Zlatan Ibrahimovic
On3two (Manchester United) 2 years ago
Barcelona's new signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic seemed in good form against Sporting Gijon and even managed to open his scoring account. But simply put, is he still worth the $40 million price tag put on him?

Considering Real Madrid Paid 80 million pounds for CR7 Ibra was a bargain. Serie A Player of the year last year. He has already proved he's worth his weight in gold

Yeah he is good, but not good enough yet to fit inside the squad. Maybe we need to wait another few months for him to fit in the squad

He will score over 25 goals

Ibra is perfect for Barcalona. As He is more technical that Eto' will ever be. IMO he is worth it. I watched him all these game and there is no doubt. He can play 1 2 Passing, change the point of attack, set up player(they just didn't finish there opportunities) take free kicks and more of a threat on set pieces. The game yesterday the defence were swarming him on every set play . While Eto Is more of a goal scoring threat no doubt he lacks in the creative department which Ibra has abundantly.
Look at this video and you will see what I'm saying.

Ahhh.... Don't talk about opportunities thrown away. He does nothing from what I see to separate himself, but that's just me. I say he'll still need time but I don't see what the boasting is about.

I thought he played well in the first half and then faded out the game in the second. However he did score and I think its a bit early to judge him, give him time to settle into the teams style of play

No.... He's good, but not worth 40 mill! Especially being the start of the season, can't judge him too soon.... He'll fail again in the UCL I suspect.... They will regret the day they sold Samuel...

I think he did alright. He needed to score that goal to open his account and break that anxiety. He showed some good passes and touches. He also did well defensively when Sporting had some corner kicks, he headed some balls out. I think his height will help him in set pieces, which will add another dimension to Barca's offense. I haven't had a chance to see Eto'o in his game (only a few touches in the Milan v Inter match). Any impressions? Who is so far looking like the better deal? Just on first impressions, I know we have a long season ahead of us

In my opinion Ibrahmovic worth those 40 millions Euros, because he prooves during those past years in great clubs (Ajax, Juventus and Inter)that he actually is a good striker !
Despite it's not Zlatan's fault if Barcelona pays all that money for him, he's just a player, he can't control his own price.... Even he's got a very big head !
Now he's not the big star of the team like he was in (Inter)Milan.
Other there the whole team plays for him, he was the offensive leader of his team.
Now the star is the club, so he's a player like other, playing for the team and not for himself!
He needs time to adapt is game for the team, and not the contrary !
We will see if he's game take in maturity.... Think it will be the case !

We have to wait and see...

He may be worth 40 million Euros but he's not worth 40 million Euros and Samuel Eto'o who is worth equally that much. The only reason he would be cheaper is because his contract runs out in a year
Amayel (PSG) 2 years ago
I agree with you, but like I said Zlatan can't control is own price !
Samdagooner (Arsenal) 2 years ago
That's true and I hope Zlatan finally becomes known as one of the best strikers in the world even in BIG games because he is one talented specimen

Ibrahimovic will show his worth for Barcelona in my opinion. I believe he is the most talented striker in the world (doesn't mean the best) as he has the technical ability of Messi (close control, speed, positioning), passing range of (maybe not as good as) but almost Xavi like as well as the shot of Ronaldo all in one. He is also very acrobatic and control balls that no other player could control. The only thing that will hold him back is the desire to be the best.

I believe at Barcelona he will be motivated because he said Barcelona is his dream club and he won't want to slack off with world class players in every position for Barca. He is also a professional and therefore will want to win everything he can. At Barcelona he won't have to work as hard as Xavi, Iniesta, Messi and co. Will produce goals on a plate for him whereas at Inter he had to create his goals himself. He will be a great signing for Barcelona albeit not worth 40 million euros and Eto'o

If I have to judge him by the game against sporting then I would say that he isn't worth the money but that was just the first game. Even the best players need time to adapt to a new team and their style of play so it will take him time to get going. I think he will be worth it in the long run

From the top of his 1. 92 meter, Ibra is a technical striker, very efficacious in the air game, and able to create spaces to its partners through its power. He is doing a play for Barcelona in listed small players (Iniesta, Xavi, Messi)
Lfcalan (Liverpool) 2 years ago
I know he's a good player and all that I still don't get why Barca paid Inter + they let go of Eto'....
Ibrahimovic adds more power upfront for Barca, hopefully he will end the season as top scorer.
