I know you probably do not care a jot but it's the end of a saga that has lasted nearly 100 days. That's 100 days of checking the local rag online every five minutes, and they milked it I've read some many non stories if I ever have trouble sleeping I'll recount one in my mind, that should do the trick.
Yes 100 days ago my beloved Saints first announced that it was going into administration just before being relegated from the Championship (why do we do it!), since then we have had numerous parties declaring interest, at one point even 70's rocker Rod Stewart was reported to be behind a bid!
We have had two deadlines for liquidation, a winding up of the club altogether, and numerous false dawns. One consortium even paid £500, 000 for a period of exclusivity only to pull out at the last moment through very unclear reasons. Players out of contract have been snapped up by other clubs and we have had to sell Andrew Surman to Wolves to avoid one of those liquidation deadlines.
That is all now in the past we have a new owner, one Mr Markus Liebherr estimated to have a personal fortune to the tune of 3 billion euros who will forever more (well for at least two seasons) be a revered as a true saviour of the south coasts finest (sorry pompey you know its true).
We start on minus ten points due to the "kick em' whilst they are down" league rules but compared to the oblivion we faced it's all good.
