City fan in peace. Well done Napoli, you deserved your place. To be honest I think bayern, napoli and city deserved a place when you think about some of the teams that have qualified. You have some great strikers and great counter attacking football more exciting than most Italian teams. Good luck in the rest of the tournament.
Italian football is 100 times more exciting than people give it credit for.
I'd bet most people outside of Italy didn't even know who Napoli was before this upset.
Watch teams like Udinese.... Or Palermo.... Between the two of those alone, Pastore (45m euros), Inler, Sanchez(45m euros), Sirigu and others were traded.
Serie A is marketed poorly.... Mostly because it can not afford present - day big names.... Like EPL, Madrid and Barca. But it breeds ridiculous players (and unfortunately sells them)....
Regardless, they won the champions league in 2007 and 2010.... Which is 2/5 for.... Pretty fair distribution considering there's plenty of leagues competing for it.
Cheers mate.... Both games vs Man City were probably two of the most exciting games in this year's champions league so far.... Good luck in EPL and EL!
Agreed, you'd be hard pressed to watch a better match than Napoli vs City. I think Napoli drew the blueprint for how to beat City. Basically attack them constantly and don't let anyone have a second on the ball.
They're a pleasure to watch and if they come up against Real it could end up 10-9
This will probably take the words right out of the big mouths who were totally writing Napoli off well before the start of the champions league. I can recall many EPL fans dissing the Serie A and Napoli predicting a practise game score-lines in favour of City. Well lesson learned the hard way I guess!....
No matter how far Napoli goes in the champions league, I think they've done their club and fans proud! Well done Napoli.... E Forza! (On the bright side, looks like the EPL and EL both seem very gettable for City)
