Hey, I'm Bowl, I'm a newbie here but I've been on quite a few forums around the world so I'm nothing new in that sense I've been playing a game on a tennis forum for a couple of years(So does another guy on footytube, I won't mention his name) and I though it would translate into football quite well.
See the rules, tell me if you like it
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Playing is simple: over the course of the year choose any 3 matches from the upcoming Premier league weekend(10 matches), and post who you think will win them. The scoring points besides each fixture represent the points you score if the corresponding team wins. Whoever has the most points at the end of the year is the winner.
Example picks - Say that weekend the fixtures were: Chelsea vs Sunderland(2-17) Everton vs Arsenal(14-4) Villa vs Man Utd(13-7) Man city vs Birmingham(5-15) Newcastle vs Fulham(6-16) Stoke vs Liverpool(14-6) Spurs vs Blackburn(5-12) West Ham vs Blackpool(11-8) Wolves vs Bolton(13-6)
Then [Player 1] comes along and makes these picks: Paw01 Sunderland over Chelsea Paw02 Liverpool over Stoke Paw03 Newcastle over Fulham
Then say these were the results: Chelsea 0-3 Sunderland Liverpool 0-2 Stoke Newcastle 0-0 Fulham [Player 1] would get 17 points from Sunderland, 0 points from Liverpool(Because he got it wrong) and 3 points from Newcastle(Points were halved because it was a draw). Total score of 20 for that week. Get it?
Before posting picks, check that the matches haven't started yet.
A pick that is posted after a match started is invalid and may be replaced.
In case a match doesn't take place due to withdrawal or change of the draw, the pick is invalid and may be replaced. If a player retires or is defaulted after the match has started (even if just one point was played), the pick is valid.
If you want to amend a previous pick (cancel or change), quote the original post and add a new message to this thread. Don't edit a post and never delete it!
Don't forget, you're limited to 3 picks throughout the weekend
Odds for week 3(18th-20th December) Sunderland vs Bolton(10-10) Arsenal vs Stoke(TBD) Birmingham vs Newcastle(11-9) Blackburn vs West Ham(8-13) Wigan vs Villa(11-9) Liverpool vs Fulham(9-12) West Brom vs Wolves(8-12) Blackpool vs Spurs(11-9) Chelsea vs Man Utd(TBD) Man city vs Everton(7-13)
Is there a way to edit posts on this website? I'd like to know please.

I was actually making them up this week, I plan to work a good formula out within a couple of weeks. So these first 2-3 weeks are absolute madness. Just getting orginised. Hoping to get a good game going eventually
New formula used, see 4th comment of this post. Villa vs West Brom(9-4) Everton vs Wigan(10-11) Fulham vs Sunderland(12-8) Stoke vs Blackpool(10-11) West ham vs Man city(12-6) Newcastle vs Liverpool(11-9) Bolton vs Blackburn(10-10) Wolves vs Birmingham(12-8) Spurs vs Chelsea(11-9) Arsenal vs Man utd(10-10)
Billiam's picks: Villa over West Brom Man utd over Arsenal Bolton over Blackburn
Also, there are 30 games within 10 days at the end of December/Beginning of January. We may pick those all as 1, with 10 picks, as I am on holiday and lots of games will be postponed
Points for team A = 10sqrt b/sqrt a Points for team be = 10sqrt a/sqrt be So for Aston Villa vs West brom we'd get (8. 79 - 3. 62), rounded to (9-4). That should work, I'll put some of the values in now
