I know it is shocking, but sports other than football have numerous fanbases around the world.
When you are not watching the football, what other sports do you enjoy?
Formula 1? Rugby? Cricket? Boxing? Tennis? Golf? Snooker? American Football? Baseball? Basketball?
Rather than have scattered threads on specific matches of different sports throughout the forum, this thread will act as a discussion/chat on recent events in the world of sport.
To get the ball rolling....
I am typing this at 0530 in the morning my time, why? Because I stayed up to watch the Cotto-Clottey fight on setantasports. I don't know if there are any boxing fans on footytube, but this fight was epic. I scored it 114-113 to Clottey while Cotto unexpectedly won on split decision. When they weren't exchanging rounds, they were almost evens, very difficult fight to score and Cotto's victory most likely lies in the fact he already had rounds won by default, it was up to Clottey to get the points.
Yeah Cotto won by a slim margin. I saw the highlights on ESPN. Boxing has really gone down in popularity among youth but still happens to produce big cash for some reason
I know, and for me that's what bewildered me the most. Watching advertisements go around and around for 100+ laps.... Sheesh mid-aswell make a sport of roadtripping
Hockey: It is so great, and so popular in Canada. This year's playoffs were the best in several decades, and the sport's popularity is going back up. I love the Calgary Flames, They're the greatest. The format of the sport is so original, and winning the Stanley Cup after a minimum of 98 games is surely on of the most epic victories in sports
It's definitely a battle to win the Stanley Cup, gotta' love the drama. I believe Kings will make the playoffs this season, our youngsters are ready to step up, no more "rebuilding" bullox
Are there any other baseball fans other than me? Next to soccer, baseball is my favorite sport. My Detroit Tigers are doing excellent this season, world series, here we come!
