Manchester City Summer Transfers
SoundersFC23 (Seattle Sounders) 2 years ago
Rumor has it that Man city is going to try and get Samuel Eto'o. Its believed that they are ready to make a large bid for him.

Also Man City just signed Stephen Ireland to a new contract. Ireland saying "Im staying for life", "I'm settled here. I love the club, I love the fans and I don't see what's going to make me leave this club. "

Another rumor is that if the eastlands club does not get the cameroon hitman then they are ready to make a big bid for Carlos tevez.

Any thoughts on all this?
Yombe10 (Arsenal) 2 years ago
The bid on Tevez is definitely more practical than that on Eto'o for a couple reasons. Of course, we all know of the rumors and speculation surrounding Tevez and whether or not he'll be offered an extension on his loan. United don't feel the need to dish out a whopping 25 million pounds for him. Along with Man City and other clubs watching the Tevez transfer saga unfold, the Man Utd chief executive David Gill said in an interview that his (Tevez) departure is "inevitable".

Now the bid on Eto'o is completely ridiculous. All it shows is how the Man City owners think dishing out substantial cash will get anyone they want. Eto'o just won the treble with Barcelona and is playing some of the best football at the club, so why would he want to leave? In repeated articles and interviews, he's stated that he's happy at the club. The only reason they're so keen on getting him now is because they saw him in the Champions League final. This is ludicrous decision making.

For Man City to have a quality team they need to find a system that works and fit the players to it. Not the other way around. Look at what happened to Robinho, since he's come to club. Seriously, I don't dislike Man City but I dislike how they're throwing money around like water, rather than working within slowly. Great success doesn't happen overnight

Kudos

Good point. Eto'o loves barca but you never know. The right amount of money can make anyone change their mind. One thing I know is that this is gona be great to see unfold
Pocketg99 (Arsenal) 2 years ago
Eto'o might go, though, Barca want to see him go, no clue why
Giorgakis (Olympiakos Piraeus) 2 years ago
Ibrahimovic to man city along with ronaldinho
SoundersFC23 (Seattle Sounders) 2 years ago
? I don't know about that lol
Ellada10 (Olympiakos Piraeus) 2 years ago
That's never gonna' happen your just stating what you would like to see happen, but is never going to come true in reality
Yamsy (Liverpool) 2 years ago
B4 they get their players, I think they should get rid of their manager first.... Get someone that thinks football-wise not money-wise.... They have great individuals, but that's all, "individuals".... Not a "team".... there is no "I" in "teamwork"...
Andy (Rangers) 2 years ago
It is insanely difficult getting world class players to join a club where Champions League football isn't virtually guaranteed, let alone European football. I think Man City will only manage to get semi-starlets, unfulfilling prospects and golden oldies by the end of summer.
VanPersie (Arsenal) 2 years ago
True but do they think about that when they are getting paid twice as well then any where else?
RonanKnows (Arsenal) 2 years ago
They'll get some stars but not all of them!
Pocketg99 (Arsenal) 2 years ago
Well as we see always works. Give 'em a huge salary
Ragarsha (Liverpool) 2 years ago
Barry is to eastlands, one star has arrived
ManUK (Manchester United) 2 years ago
Now they say on to Tevez
Darius (Aston Villa) 2 years ago
They need another midfielder alongside Kompany
ManUK (Manchester United) 2 years ago
A better one!
Nitro (Barcelona) 2 years ago
Is Barry a star?
ManUK (Manchester United) 2 years ago
Kinda, compared to there other mids!
Darius (Aston Villa) 2 years ago
Yes, Barry is a star. He just got called up to the National Team!
Nitro (Barcelona) 2 years ago
Ok so if your called up to a national team that makes you a star?
Darius (Aston Villa) 2 years ago
Lol no I'm just saying that people will consider him as star "status" if he's playing for the national team, which happens to be one of the best in the world, that's all I'm saying.
Nitro (Barcelona) 2 years ago
Oh ok cool I see what your saying
Darius (Aston Villa) 2 years ago
Lol thanks. Let's just hope he plays like a star lol
Yombe10 (Arsenal) 2 years ago
See, Barry is the kind of player I can see as a reasonable acquisition. He's good but he's not god like let's say Kaka. If Manchester City get a couple other professionals like Barry, underrated but still top players, then they can actually develop a team that will seriously contest for Europa League, and maybe even a top four finish
Darius (Aston Villa) 2 years ago
Teams similar to Fulham and Everton, are those the teams you are referring to? If so, great examples lol
Ragarsha (Liverpool) 2 years ago
Not all players can be like Kaka, messi, ronnie, gerrard he was faithfull to villa but at 28 may be 5 yrs left in the career he needs to earn money he is just under rated
SergioRamos (Liverpool) 2 years ago
Barry will sit amazingly with ireland. They will be back in the ueropa league next season!
SoundersFC23 (Seattle Sounders) 2 years ago
You mean champions league right? Hahaha
Agspiratos (Panathinaikos Athens) 2 years ago
Pato should go there
Darius (Aston Villa) 2 years ago
I don't think he'll work well with man city. It hurts to say it, but he'll be better off at chelsea. I'd love to see him alongside anelka
Ragarsha (Liverpool) 2 years ago
That's right but only thing is that at chelsea he ill get less chance
Darius (Aston Villa) 2 years ago
How about pato going to liverpool then?
Ragarsha (Liverpool) 2 years ago
Well may be he will be used as a centre forward because torres is at his best when he is all alone
Adamaus (Manchester United) 2 years ago
No pato's awesome don't send him off to man city theyll ruin him!
Gavrazor (Manchester City) 2 years ago
I've spent a long time looking into my crystal ball and I can clearly see who we will end up with at the end of the summer:

