Our Approach On Europa League.

How do we approach Europa league?

Do you want United get all serious in this competition? After all it's the only trophy SAF hasn't won during his reign.

Or Do you want United blood our youngsters or we say our Carling cup squad?

Its a difficult one to call, on the one side I see it as our only chance of getting something out of the season, but on the performances up to now even that's going to be hard to realize.
On the other side I believe that we have to go radical, tonight just confirmed what barca in the final and city at OT showed we just çant compete with the present squad, so what the hell sod the season concentrate on blooding the youth, rebuilding and make the priority qualifiying for the champions league, if along the way we pick up a cup then its a bonus.
For the rest get a new team up and playing for the 2012/13 season

I think with all the growing name of manchester united.... All these new deals with sponsors and companies in different countries, there has been a big growing hype.... "We are manchester united!" yes we are.... But we can't comeback every single time.... Things won't happen till our players get super hungry and give there heart and soul.... The spirit needs to come back and just to prove that point, that we are a force to reckon with, we must take this seriously. There is absolutely no reason to take any trophy lightly.... So we should field the best team, make players play with each other more consistently and just go for it. The way I look at things.... A trophy is better than no trophy.... A Europa League Cup is better than no champions league or no Europa League Cup

I think United could win this year. We probably will use some of or reserves for the Europa leauge games. We must look like serious contenders for this trophy. If we can't win the Champions league, we must win the Europa league. Its going to be tough but we can manage it. We should be the favorites to win the Europa league title and we should do it in some style. All we have to do is to have some confidence in ourselfs to say that we can do it

We could win this!

Give reserve players like amos, petrucci, pogba, will keane, micheal keane, zeki fryers and veseli a few games in europa league.... 2 to 3 fresh faces in a game with say rio, carrick, giggs, scholes, rooney, park won't hurt the team or the performance imo.... And we can easily advance to the latter stages

I say no we shouldn't be too serious and just field our B-Team for this competition to get the youth some European experience. This is the good time for it, if we want to win the league of course. We can give our starters a rest for these games and let them focus on the pl/fa Cup

For the "inexperienced youth".... They need to be loaned out. Otherwise, the players need to play to win!

No.... Not a complete be team !
A mixture of reserves and the regular starters.... Preferably the most experienced ones for the europa league !

Fergie's never won the Europa League, so why not? Plus, we'd have a chance to face the champions league winner (in other words Barca or Real Madrid) at the end so that would be pretty cool as long as the squad is up to it

Our match is in Feb, I think how serious we approach this competition depends on if we still in the FA cup
Redsince63 (Manchester United) 5 months ago
One of the important points is the draw of 32 is carried through in 2 pools so you know who your possible opponents are for the last 16 and roughly who you'll meet in the semis and final, also of course who you will avoid along the way to the final !

We should focus on EPL, let us use our youngsters in this second tier cup, I am sure every fan will forget all the humiliation if we got our 20th title

I would actually want to give a A-team after all.... It's the only trophy we haven't win and I wanna go serious on it!

Can't believe some people are saying United shouldn't bother about this.... Why not? It's nice to win this cup, we haven't won it before and if we're in it, why not try to win it?
Dgrant117 (Manchester United) 5 months ago
I took back what I said after reading around on the internet and doing some research.... By all means we need to take every competition seriously, to gain some experience with this new squad that we have. Also, we are Manchester United and we don't take title opportunities lightly!

It might be the only trophy we'll win this year so we might as well take it seriously

I don't think Sir Alex will put his best players in this, since we don't really need to win the europa, but if we do get a harder team than ajax, say FC Porto, I would say he would really need to think hard about his starting lineup, But I think he should give Macheda a couple more chances seeing he hasen't been given a real chance
