I think Ferdinand was never the best defender in the world. Maldini and Cannavaro were fighting for that right for quite a while.... And with both of them retired (Cannavaro is retired from competitive football) it became Vidic and possibly Pique

EPL players are overworked more than overrated.

Ferdinand is yet to come to his best form after the injuries, but I wouldn't place Vidic above an in-form pre-injury Ferdinand. As for who is the best defender in the world you better start another thread, because there will never be a consensus

I agree.... Baloteli isn't overrated though.... He overrates himself!

He's not that bad he has played sone good games but I do agree that he thinks he's better than he actually is. But then again he is only 19 so there is plenty of time to improve

Yeah, I'm by no means a spurs fan, but I disagree. Bale has proven he's up there with world class players like Pedro, Özil, Malouda, David Silva, Rooney, Nani.... And to be honest I rate him higher than Nani, Silva, Malouda and even Rooney. I'd say he's already playing at a level that would classify him as one of the 10 best players in the whole EPL

I will half agree. Overrated a little bit. Bale is a world class winger because of his speed and crossing abilities. Great winger but haven't seen much other than that. I only mention this because he started out as a LB which he was pretty poor at defending

You gotta' give him time, he is just a young kid. Just past 20 I think. In 5 years time, I think he will be one of the fastest winger in the world and best winger in the premiership and Arsenal.

His distribution is not really great, but he do give defenders threats when he run passes them and force them to tackle and resulted in some free kicks and caused some goals

You can't say that, the fact is he does dive but of course he doesn't dive more than Ronaldo. Ronaldo is the diving king. Btw, Rooney is not overrated, he has prove himself so far, how his goals is important to Manchester United, eg. Opening goals against Birmingham, Wigan and Man City. That changes the whole complexion of the game you see

Nani still gets time and wastes it over and over again. Bentley doesn't anymore though so he may not be overrated now but he sure was before

Anderson is great, but I don't think they've found the exact position and role for him yet at Man Utd. So on that note I guess you could say that he's overrated on his production as a player but not his talent.
