Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Name a player who has a goal scoring ratio of over. 75 for their country.

Who has the most clean sheets in international footballing histroy?
Pragathish (AC Milan) 3 years ago
Ronaldo(not the hairgel abuser)    By "who" you mean country or player? (sorry I had to ask!)
GreatScot (Rangers)(Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
I'll go for Kluivert of Holland and i'll guess at Pagliuca former Italy International(and one of my all time favourite keepers!)
TheBarcaShow (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Puskas?
Kimaway17 (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Erm Ali Daei? And no clue with the clean sheets
Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago
1) pele.
Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago
2) yashin
Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago
2) cassilas
LumpOfCelery (Chelsea) 3 years ago
Pele  Buffon
Rockerr (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Gerd Muller
Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago
Donnchadh revel the answers...
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Sorry boys I have been off for quite some time

For the .75 goal ratio there are a few answers. Puskas is one 84 in 85 appearances dumb really haha, Gerd Muller is another he had a ridiculous goal scoring ratio for West Germany of 1.09. Ali Daeli has the most international goals scored at 109 but a ratio just under the mark at .73, many guessed Pele which is correct .84 77 in 92 matches. There are also two Scandinavians with ridiculous goal scoring records Poul Nielsen of Denmark has 52 in 38!? And Sven Rydell of Sweden has 49 in 43. There are probably others, these are all I could find. I think it may be some time before a player for his country has this kind of prolific record again. The game is becoming more defensive, especially at the international level.

Going with that trend I believe it is two modern goalkeepers who hold the most clean sheets for their country. Edwin Van der Sar has a ridiculous 71 clean sheets for the Netherlands. Casillas may be up there too, he had kept 52 clean sheets as of 2009. I am pretty sure Van der Sar holds that record though. Much harder to find these kind of clean sheet records than goal scoring records haha. Peter Shilton is up there too with 66, and shares a record with Barthez(really Barthez haha) of having kept 10 WC clean sheets. If you can do some research and find someone with more than the 71 of VDS I would love to see it. Thomas Ravelli may be one to look into, as well as getting an updated number for Casillas. Most of my numbers I got from this awesome list.

p.s. Prag and Greatscott Ronaldo has 62 in 98 caps, while Kluivert has 40 in 79 both wonderful tallies, just harder to score goals in the modern international game. Look at the best player in the world right now I don't think his ratio can be above 2 in 5 for Argentina. Though he doesn't really play in that pure goal scoring role, especially for Argentina (Maradona has 34 in 91 Messi has 17 in 60). I am surprised that the leading dutch goal scorer is Patrick with 40 so many legends, Cruijff, Neeskens, Rep, Van Basten, Gullit, Bergkamp, Van Nistelrooy, Van Persie
TheBarcaShow (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Not sure on the clean sheets. But looking at caps wise I am sure Zoff, Maier, and Zubizarreta can probably bring some good numbers
Pragathish (AC Milan) 3 years ago
Which foreign player(non-Italian) in Serie A has scored the most number of braces over the past three calcio seasons?
Kimaway17 (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Are you serious?
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Sammy Eto'o mayhap
ManUK (Manchester United) 3 years ago
I'm thinking Ibrahimovic or Eto'o as well
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
But Eto'o has only been in serie a for two seasons I believe so that probably isn't right. Is it Pato?
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Haha nice Kaden reminds me of the good old days when you would go to post something and there is something above because someone posted first the instant responses hahaha
Pragathish (AC Milan) 3 years ago
Donnchadh gets it right, it is Alexandre Pato!
Pato has an uncanny routine of scoring stunning braces and getting injured the very next match leaving us Milan fans debate whether we must accept that 50M offer from Chelsea
ManUK (Manchester United) 3 years ago
Haha yea Donn, I remember when everybody would post two seconds after each other. It got confusing
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Bit easier: how many times did George Weah win the African player of the year award

Bit tougher:how many goals did Johan Cruijff score in his time with Ajax in how many appearances, and how many did he score for the Netherlands in how many appearances
Pragathish (AC Milan) 3 years ago
1) 3 times African player of the year and 1 time player of the century!  2) Dude!
GreatScot (Rangers)(Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
1) 3 times    2) Absolutely no way I can guess that without the aid of google so I'm just going to pass on that one! Lol
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Ya that one is super tough, hoping someone like Jeroen may stumble upon it and give it a crack. To give a hint they are ridiculous goal scoring ratios for both club and country. In the mean time though, here is another piece of Cruijff trivia that may be a little more realistic for people to know. What club did he score, what the Catalans call the "gol de imposible" against? Back heeling it into the net from a tight angle with his right boot above his head, while he played for Barca of course
TheBarcaShow (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
@ the Cruijff one. It was Atletico I believe
Jeroen (Barcelona) 3 years ago
Man, I've been missing out for sure. I haven't been on footytube on a regular basis and if I was, I was on the Barça chat.

