Sam (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
I hold the record for scoring the most goals in the League Cup over a season.
I also hold the record for playing for more London based football clubs than any other footballer in history.
I scored over 200 career goals but was never able to score for my country (although I was only capped 5 times).
Who am I?
Sam (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Finally, a question that stumped the general masses...
GreatScot (Rangers)(Footytube Staff) 3 years ago

Sam (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago

Sam (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
I won the PFA Players' Player of the Year, FWA Footballer of the Year and European Golden Boot all in the same season.
I was the first player to pick up 5 League Cup (Carling Cup) winners medals.
I also hold the record for most goals in League Cup history.
Who am I?
Somere (Portmore Utd) 3 years ago

Sam (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
I scored over 100 goals in top flight football in England.
I was the first player to win the PFA Young Player of the Year and PFA Players' Player of the Year award in the same season.
I scored the winning goal in a League Cup final in the same season that my team was relegated from the top division.
In spite of all my accolades, I was never selected by my national team to play at the World Cup.

We were born in poland.
But we are not playing for the country in which we were born.
We played together in 2 world cups.
We both won two separate individual awards in the first world cup which we played together.
We both played for the same club for two seasons.
We both have scored a total of 100 goals for the country we are playing.
WHO WE ARE?
Juvewba (Juventus) 3 years ago
I can only think of two of the best polish born players playing for Germany.    Klose and Podolski
Kimaway17 (Liverpool) 3 years ago
I agree. Klose and Podolski
TheBarcaShow (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
After the first clue Klose and Podolski jumped into my head.    Did they really only spend 2 years together at Bayern?

What was the significance of the 1985 fa cup final between everton and man utd?
TheBarcaShow (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
The last cup won by a United manager that was not SAF?
Tony (footytube staff) 3 years ago
Nope
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
It was played in a different stadium than wembley? Just a shot in the dark, which I think is wrong because West Ham and Liverpool in 06 was the first one played outside of wembley haha still I will go with it
Tony (footytube staff) 3 years ago
Not even close, it was at wembley, and utd won 1-0 in extra time.... But what was significant about the game?
Somere (Portmore Utd) 3 years ago
That was the first time a red card was shown in a FA cup final
Tony (footytube staff) 3 years ago

Tony (footytube staff) 3 years ago
Infact I posted video highlights of that game in the "man utd classic games"
Well worth a watch, winning with 10 ten after moran was sent off very early on
Sam (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
I turned professional when I turned 17.
I played over 400 games for 2 separate London teams.
I reached 3 straight FA Cup finals, although my team only won one (the middle) of those three finals, against Man United.
I was also able to win 2 Serie A titles playing in Italy for 5+ seasons.
I was nicknamed "Chippy" at one of my London teams, not for my ability to chip the ball but for my fondness for fish and chips.

TheBarcaShow (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
There are 6 teams in Europe to have completed the treble. That is they have won the Champions League (or a previous version of it), a domestic league title and a league cup. A treble like the one won by Porto last season does not count
Somere (Portmore Utd) 3 years ago
Manchester united, barcelona and inter are the one I know
TheBarcaShow (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
You got the 3 most recent ones, those are the only ones I could name without the use of the internet. 2 of the last 3 I think most people could take a good guess and get it right
Sam (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
I think Ajax has completeted a treble, also guessing Benfica.... And maybe Real Madrid back in the day?
Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago

TheBarcaShow (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Milan.    Real Madrid is probably up there since they keep buying winners of the award
Sam (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Correct answers are Juventus and AC Milan, with 6 each
TheBarcaShow (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Surprised about Juventus to be honest.

I looked it up just now and Barcelona also have 6 players winning it 7 times between them.

8 if you include the FIFA Ballon D'or because of Messi
Sam (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
I scored over 500 career goals.
I won an Olympic gold and was a World Cup finalist 2 years later.
I am the only player in history to have scored a hat-trick in the champions league final and still lose the game.
I won 3 European Cups, 10 league championships in 2 different countries and 8 top individual scoring honors.

Sam (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Not many takers on this one.... Going historical with this one.... Correct answer- Ferenc Puskás (if you don't know who he is/was, read up on him- one of the greatest players of all time!)
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Aha nice one Sam, and Jesuriya on the money guessing one of those two haha. Puskas is the man, just pure class
TheBarcaShow (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago

Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago
Paraguay
Sam (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
No, not Paraguay
Jesuriya (AS Roma) 3 years ago
Not paraguay? Then it should be mexico or chile
ManUK (Manchester United) 3 years ago
I'm fairly certain it's mexico (if that counts as south america)
TheBarcaShow (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Chile I think, Third place but I couldn't tell you the year. 50's or 60's maybe
Sam (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Correct answer is Chile in 1962. It didn't hurt that they hosted the tournament LOL!

Which English team plays at the highest altitude in England?  Where would I find the stadium located at the highest altitude in the world?
GreatScot (Rangers)(Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
In the world I believe is Bolivia, they have beat teams like Argentina and Brazil at home using the altitude to their advantage!

English team I don't know maybe Newcastle @ St. James's park?
Sam (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Not St. James' Park.... A little addendum- talking only about teams in the Premier League or Championship
You are on the right track with Bolivia...
ManUK (Manchester United) 3 years ago
English teams, are we talking premier league or any english team?
Donnchadh (Liverpool) 3 years ago
Perhaps in Peru for the world question
ManUK (Manchester United) 3 years ago
I think it's Equador, they have some majorly high stadiums
Sam (Footytube Staff) 3 years ago
Highest altitude stadium in England- the Hawthorns, home of West Brom. (168m above sea level)

Highest stadium in the world- Estadio Hernando Siles in La Paz, Bolivia, which stands 3,637 m above sea level