We already have Barry, but in the coming weeks we will sign Roque Santa Cruz, Tevez, Lescot and Toure
Ellada10 (Olympiakos Piraeus) 2 years ago
Lol your mystic powers can be right....
Adamaus (Manchester United) 2 years ago
Except toure I would agree with that. Don't think you guys would go for toure. Just don't think he would suit the club
Tom (Manchester United) 2 years ago
It looks like arjen robben is bound for manchester city as they are preparing a bid for him
Gavrazor (Manchester City) 2 years ago
Ooooh yeh, one of my fav players besides tevez! Man I hope you are right ima have a heart attack if he does come to city! Ffs!
Tom (Manchester United) 2 years ago
City have agreed a fee of £18million with Blackburn to sign Roque Santa Cruz. Personal terms are still to be sorted out before deal is finalised
StrikersMT28 (Seattle Sounders) 2 years ago
Why would they need another attacker.... I hate them for this reason
Tom (Manchester United) 2 years ago
Rumours of City to sign Tevez and Eto'o in the next few days
SoundersFC23 (Seattle Sounders) 2 years ago
Yep saw that too. Eto'o will be making 180, 000 a week
Darius (Aston Villa) 2 years ago
There's actually some validity to Eto'o going to Man City. This subject made it all the way to American television! ESPN said that Barcelona president "Joan Laporta claims that Manchester City have made a 'stratospheric' offer to sign Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o. Laporta claimed that if he accepts, the deal will make him the best paid player in the world. "
Santillanavila 2 years ago
So the deal is not really done but do you guys think eto wants to stay at Barcelona or go to the eastlands instead? I would go to man city for the money and a new challenge. Also to see what England is like instead of having your whole football career in one league
Kingsickhead (Chelsea) 2 years ago
Yea your right the other team are getting scared arent you
Adamaus (Manchester United) 2 years ago
^ na I agree, if I was eto I would go to City I mean there going to offer him like 5 year contract! That's 5 more years at the top lvl with a growing club, why would you say no!
Tom (Manchester United) 2 years ago
Rumours have it that City's attempt at signing Eto'o has failed as he wants to wait unitl his contract expires next summer to move
Kingsickhead (Chelsea) 2 years ago
Ooh okay cool
Gavrazor (Manchester City) 2 years ago
Signs that he will move, 90% of players say these sort of things b4 they move
Kingsickhead (Chelsea) 2 years ago
I wnat him to go
Ragarsha (Liverpool) 2 years ago
Barca are no fools to let a world class player on a free transfer
Adamaus (Manchester United) 2 years ago
Yea, barca will want the money, I'm sure he will go if barca accept the bid. They will give him the "this is better for the club" speech and he will feel kinda guilty, kinda loyal and decide to leave
TheCR9 (Liverpool) 2 years ago
After hearing the sentence he will start to cry and quit football
Yamsy (Liverpool) 2 years ago
Barca has accepted the bid, both clubs have sort out the terms, the only thing wrong is, Eto'o doesn't want to go.... Juan Laporta will persuade him to go, as he wants the 25mill....
