Mesut Ozil: Next Big Thing??
SoundersFC23 (Seattle Sounders) 2 years ago
Of all the hottest young football prospects Mesut Ozil seems to be the one that will definately live up to all the expectations. He is an attacking midfielder that plays for Werder Bremen and that has great skill on the ball and and has vision that has deemed him the next fabregas. He has gained interest from clubs all around the world like Arsenal and Manchester City. Who ever it is that he may play for in the future he is expected to play a big part in Germanys world cup plans.

Do you think that Ozil will indeed be the "Next big thing"? If so who do you see him playing for in the future and how do you think he will do in the 2010 World Cup

He's skillful and willing to take shots at goal. He's certainly going to be the next big thing. At least for German football.

I agree with you.... He's the next great player for germany.... And thanks for putting up the vid

He is a sick player, passing and dribbling is terrific while his long range shooting needs a tad bit of work but is still great as well

Personally, I felt he could build up some muscle because I feel he is quite frail for his size...

I think you should put a video of him at his best for us to see what he's got. To be honest I don't really follow german football. But to get the title of the next fabregas is a big tag so he must be a great player. I will be sure to check out werder bremen next games to see him play

Maybe. But the thing he should stay at Bremen. Then when he's mature he should leave. Diego was the nxt big thing b4 this season. And now he's a flop

That's a good point but to me it doesn't seem like Ozil will flop.... Tooo much young talent

You never know. Didn't look like Walcott or Diego will Flop. And they both did

Diego didn't go to the right country to develop his play. Look at Gourcuff, he was at Milan where Ancelotti killed his talent. Go to the right country to develop and I presume they'll turn out fine. Countries like England and Italy are notoriously harder to adapt due to the fact that their footballing cultures are very different from others. England's EPL favours non stop football, where the ball can be pump from backline to attack in matter of seconds(some might want to call it Long pass) and the physical side of it can be daunting. Italy's culture of insistence on tactically nullifying opponents is harder to play when you are a more creative footballer. Because of the emphasis on defending your area, tactical fouls or marking certain players, creative players (even though they are normally the darlings of italian football) will find it hard to play to their own tune.

I think Diego is the person we should be thanking for ozils success. Diego started off the fluid football. He has grown from that young player to a future bremen captain, if he stays. I really believe he can be the next big thing. He done amazing in the under 21 championship winning it with germany.

He is now in the senior squad and has a real chance to be the next big thing. I was worried when diego left how he will cope with only marin and possibley pizzaro the only few amazing talents that could go forward.

I wish him all the best, he is ayoung and yes is one of the best under 22's in the world
