of the tournament so far. North Korea played well the first half but it all went downhill from there. I think this win practically sent Portugal to the next round. Ivory coast would have to score atleast 10 goals to even have a chance of moving on

This man of the match stuff is ridiculous.
Hard to pick one guy out.
Portugals whole squad played an awesome game.
And. Korea wasn't that bad.
Their first half was fine.

I would give Portugal a great but not an awesome, they played bad for their standard for most of the first half, and the North Koreans had 4 possibilities to possible score in the first half, I think that the due to fact that the koreans have a dismal fitness they made it easy for the portuguese. But where respect is due; great game portugal, thank you for providing some goals to this somewhat dissapointing WC

A great show from the Portuguese and also the koreans, I think they lost big due to their form and the fact that they had to go forward and score and portugal took advantage of that. That's what I like to see both teams goin on the attack if the koreans were a bit better this would've been a really great game nevertheless both teams did well. Ronaldo man of the match!? Come on he wasn't there until that pass i'd give man of the match to Meireles or tiago
Mikesimms (Liverpool) 1 year ago
In my opinion man of the match should have definitely gone to Coentrao the Portuguese left back. All game long he was up and down the touchline, great in possession and working hard without the ball too. Ronaldo wouldn't have even had a look in throughout most of the game if it wasn't for Coentrao's tireless efforts. Very much doubt he'll still be at Benfica come august...

True coentrao was amazing today

A team that don't deserve to be in the world cup and whos place should hav been given to another european team
Sargentoblanco (Real Madrid) 1 year ago
10-1 is the biggest score ever I believe
Marinov (West Ham United) 1 year ago
North Koreans should have exchanged the keeper for their God-touched chieftain Kim Il-sung. He would have scored 50 goals from the centre and all of them with a scissor-kick

North Korea should never be in the WC, why is there 3 oriental teams in it. Their place should hav been given to another european team
Marcelolee (Sao Paulo) 1 year ago
Then is not gonna' be a World Cup
Premoli (Werder Bremen) 1 year ago
What a cocky statement.
North korea would have won against france with their performance of the first match or the first half against portugal.
Probably you didn't watch the game.
Btw outside of europe no european country ever became WC champion.
Think about it
Sammeh (Manchester United) 1 year ago
That's a ridiculous statement, really another European? Say that when England, Italy, France show up. Also South Korea beat a 'European team' Greece. Japan beat a powerhouse African team, Cameroon. If anything they should let another South American team in, NOT a European team. Just compare the South American record with the Euros this tournament, not even close to being on the same level
