I have to have a debate with you guys ! Don't get me wrong but I don't rate alonso and masherano that highly ! There are too many good player in the world for you players to stress on those two! Masherano wants to go to barca and alonso want to go to real! And I think you should let them! Listen if a player wants to go to a diffrent club let them go if the money is right ! I never think you should want to keep a player at a club that wants to go to another club it affect the team morale and the way the way the player perform for there club! Try to make a deal since they are the aggressors(real and barca) try to get eto straight swap or yaya toure and hleb! And alonso you could take huuntellar robben snielder all excellent players ! Make a move never let a player feel like there irreplaceble or bigger than the club! That the one thing I respect about fergie he let beckhan go they didn't suffer and he let ronaldo go and I think you guys should do the same!

Its up to rafa, but to my opinion every player doesn't play always well he has ups and downs that's life and it goes on till now none of the players expressed their strong desire for the switch, as far as kingsickhead pointed we have just attacking players for grabs no defensive midfielders, but as far as ronaldo's matter he was held for one year and he was their best player. Now what is chelsea doing about the terry matter the owner got involved in the transfer(no offense)

Rafa needs to do everything in his power to keep xabi alonso.... It seems that alonso is dead set on wanting to make the move to Real Madrid now. Rafa is going to need a replacement. The squad isn't deep enough to have an immediate one (Lucas sucks)

I agree with Ballin'. They don't have a replacement that can live up to Alonso and Mascherano, so Liverpool are going to do everything in their power to keep those two. Besides, holding onto a player doesn't make them bigger than the club. If Liverpool were to be on the down swing (which they obviously aren't) I would say let them go, get what you can out of them, and start the rebuild. Only way I would let them go

Yes Rafa should really try to kep Alonso he's great, He's who I would keep, But Mascherano is who I would let go he's still great but not as good as Xabi Alonso.

Rafa Should let them go if they want to go and I haven't seen any of them has I say put in a transfer request if you want to leave. I haven't heard news of any of them doing that yet.

Rafa will have to find a good replacement, They'll have a gaping hole in their Midfield if both leave and they're really good center mids so they need at least one good replacement. Yea Lucas sucks. Maybe Diarra If Xabi Moves but no he kinda sucks to, there aren't many good available center mids out there if any, so Rafa should keep at least one of their center mids.

No Mascherano is stayin in Liverpool. He wants to stay there. HE was on the verge of leaving but he decided to stay. ALonso is goin bcuz it looks like Rafa doesn't want him.
And they are 2 awesome players. Mascherano work rate is amazing. He gos for every ball that's loose. Alonso passin is incredible. Ge has a good passin accuracy. He is the master of 50-60 yrds ball (ok after Scholes.) And They are the back bone of Liverpools many cleen sheets

Anyone who says that Alonso and Mascherano could leave and Liverpool would be fine doesn't understand Liverpool's squad at all. They are two of the most important players in Rafa's current system, and there is no one in the squad who can replace them. Lucas is the backup player, but anyone who's seen him play knows that he's not even close to their quality. Liverpool have many world-class players in their best XI, but there are decent substitutes for most of them. Even the absence of Gerrard isn't the end of the world--Benayoun does a more than decent job of replacing him. Ok lets start with one thing xabi alonso has never SAID he wants to leave liverpool, although he probably wants to. There have been a lot of reports where it is speculated that he wants to leave and he has phoned rafa to ask for a tranfer but its all been reports nothing concrete. The last time alonso actually said anyhting publicaly was after the confed cup, he said he would be happy with real madrid but if he stays he will still be happy at liverpool(I don't have the direct quote but that's close to what he said). I think the only reason he wants to leave is beacuse rafa tried to sell him last summer. You mentioned that we could swap sneijder, robben, huntelaar for him but would you like to tell me how huntelaar or robben are going to play as defensive midfielders. Sneijder could work but I don't rate him as good as alonso and apparently rafa dosent want him either. I would let xabi go if we get the right price so that we can find a adequate replacement, I don't know who the replacement would be.

Its the same for mascherano, who would replace him? You say yaya toure but he will missing some playing time bacuse of the african nations cup, this is the reason why barca want mascherano in the first. I don't think Rafa is stopping them , Impact neither of them expressed their intentions to leave.
