The Qatar football association has announced they have started work on a massive, electrically fueled apparatus that can control the weather for the 2022 World Cup. Scientists from around the world have been brought in to address the problem and construct a cooling system for the entire country. Considering Qatar is only about 4 thousand square miles it seems doable. The desert will be unbearable in the summer, and instead of making massive super stadiums that could hold people comfortably inside, the Qatar hierarchy saw the WC as the perfect opportunity to help all their people. The machine which is in it's beginning stages of development would bring down the temperature a reported and rather substantial number of 7 degrees Celsius as well as increase the rain fall in this arid climate.
In the time of scientific development and progress, this has been seen as a possible solution to global warming. Weather controllers and devices have been a topic of science fiction for centuries, it looks as if it may finally becoming true. Leave it to football to start a scientific revolution. The idea has it skeptics, that the energy used will be more of a problem than the heat and that logistically it's not possible on such a scale. But hey when your richer than you know what to do with, why not try and play God for a football tournament
