Is Ben Foster Ready?
Andy (Rangers) 4 years ago
Disproportionate reaction to a poor performance any keeper could easily have had. Drogba rattled him early on and it shook his confidence for the rest of the game, inexperience maybe but no reason to sell him on or even loan him out :/

He had a number of great games last season for United including a man of the match performance in the Carling Cup final

Then lets hope he can continue his form from last year...

Finally, someone is being logical. Everyone wants to throw him to the wolves because he had a bad outing. It was the first game of the season people! Don’t base your opinions on how good a player is in his first competitive match in months. Once he is at his best, he will show you why Fergie has confidence in him

Well, maybe Foster and Kusczak won't get anohter chance, because rumours say that SAF has targetted Schalke's Neuer as their next potential move....

I do think Foster has excellent abilities, but he lacks the focus during games.

Just drifting abit, I do think Joe Hart is a great prospect.

Yea I do too
Yamsy (Liverpool) 4 years ago
Me too, I think Joe is a better prospect of a England GK...

I'm much more impressed with Fosters footwork and overall performance today. My heart still comes up into my throat when they pass or head the ball back to him though
Yamsy (Liverpool) 4 years ago
Yea, he collected the balls quite well from crosses...

An encouraging performance with a clean sheet against Birmingham.

A run of games in the 1st team will only benefit Foster.

Yup I agree with that....
He need more games under his belt....
Considering he is still inexperienced goalkeepers(lack games)
I think he will grow up and what he need also a little confidence to
Dictate the game play through his footworks.... Haha....

Foster had a really good game today against Birmingham city.... He was really comfortable when catching the crosses and clearing the ball compared to last time. Plus he had a really good save that saved ManUtd's ass
Yamsy (Liverpool) 4 years ago
Joe Hart on the other hand, wasn't as good in the game...
JohnnyG (Manchester United) 4 years ago
Anyone else notice Foster doesn't throw the ball like most keepers? He sports the underhand toss no matter how far the target
Yamsy (Liverpool) 4 years ago
Didn't notice that...
JohnnyG (Manchester United) 4 years ago
Haha I tend to notice things like that since I'm a goalie myself
Yogan (Chelsea) 4 years ago
I think Van Der Sar is alot better. He is, I'm sure everyone will agree. But Ben Foster just isn't set and ready to take a number one spot for any team yet. He needs alot more practice. I don't think he's a very good goalkeeper anyway considering how many people have him in their dreamfooty team. Has Tomas Kusczak left? (can't spell his name by the way) He's better than Foster, no doubt, I dunno where he went. Answer would be appreciated and this is a great post. I think the same as ManUk because because he has not dealt with the pressure of being a top team's goalkeeper. He needs to get his performance up. I think a loan out to a Championship side like Peterborogh would do him good. More practice is what he needs. Oh, and also, I don't know what happened to VDS. Anyone?
Dhanasil (Manchester United) 4 years ago
He is a good keeper, he is still young and he needs to prove himself I don't any GoalKeeper without doing mistakes its natural but he has to stop doing them
