If you could pick just one player to transfer in and make the biggest difference in your squad, who would it be and why?
As good and deep as manchester united are we've got some holes in each area of the pitch. Our defence is lacking only due to injury so I really wouldn't change anything there. It's quite obvious that Rooney is our #1 up front but he hasn't really had a partner of his equal (or even close to that) that we can rely on. But I don't think that's our biggest weakness, I think our biggest weakness is a great all around central midfielder. Someone like Zidane, or Roy Keane (only not retired).
When I think of the best current central mid's I think of Lampard, Kaka, Fabregas, Seedorf, perhaps Gerrard (although it pains me to say it). I initially want to say Kaka would be best because of his size and holding ability, but I think Fabregas is a bit more selfless especially with shots and I think he would be absolutely deadly when pairing with Rooney. I guess my pick is Fabregas, I wish I was more original, but at least I didn't pick Messi!
If I had to pick one, it would have to be wayne rooney. I have a 4-3-3 formation and three subs, so I have four forwards.... Jermain defoe, darren bent, ibrahimovic, and diego milito, so I would obviously have to get rid of one of them, probably darren bent. But rooneys the man in form, and anyone with him in their dreamteam are prospering bigtime
If I had to pick one it would be messi as he's is currently doing well. In fact lots of people are doing well this year, Rooney, Ronaldo, Messi to name just a few. It's a fruitful year for football . Messi's goals are adding up big time, so I'd rack up points like nobody's business even more. The strike force I have would be amazing. Defoe, Rooney, Ronaldo, Bellamy, and then Tevez.
Some confusion here, it's not your dreamfooty squad, it's the team you support. For example, my favorite team is manchester united and I think we could use a midfielder. So the object isn't to make a dream squad, it's to pick one man that would greatly improve your favorite team
Lol. I was surprised when I saw Tony's post with Wayne rooney who already plays for Manchester united in his choices. But I understood you. If I was chelsea manager, I would certainly buy or mainly firstly a right winger and a right back. Chelsea used to have Joe cole and shaun wright phillips, but the latter has left and Joey's been injured for ages and because he iss prone, when he's out we need a replacement. If we don't, then we normally end up with essien on the right, or maybe deco or ballack or mikel, or we play an all-central midfield (all those I stated were centre mids, like Lampard). I wouldn't buy someone who's already imroving - like manchester united bought gabriel obertan- I would be like liverpool, and buy (someone like) maxi rodriguez, already a star on the international Stage. So for me I would have to choose to buy aaron lennon from Tottenham or ashely young from aston villa. No-one big, of course my dream would be messi but only if I had enough. For a right-back I would choose some-one from abroad. Not sergio ramos, but either maicon or daniel alves but it is seriously hard to choose between the two. I think daniel alves would be good storming down the wings, but maicon would look better in the shirt and play more defensivly which is in fact what a defender is for (Fact! Lol). So Maicon and out of the two wingers Aaron lennon would be my dream signings for chelsea
I wouldn't mind having the power and mobility of Dani Alves coming up from the back. I have really enjoyed watching Evra holding our back line and creating all kinds of havoc for he opposition when he comes up. To have someone else on the other side who can do the same would be frightening for the other team. Plus Alves would bring some free kick depth to the squad, which I think we could use as well
I would want a player like Girogio Chiellini. A world class center back. Carra is getting old, and Srktel, Kyrgiakos, and Agger are all solid, but not of the caliber of John Terry or Vidic. Chiellini is. I think he is a great player, even if he is Italian haha. And he could do great things for our club. He is also quite young, 25 I believe.
Or a true supporting striker ala Zlatan Ibrahimovic or Edin Dzeko, maybe even Klass Jan Huntelaar . Move Gerrard back into his natural position of central midfield and bring one of those players into the supporting role, preferably Ibrahimovic.
Or a right winger, we our missing that although we have a few players who can play it. Eden Hazard would be my choice because he is so young and has so much potential. Or Jesus Navas or Franck Ribery.
If I had to choose only one player it would probably be Ribery actually I would love to see him in a Liverpool shirt
