Ermm.... In my oppinion, to be frank.... I'm not quite sure 'cause rafa is just depending to much on Torres and Gerrard.... Don't your guys think the same? Share your oppinion....
Just so you know buddy, I moved your thread to the terrace. Try to post there first and usually they get moved up to the stands depending on the level of the discussion and etc. You can also always search the forums before you post to see if someone else already have started that topic
Never really was impressed with Rafa, haven't seen anything in him to suggest that he'll bring liverpool another title, but they got close enough last year that it easily could have gone their way so who knows.
Maybe you guys should hire Redknapp, if he can do that with Tottenham, then who knows,
Some of his ways maybe questionable, by I still have faith in him.... At least for another 2-3 years.... He knows his relationships and ways around Liverpool already, so it will be hard to replace him.... Plus, a UCL trophy in 2005 wasn't a bad gift at all.... He's not the best at buying players though and insists on playing Lucas, these are his inequalities....
I think Rafa so very nearly had the title last season that it would be wrong to deny him the chance to keep going. He's won good silverware in the last few years, and its not like Liverpool are fighting relegation battles. Of course, what every Liverpool player and fan dreams of is the premiership. It's like a juicy carrot hanging in front of all of us, especially when United have eaten so many carrots they are sick of them!
Five years is not a huge amount of time to be managing a club. I know in the current environment you're lucky to get six months at a club like Chelsea, but real longterm rewards come with trusting a manager - like Ferguson, like Wenger.
Just for reference, lets look to Wikipedia to see how Sir Alex Ferguson was getting on after a couple of years at Old Trafford.
"For the 1989-90 season.... A banner declaring "Three years of excuses and it's still crap. Ta ra Fergie." was displayed at Old Trafford, and many journalists and supporters called for Ferguson to be sacked. Ferguson later described December 1989 as "the darkest period [he had] ever suffered in the game."
I'm not trying to take the mick out of Ferguson or United here - their success is staggering - but just pointing out what could have been if the fans and media had their way and Ferguson was sacked back in 1990.
Personally speaking, I'm delighted beyond belief with the champions league and cups that Rafa has won. He's on the right track making signings like Aquilani and Johnson. With Agger, Aurelio and Aquilani all due back the team will be all the stronger.
