Well after today's Carling Cup final (which United beat Villa 2-1) we saw the new Berba. No more lazy, no more tired, no more inconsistent slagging brat that Alex Ferguson made a mistake to sign. Richard Dunne made a mistake and this man capitalized, sprinted down the wing, half set up Owen but that doesn't matter because he scored. Do you think we are going to see a new Berba?
I highly doubt that this will be a new Berbatov. Every great player has a day or even months, such as Wayne Rooney playing wide last season, where they play a bit differently. But in the end, they have a specific playing type which can't just be shut off indefinitely. Needless to say it was nice to see him working for the ball, but I think he'll be back to normal, if not the next game, eventually
Theres times dimitar berbatov infuriates me as well guys with his lacklustre movement, but his strength, and ball control are second to none, and if he could add a little more passion in his running off the ball, he could be a wonder player. Don't forget, eric cantona was'nt exactly a greyhound on the pitch, so I think berbatov has a big role to play at utd, and I look forward to more displays like todays
As if recently if you notice, it been berba to valencia, valencia to rooney, rooney scores. He has been playing great link up play which is awesome. His only problem is speed
Berbatov sprinted!? Yea, because he had all that energy saved up from standing aound and sitting on the bench. My biggest problem with berbatit is that he slows everything down. I think his play has a negative impact on the whole united attack, which is characteristically fast. He has a good game once in a while, but I still don't like him. His cheeky flicks don't often work out, and when they don't I feel embarassed for the guy. He isn't getting any younger, or better. I can say with some degree of certainty that he won't be resigned to a long term contract, if at all
I was surprised really. I mean in my opinion he's always a great player, but his abilities really really shine with the aggression he finally showed yesterday. He created Owen's goal by sprinting and surprising a defender from behind. More of a Rooney type move really. Not just that though the whole game he impressed me with his running
Wasnt just today, i've seen this in his last 2-3 games. He is more willing to chase after the ball and it is working for him, he keeps getting the ball back. Maybe the lack of game time Sir Alex has given him has made him a bit fearful for his position at old trafford and he wonts to work to get back into a first team regular