As for Johan:
I know he's 'only' gathered 48 caps for Holland, but he did score 33 times. I'm not sure about his Ajax and Barça stats (nevermind the short spells at the American teams he's played for, his second spell at Ajax and then at Feyenoord). But here's a guess:
Ajax (first spell): 250 games, 185 goals?
Barcelona: 150 games, 75 goals?

Edit: just checked, I'm almost spot on for the Ajax one, but he's scored a meagre 48 goals in 140 games for Barça. Johan, I am disappoint.
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Haha nice Jeroen, I knew you would be close no the Ajax tallly. What a ridiculous ratio that is 190 in 240 appearances that's getting it done. 33 in 48 also very impressive, whenever he scored Holland never lost
Tony (footytube staff) 3 years ago
WHO WAS THE first british TEAM TO WIN A european trophy?    Answers on a postcard:
Tony (footytube staff) 3 years ago
This ones got them googling like f**k.... Lol
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Glasgow Lions isn't it? Celtic
Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago
Is it nottingham forest
Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago
Liverpool
Pragathish (AC Milan) 3 years ago
I'll go with Liverpool as well...
GreatScot (Rangers)(Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
*grudgingly* I think it's Celtic! Although I do know that Rangers were the first British club to reach a European final, sadly we got beat though!
Tony (footytube staff) 3 years ago
All wrong.... Lol, do a bit of research lads.... Lol
Rangers being the first team to reach a european final is wrong aswell, as this answer will prove
Tony (footytube staff) 3 years ago
I will give the answer tomorrow, if no one gets it
GreatScot (Rangers)(Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Ok I did a bit of research and now I know, but I won't say until so Tony can reveal the answer tomorrow, I definitely seen it say on Wiki that Rangers were the first British team to reach a European final though, I'm off to check that out again now!
TheBarcaShow (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Spurs. Cup Winners Cup in 63. Definitely googled it
Tony (footytube staff) 3 years ago
Not even close mate
TheBarcaShow (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Ok.... Did some more snooping.... How about West Auckland who won the Sir Thomas Lipton in 1909.

If that's not it then it is Glentoran FC winning the Vienna Cup in 1914
Tony (footytube staff) 3 years ago
Your correct, it was glentoran winning the vienna cup, which was the forerunner to the european cup, which is now what we all know as the champions league.
There were only 4 teams involved in the compo, and glentoran from belfast won it.
Nice bit of research barcashow
TheBarcaShow (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
I had to look on a forum posting to actually find it    Anyways everyone was stumped if it weren't for google
Tony (footytube staff) 3 years ago
They {glentoran}, were also the only team in the british isles with 3 registered club colours, red/green/black.
All other clubs in britain only had one colour, like liverpool {red}, or teams like man utd who were {red and white}
Even clubs synonimous with having 3 colours, didn't have.... Ie:, rangers red/white/blue.... Which is wrong, its blue/white.
Just thought I would throw that one into the mix barcashow.... Lol
Another useless bit of info
TheBarcaShow (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
That is pretty cool stuff. Off the top of my head I can't think of any other teams with 3 different colours. Brazil is the only one which kind of pops to my mind but the green is always just a tertiary colour compared to the yellow and blue
Tony (footytube staff) 3 years ago
Brazils not a british club side though.... Lol
TheBarcaShow (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Just saying in general there aren't many clubs which have 3 colours
Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago
Who was the first player to score with 5 different clubs in champions league competition? This one will be easy like the previous one...
Pragathish (AC Milan) 3 years ago
Clarence Seedorf?
Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago
No...
TheBarcaShow (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Ronaldo? Anelka?
GreatScot (Rangers)(Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Is it Luis Figo?
ManUK (Manchester United) 3 years ago
I'll go for Anelka
Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago
No friends. No even close...
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Hum some kind of journeyman striker. I would have to guess Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ajax, Juve, Inter, Barca and Milan, nice one though Jesuriya, this one is tough, don't know if Ibra is right
Pragathish (AC Milan) 3 years ago
Hernan crespo or Bobo Vieri right?
Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago
Pragathish thambi got it right.... It is crespo. Donnchadh you also got it right ibhrahimovic was the second player to do that
Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago
GreatScot luis figo played for only 4 europian clubs.... Lol
GreatScot (Rangers)(Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Lol I just took a stab at it!
Pragathish (AC Milan) 3 years ago
Great!  Keep 'em coming bro!
Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago
Which player did de rossi elbowed and got sent off in world cup 2006 match against usa?
ManUK (Manchester United) 3 years ago
I believe it was Brian McBride
Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago
Manuk got it right
GreatScot (Rangers)(Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
How many own goals have Brazil scored at the copa America and the World coup combined?
ManUK (Manchester United) 3 years ago
You mean in just the last tournaments, or all time?
GreatScot (Rangers)(Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
I think its all time mate!
ManUK (Manchester United) 3 years ago
I have no idea haha, I'll go with 38
GreatScot (Rangers)(Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
38 own goals! I don't any team has scored that many at international tournaments! Lol

