Just upload it onto Soundcloud or Vocaroo! (Also want to hear all your voices/accents, ha) Here's mine: --- (Updated with additional names/not kiddy sounding)
Take it easy; I knew you weren't a kid, but you do have a voice that could be mistaken for that of a kid. Might be a bit annoying for you, but I think it's cute. Maybe the fact I think it's cute annoys you even more though.
How the hell? You nailed it! Good job. You even got the rolling 'r' sound right! I kinda feel like Rumpelstiltskin now. I thought no English-speaking person would ever be able to get it right, haha.
So yeah.... You win one of the following prizes: * My old collection of broken Nirvana albums * A coupon for a 10% discount in a Belgian supermarket that expires tomorrow * The super special box of mystery!
I didn't even know who Gers Pardoel was until I google'd him, but I could make you some mean pannenkoeken! I just made some verloren brood this morning, which is basically the same, but better.
Bread that's gone hard, soaked in egg yolks, baked in a frying pan with a dash of sugar It's amazing how good bread you'd normally toss away can be when you give it a twist like that. Really easy to prepare too, you should try it!
@rr: we should catch up about Amsterdam; part of my family is from there and I go there once in a while to visit my cousins
Just egg yolks? Or beaten eggs? I used to do this for my french toast although it wasn't old bread though and instead of sugar it was.... The Canadian replacement to it.... Maple syrup
Haha, Jesta you have a radio voice mate. And your wit would make me a listener too! Nice 4 minutes of pure Aussie awesomeness. Loving the Beck reference
I'm loving this, but unfortunately I don't have a microphone, or one of those in-built thingies.
By the way, I'd like to add a few names to the challenge. Most of the Belgium players have their names horribly mauled by English and definitely Spanish commentators. See what you make of these:
Thomas Vermaelen, Thibaut Courtois, Dries Mertens, Toby Alderweireld, Christian Benteke, Kevin De Bruyne.
And I'll throw in some Italians because it's always funny to hear English-speaking people pronounce Italian: Alessandro Del Piero, Claudio Marchisio, Gianluigi Buffon, Emanuele Giaccherini, Alotta Fagina
All star off by saying this is a wonderful thread thank you Reinarubin this is a very creative and fun thread. Here is mine...Please forgive some of the background noise there some construction going on outside it's madness....
Haha, thanks for adding those Dutch & Italian names. Pretty funny you pronounced Toby Alderweireld exactly the way it should be pronounced, but Jeroen, Courtois, De Bruyne and especially Dries Mertens are completely wrong, hehe.
Well, like I said I wish I could. But I have one of those asocial computers without a webcam or a microphone. I just use it for work, to watch footy and listen to music.
I'll find you a Belgian youtube clip with some of those names pronounced right
So strange to actually place a voice to you after knowing you for 2 years. Lol. Somehow, your voice suits you. Always in a rush and making typos and correcting them, even in speech. Hehe
Hehe, liked the sneaky Özil comment Good to hear your voice Farhad! It's fun to hear people's actual voices here. For some reason I didn't expect your English to be so fluent even though I know you're from Canada. Your pronunciation is very good too. You're doing the Barça faithful proud man
Nono, your English is perfect of course (you ARE Canadian after all), but I somehow never thought it would be. Just like I couldn't believe you're related to realfan, haha
Lol. I have no idea what levels my accents are at. I tend to soak in the accent of the place I am at. While with my ex, I had a hint of an Canadian accent mixed with my Indian one. Speaking to my flatmate back when I was in the UK, I used to have an Indian-Italian accent come through. Now, I don't know what sort of accent I have. Don't talk nearly as much as I type
I read that in Indian accent. I am mixed with 5 races but pretty much raised and live in Malaysia. And tbh I can talk in malaysian accent but its funny to hear(or you guys completely won't understand). Btw sounds like your job is pretty much mostly infront of the computer
Talking to people involves finding people. That means stepping out of the house. The sun deals 2d3 damage! I do spend most of my time in front of the comp. Nature of the job, 12-15 hours in front of it a day, considering I have most of my relaxation coming from either that or the PS3 as a gaming addict
