Anybody watching all of the great match ups? I know I am! I'm very surprised that this hasn't really been brought up that much, or at all on footytube, considering the fact that Inter, Chelsea, and AC Milan are involved. How do you guys think the teams will fair? Will Sturridge continue to produce? What about Inter and AC Milan? But most importantly to me, how will this help American soccer?!

I watched the Sounders vs Chelsea game. Chelsea won 2-0, but the scoreline really didn't reflect how well Seattle played. The first goal never should have happened, while the 2nd, Seattle was just caught with to many men forward
VanPersie (Arsenal) 2 years ago
That game just reflected how seattle have been playing lately brilliant and attacking football. That game was very exciting and was played with a very attacking style

How does anyone think America will fair against Inter, as we all know Guillermo Ochoa is a superb goalkeeper
Santillanavila 2 years ago
Ochoa is playing with Mexico at the Gold Cup against Haiti at the same time America plays Inter. Just finished watching the game and America won in p-kicks. No one knew that there was going to be penalty kicks and the fans started coming to the pitch after the 90 mins. What a poorly organized tournament
Darius (Aston Villa) 2 years ago
Yeah, it was pretty poor organization but at the same time it added to the "excitement" of the whole game. It also showed how strong of a following a team could have in another country, as you could clearly tell that majority of the fans were America fans
TFoAV (Whitecaps) 2 years ago
Well, the game was in California, which has a pretty big Hispanic population, especially Mexican. Club America's arguably the most popular team in Mexico and it's still very easy to watch Mexican football in the US so it only made sense that the crowd was pro-America, compared to Inter (I think some fans got Inter confused with AC Milan because I saw more than a few fans wearing the red-and-black instead of the blue-and-black. They had to be mad, lol.)
TFoAV (Whitecaps) 2 years ago
America's gonna' have the partisan crowd support in almost every game they play. A lot of people here in Atlanta wanna see America play, and of course they're going to have big support in Dallas. They might as well call this the Club America tour.
Darius (Aston Villa) 2 years ago
Lol Yeah there is a big, giant, humongous Hispanic following here in America. Sadly though, a lot of Hispanics I know here in St. Louis prefer Guadalajara over America lol but I like America better anyways

I'll be at the Chelsea vs. Inter game in Pasadena!

What was with the ref signaling to retake the penalty? That was a big save! He must have been off of the goal line or something because that was crucial. And what in the world was José Mourinho doing out on the field?!
Santillanavila 2 years ago
He wanted to take a penalty. Seriously
Darius (Aston Villa) 2 years ago
Yeah that's what JP Dellacamera said during the match, but I didn't know whether he was joking around or Jose really wanted to take a penalty! That would have been great if he did! I would have laughed my butt off.
Elucari (Liverpool) 2 years ago
These games are cool an all, but they really don't make a difference except for promoting soccer in the states more
Santillanavila 2 years ago
And testing out the squads, who plays better with whom etc
Yamsy (Liverpool) 2 years ago
1-1 at the end of the game....
And, oh look! Ibra didn't score! What a surprise there!....
(if you couldn't get that sarcasm, your not human....)
StrikersMT28 (Seattle Sounders) 2 years ago
He scored a pk fool! Although, that's all Anderson ever did, so I'm still not impressed
EmYouEffSee (Manchester United) 2 years ago
Seeing as how bad mexico beat haiti, ochoa probably wished he wouldve stayed playing for america. He wouldve had a better time...
Darius (Aston Villa) 2 years ago
This comment should probably belong in the "09/10 Jerseys" thread, but it's so dense (250 posts) that I don't think it would get any discussion around it, but it still pertains to Chelsea. Anyways, everyone was running all over Chelsea's third kit about how horrific and rubbish it was. In my opinion, they looked fairly nice on the Chelsea players last night. This was the best picture I could find.

VanPersie (Arsenal) 2 years ago
Lol the best picture he's half on the ground. Yes I agree I love the kit it looks quite flash. In my opinion Chelsea fc have had history of wearing the ugliest strip ever sorry for getting a touch of topic. .
Darius (Aston Villa) 2 years ago
Lol It's cool I knew this would kind of go off the grain a little bit. But to get back on the right track, I must say that Chelsea has been the best looking, strongest, and most consistent club throughout the World Football Challenge. For the exception of America, who has had the majority of the crowds in their first couple of games, since both games were played in Palo Alto and Atlanta, two regions with a quality percentage of Hispanics
JohnnyG (Manchester United) 2 years ago
They don't look too bad imo.

VanPersie (Arsenal) 2 years ago
They look good in it I think it's a good kit to have
Kimaway17 (Liverpool) 2 years ago
Its a ok kit. Chelsea have been playing very good in the world challenge. Well I don't think this will help american footy. There was something like this not to long ago and it was Chelsea Milan and DC United and it did nothin 4 American footy. And there has also been all star games and that has done nothing for american footy