No amazingly it's 0! Acording to opta stats Brazil have never scored an own goal at the copa america or the WC!
ManUK (Manchester United) 3 years ago
Well It's brasil, I figured Robinho put in about half of those lol
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Who was the first player to ever win the balon d'or?
Micky (Chelsea) 3 years ago
Stanley Matthews, the wizard.... Who else?
ManUK (Manchester United) 3 years ago
1: When did Ajax first win the Uefa Champions league?

2. Who are the four players Manchester United have signed for more than £25m?

3. Who was Tottenham Hotspur's shirt sponsor in 1996? (shirt sponsor like Aon or Emirates)
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
1.) 1971 I believe it was against Panathiniakos, they won two more after that one Cruijff, Neeskens, and Rep up top, defenses must have been terrified haha

2.) hum this one I am not so confident on, maybe Cristiano Ronaldo? But he was young when he was bought and somewhat unproven. Eric Cantona, Dimitar Berbatov, Edwin Van der Sar?

3.)no idea but I will take a classic one and say crown paints haha
Rockerr (Liverpool) 3 years ago
2) Ferdinand, Berba, Van der sar and Rooney?
GreatScot (Rangers)(Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
2) Ferdinand, Rooney, Berbatov and Valencia maybe, I know it's not Van Der Saar, he was only a couple of million I think!
3) is it holsten pils?
ManUK (Manchester United) 3 years ago
Donchad got #1 right, although I must say it wasn't the hardest question ever haha. On # 2 Rockerr and GreatScot both got 3 out of 4, Juan Sebastian Veron was the one you both missed. With Ferdinand, Rooney, and Berbatov being the others.

I didn't really expect anyone to get #3 It was Hewlett Packard (or HP electronics)
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
OK I am going to go with a somewhat easier one and one that is more difficult

Bit easier: Who is the leading goalscorer for Fulham since the top flight in England has been called the prem de la prem

Pretty damn hard: How many goals did Stevan Jovetic score in his debut season with Fiorentina
GreatScot (Rangers)(Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Ok the easy one i'll start with.... Bobby Zamora maybe?

And the harder one, i'll just have a stab at and say.... 23!

Pragathish (AC Milan) 3 years ago
(Just reminding myself the rules : No google, No wikipedia!)    I'm going with Zamora as well.    Next, uh maybe 11?
ManUK (Manchester United) 3 years ago
The first one is Gordon Davies I think, but for the harder one.... 15 goals? Just a complete guess

Edit: oh you said since the top flight became the premier league, so then I'll guess Brain Mcbride for the easy one
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Haha the easy one is still pretty difficult, the hint I will give is that he is not British and has scored a goal in the past two world cups.

