Who is the better drummer? This is such a hard question for me to answer and I have listened extensively to both their catalogues trying to decide. Bonham is a master of time, Moon sounds like a f*****g freight train. They both fit in with their bands perfectly, Bonham keeping a ruthless, breakbeat rhythm to the masterful blues compositions of Jimmy Page. And Moon is the absolute perfect fit for the straight ahead, hard rock, guitar driven sound of the Who. Moon's drumming was the missing link in the Who's sound and made it complete, maybe almost as important as Pete Townsend's power guitar techniques.
People don't realize the impact John Bonham's drumming has had on modern music, especially hip hop music. Led Zeppelin was taken in by a wide scope of people as it is a legendary band and has had some effect on the growth of hip hop, with the drumming and turntabilism that would develop. Probably greater than one would think. And his drumming is of masterful skill, which possesses an almost mystical power. The driving force of the musical juggernaut Led Zeppelin.
I would have to say in the end, John Bonham, but Moon is a legend.
Haha. I absolutely love music. I'm more of a hip-hop man myself though. Which is most likely why I would say John Bonham. If your looking for a great discussion start one about hip-hop
Haha ya I love music too, I've been getting really into hip hop and Beethoven recently, an interesting combination haha. British people can relate well to this post though haha, Zeppelin and The Who are straight from England haha. And it's a great question they are both great drummers. I am sure people will post eventually, and if they don't whatever it's chill haha .
You should start a hip hop thread of your own dude haha
Dude start a thread on it, or actually this works perfect too. Dude I f*****g love Atmoshpere, Slug just played a great show at our local theater in Flag it's called the Orpheum. Such a sick show, Slug killed it and there were so many people it was awesome. I snuck in too, got in for free two days before my birthday haha, it was a pretty awesome gift haha . The woman with the tattooed hands is one of my favorite songs I have been listening to it a lot after the show, even though he didn't play it haha.
Living Legends, Swollen Members, Jurrasic 5 that's what I have been rocking recently. Cunninlynguists, Last Emperor, there are so many good hip hop groups, old school is the best too
My personal favorite by Atmosphere is Always Coming Back Home To You. Mostly because I'm from Minnesota and he's rapping about the state and places I grew up in too. Although The Woman With the Tattooed Hands is dope for sure.
Ah CunninLynguists are sick. I bought their CD Dirty Acres a year or so ago. Its one of the best nighttime CDs to put on in my opinion.
If you love slug I highly recommend most everyone else on his label. POS, Brother Ali, Doomtree.... Etc. I saw The Reminders here in Boulder about a month ago. They are sick, pretty much truth speakers.
Also Aesop Rock is nasty as well and check out Sage Francis
Yep all those guys are sick, POS opened for Atmosphere he was alright, Brother Ali is dope, I like all those guys too. Are you an Immortal Technique fan, I have seen him like three times, he puts on a pretty bad ass show.
Aesop and Sage are tight, there old school stuff is better as is with most artists.
That song is pretty chill, I hadn't heard it till a few weeks ago, old school is where it's at, Eric be. And Rakim are the s**t. Pete Rock and [C.] L. Smooth are awesome, and. W. A. Tribe Called Quest it is all way sick music

Ya dude it sucks so bad, I guess you were trying to say Day La Soul haha, a lot of mine got edited too. The mainstream sucks, I never liked 50 cent or T. I. Or any of that stuff that much, I like a few Little Wayne songs but not really diggin it. They'll always be real hip hop artists as well though
Check out KRS-One dude he's a legend, Boogie Down Productions haha. They are really old school, late 80s original hip hop it's awesome
That atmosphere video was pretty incredible, that song was awesome at the concert I went to everybody knew the words haha. Slug is bad ass, Brother Ali is putting out a new album soon I think too
I am pretty sure he just put out an LP, the full length comes out in August or something. I want to get that atmosphere song on my ipod it's an awesome version haha
I listen to too much music , as far as Zeppelin v the Who goes, bonzo is king.
Heres a list of music I like from my profile, some of the music I like and i'd be happy to talk about any music
Sigur Ros, The Stone Roses, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel, Cream, Eric Clapton, Radiohead, The Beatles, The Bee Gees, Bob Marley, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Desmond Dekker, Ian Dury, Elvis Costello, Donovan, Van Morrison, Toots & The Maytals, Pink Floyd, Manic Street Preachers, Jimmy Cliff, The La's, David Bowie, Derek & The Dominoes
About 3-4 years ago, I loved Metal (trying to blank it out) so I managed to see Motorhead, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Dragonforce x2 and Metallica.
I saw Paul Weller 2 years ago and last June I saw Eric Clapton and then a week later I saw Neil Young.
Oh and, I'm seeing Bobby Dylan in a couple of weeks It's pretty cool, if artists don't come to Northern Ireland then I can take the trip down to Dublin!
I'm a fan of Sigur Ros and Bobby D. I feel like Bob Marley should be on the list of everyone's favorite artists list haha. You should check out Bon Iver I think you may like him
Awesome Moonpig finally someone besides me in futbol22 commented on this. Your list of artists is pretty awesome, and bonzo is king, though Moon is fantastic, especially live. There are some bands in there I have never heard of I'll look em up I Listen to too much music as well man and I love it haha.
The only crucial bands on there I didn't see are Sublime and the Experience or Band of Gypsies, Hendrix Bradley Nowell has one of my favorite voices alongside probably Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, Joplin and Jim Morrison.
I used to be really into Slayer and I try to blank that out too haha.
I would love to see Bob Dylan, I just saw Willie Nelson play the other day, that was pretty bad ass. I didn't actually see him, I watched from the forest but I could hear it and see him at times, it was rad haha. There's a pretty good scene here in Flagstaff, I just saw Atmosphere for free
Does anybody know how to move this to off topic banter?