The second is really quite difficult so I will give a big hint, and say it is low, he more than doubled this tally in the champions league alone his next season
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
The first one is Clint Dempsey and the second one was a little ridiculous I realize haha, he scored 2 goals, than scored 4 in the champions league his next season. Really like both these players though
Pragathish (AC Milan) 3 years ago
Which player scored the most headed goals over the last five Serie A seasons?
GreatScot (Rangers)(Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
I'll go for Hernan Crespo!
Rockerr (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Totti
Pragathish (AC Milan) 3 years ago
Neither.
I must say though, Crespo's a decent guess, the man has scored a slew of headed goals in his prime time, but the mind you, we are talking only about the last five seasons!
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
I would have to guess Ibrahimovic even though he missed a season. Good one though Prag, Ibra may be wrong I really don't know
Rockerr (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Trezegol?
Pragathish (AC Milan) 3 years ago
No no.... Keep guessing guys, keep guessing
Pragathish (AC Milan) 3 years ago
Little hint: He's an Italian and has scored 24 goals with his head in last five seasons
ManUK (Manchester United) 3 years ago
Di Natale? He's Italian
Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago
Gillardino?
Pragathish (AC Milan) 3 years ago
Jesuriya gets it right, it is Gilardino!
Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago
I have seen many times his shots on goals hitting the goal post and bouncing back.... So it is exciting to watch him play Lol.... But I really din't know that he scored the most number of headed goals
Pragathish (AC Milan) 3 years ago
Many wouldn't know this, but Gilardino has a superb heading ability despite being only 1. 84m long
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Nice one Prag I was thinking it may be one of the Italian guys at Juventus guess I was wrong on that one as well haha
TheBarcaShow (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Di Natale was the first to pop into my head but I am surprised about Gilardino
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Whose goal scoring record did Rual break this season for European club competition goals in their career?
Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago
Inzhagi...
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Ya you get a point for that one, he did pass Inzaghi in "CL" goals, but there was another European legend and World cup winner who he surpassed in European goals. This guy played before it was called the champions league
GreatScot (Rangers)(Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Eusebio?
GreatScot (Rangers)(Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
That was the first name that popped into my head!
Peteko 3 years ago
Eusebio is not a world cup winner.    Maybe a German like Gerd Mueller. He was a beast.
Tony (footytube staff) 3 years ago
Boniek? .... Is he that far back? . I hate googling stuff, ruins the fun
Tony (footytube staff) 3 years ago
Just thinking, he's not a world cup winner.... Lol
Mullers a good shout peteko, one of my fav players.
I could live with that one.

Baldy charlton
Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago
Alfredo Di Stéfano
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Peteko got it with Gerd Muller, der bomber his first coach at Bayern Munchen called him the "short and fat one" haha

Peteko 3 years ago
Yeaaah. I was right. He was something, wasn't he. Der Bomber indeed
GreatScot (Rangers)(Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Who were the last team to win the SPL in Scotland other than Rangers or Celtic?
ManUK (Manchester United) 3 years ago
Dundee United?
Juno (AC Milan) 3 years ago
I'm 90% sure that it must be one of the team playing in SPL
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Hibernian
Juno (AC Milan) 3 years ago
Hey, Kaden, you changed your statement since I posted
GreatScot (Rangers)(Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
It was Aberdeen in 1984-85 season, ManUK you were close you had Aberdeen in there the last time I checked!

Juno your guess really narrowed it down! Lol
ManUK (Manchester United) 3 years ago
Yes I did change it, I just decided on dundee united after thinking about it for a while
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
This one was a cool one GreatScot I enjoyed it, really illustrates the dominance of the Glasgow teams just curious, has anyone one else besides Celtic or Rangers won the Scottish cup recently?
GreatScot (Rangers)(Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Yeah Dundee Utd won it season before last against Ross County in the final, a couple of season's before that Hearts beat Gretna(who are now bust) in the final! Cup competitions always throw up a surprise every now and again!
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
How many teams participated in the first World Cup tournament in 1930?
Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago
10
Peteko 3 years ago

GreatScot (Rangers)(Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Was it not something like 8? I remember hearing this a while back, yeah i'll stick with 8!
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Pete got it with 13, GreatScot I commend you with going with your gut though Jesuriya nice profile pic, you've had that one for a long time haha
Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago
Yea.... I drew my profile picture...
Tony (footytube staff) 3 years ago
Which italian serie A team has the words "cricket club" after its name
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Brescia? Or Chievo
Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago
Napoli or genoa or juve
GreatScot (Rangers)(Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Genoa, i'll go for, I think you can only guess one team! Lol Either that you could just print the entire serie A teams!
Tony (footytube staff) 3 years ago
Genoa it is, hey jesuriya, 3 guesses? .... Lol, don't be hedging your bets.... Lol
Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago
I finally narrowed down to those three clubs so I wrote all of those three.... Lol.... But any how I got it. Lol
